Lee and Gaara faught in the first place for the plot everything that happend was for the sake of plot Lee was unable to defeat Kimimaro (the bone guy, if you don't remember) but Gaara was able to saying that it happened for the sake of plot is no excuse not to mention even if Garra didn't destroy his arm and leg Lee would still unable to stand after opening so many gates whereas Garra even tho so much injuired got up and walked off

@@angienoexiste yeah but guy was much stronger than lee in shippuden, much less here, and already one of the best jonin in the hidden leaf if not the whole world. Duy was the eternal genin and he was able to hold off (and kill some of them depending on the source) the seven ninja swordsmen of the mist who Guy and Kakashi were able to take on together as adults. I do agree though going to 3 would have accomplished just as much if lee was going to get beat anyway, it would have made opening the later gates more epic if lee could do this with only 3

No. Jinchurikis heal fast when Kishimoto says so. If the plot requires Jinchurikis to lose then they suddenly stop healing.

Shippuden had so much potential with side characters like Lee, and other side characters had really nice fights in the OG Naruto, but they really went away from that in Shippuden. It would have been cool if they didn't go the direction of making Hashirama/Madara descendants so much more OP than everyone else in the village. Having Lee or Neji and/or other Hidden Leaf characters be close to Naruto/Sasuke in power scaling would have lead to more great fights in Shippuden.

One of the biggest problems with shippuden is that he did not know how to take advantage of the characters with naruto potential, but that is because shippuden has a huge number of new characters very well made, in addition to that the author has already been with naruto for more than a decade, that tired him and he wanted to finish it, but if kishimoto had wanted naruto it would be twice as long and without filling, there were many things that could be incredible, but they were not made or developed

I agree although I didn't have a problem with Senju, Uchiha, Uzumaki and Hyuga being descendants but I didn't like that Hashirama and Naruto were actually reincarnations of Ashura and Madara and Sasuke were reincarnations of Indra

True, the problem likely was that with the decision to have Madara/Obito fight the whole planet they had to make him insane, then Madara had to be even more extreme and therefore Hashirama as well, and then the original source of power needs to be basically a demi god.

I've always hated the fact that Garra survived the hidden lotus because he softened his landing even though the main damage came way before that. Its crazy I don't see anybody bringing that up.

You can see how they slowed his progress in shippuden. Narutos team had been genin for not even a year and Lee was the year above meaning he was only training under guy for a bit over a year. In that time he had mastered gates 1-5. It then took him 2 and a half years to learn ONE gate, and even by the end of shippuden he had only gotten to the 6th gate.

Sasuke at this point in the story would have gotten clapped by Lee. Gara won because if his sand shell. Literally without that and he would have died. Sasuke would have nothing to defend against Lee. The fight would go just like their first encounter. Lee would beat him easily if Lee goes fully in at the start

Lee was unlucky to face the only single genin from all 16 in this round who can stop him. Not Neiji, not Saske, only Gaara. Most of genins could not handle even Lee speed without weights. The second point is lack of intelligence - Lee could win if he attacked Gaara with full speed without weight for a long time, spending Gaara's chakra, because Lee had more endurance than Gaara could handle by the sand shield. And only after a long time of beating the sand shield, Lee should use Lotus. Even so, it was definitely too much for every genin. The better option to give up and try again in next year, but it is not Lee's way of ninja. This Bad-tempered dropout can't make an even single step back, that's why this tragedy happened.

He wouldn't outrun him in terms of endurance, Gaara's defence doesn't drain that much, only the skin armor is draining more, and still he's a jinchuuriki. Moving at this speed is not that easy for Lee.

Sadly he's a Jinchuuriki and Shukaku consistently feeds him Chakra, and gives him the power to actually use Sand, he empowers the sand with Chakra but doesn't have to use Chakra infused sand. In other words he's the top defense with unlimited support.

Iv watched and loved Naruto and Naruto shippuden ever since I was a kid, but truth be said, lee should’ve been the main character of this show, no over powered eyes obtained through genetics, no monster with unlimited amounts of chakra sealed inside of him, no special abilities nor “blessings”, just hard work, unfortunately, the more I grow up the more I see how the show was basically contradicting the message it was trying to spread, Naruto had no talent, kept complaining and whining throughout the entire series, and really the only reason he ever succeeded was because of his parents, rather him, same goes to Sasuke.. nice eyes bruh

OG Naruto was incredible... This fight was the most cruel moment it ever had, the fact that Kishimoto gave us a practically unbeatable Lee just to not only be beaten, but also not being able to fight anymore. His whole life is about training, about proving himself... Yet he couldn't (to himself, to the rest of us he proved magnificently)... That was too cruel. I like Shippuden, but as many people have pointed out, your OG characters were already good, Idk why they weren't exploited more.

This had to give garra alot of stress because the whole murderous tendenies is due to the fact of losing protection of himself. Him not being able to kill what hurt him is stressing him out. Which is why sasuke was able to deal a big blow to garra because it weakened his mental state.

Love how one of the main themes in naruto is "Hard work beats talent" but Naruto and sasuke out here being handed godlike power boosts, having perfect bloodlines, both are the reincarnations of the two sons of ninja jesus himself and destined to balance the force while characters that actually worked hard to become strong like Lee, Might Guy, Shikamaru were left in the darkness. @@handmethatpochitussy Its never been ''hard work beats talent'' when Lee didn't even win this fight and Sasuke immediatly copied/surpassed Lee's Taijutsu with a superior Sharingan after some training. Setting aside the reincarnation reveal in part 2, Naruto and Sasuke were already deemed very special by the elite ninjas in their potential/backgrounds midway through part 1. If anything the main themes had been about bonds (its bonds what ultimately broke the cycle of war reincarnation), never going back on your word even if it goes against society traditions and making your potential come true regardless if society puts you down. Interesting tho you name Might Guy when his 8 gates was about as strong as a god Madara.

Fun fact about gaara he was cursed the same way as Naruto the only difference was gaara still had his father and a caregiver that was assigned to him only to be betrayed by both nearly assassinated if it wasn't for the sand protecting him that shattered Gaara whereas Naruto was born as a baby the Nine-Tails sealed away inside him at the sacrifice of both his parents and Lord third Hokage placing him in an apartment or some residence leaving him all by his Lonesome to deal with the Villagers hate and fear of the nine tails without Naruto officially knowing what happened the day of his birth he only found out the reason why the village hated him when one other Shinobi decided to have Naruto steal the scroll but Naruto had a dream a single goal now granted he got the respect and recognition he deserved and wanted prior to becoming hokage but the goal was to become Hokage and make the village acknowledge Him to treat him as a fellow person and not some creature but you guys know the show Naruto had a very long road ahead of him

Tiny reminder, Lee DEAD-ASS planned on doing that to Neji. Which would have absolutely /killed/ the living SHIT out of him. But it was worth it, to see early Neji dumb-struck for a second.
