I have 2 payments left on my Camara , then I am getting 2ss or vette! If I end up with 700 a month ? That's ok. I love my car. I work like a dog , but when I get in my car ( bumblebee) it runs , looks , feels so good! It's the only tangible thing that consistently makes me feel this way. It's a luxury I admit , but I don't drink , smoke , or anything else. Some people spend 500.00 a month on smoking.
Goshh and I’m sitting here dying for the day to come when I get my hands on my challenger 😤 so I could drive with you guys and share that same experience 😬
Lots and lots of factors go into the cost of owning one of these cars, and then maintaining it. I have a 2018 2SS, got a great interest rate, payments are around $620/month (put down $5k). I have a weekend insurance plan since the Camaro is not my daily - it's a pleasure car. Due to the insurance package I have, insurance on the camaro is $94 a month (that's including a multiple car bundle and discounts because I've never had an accident or gotten a ticket - though I've been close on the latter!). Tire costs can range from $900-1500 for all 4 tires, but very dependent on the type of tire. I only drive mine in warmer months and I drive it hard so I ball out on good tires - the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 are pretty good. Expect the oil change to be around $100. If you can do it yourself you'll definitely save some bucks. Lastly, it is a V8 and a thirsty car and so fill ups are usually around $40 for me - that's using premium (93) at around $3.20/gallon. Also very dependent on how you drive the car. And yes, premium is recommended in the owners manual. If you're looking into buying one of these, my advice is do your research on costs and maintenance costs and shop around for both the car and financing!!! Most people just walk into dealerships with a baseline price in mind and no other prepared knowledge. By doing that you are shooting yourself in the foot! I walked in knowing everything about the car and its financing and was pre-approved for loans with incredible interest rates. The salesperson I was working with legit panicked because they never met someone so prepared - also, it took an hour of phone calls to their banks but the dealer actually beat my interest rate with a lower one through one of their banks. That never would have happened if I wasn't prepared. Moral of the story, I love my car, it's worth the money to me, but I am a very smart shopper, owner, and driver. Moral of the story, do your homework before signing.
Why aren't you guys doing your own oil changes😅 its so damn easy. I pay 65 bucks for mobile one 15k mille full synthetic blend and a k&n filter. Don't pay people to do that easy job lol.
John2russ most of the time I do but sometimes it’s a pain in the ass and I don’t got a lift and don’t feel like getting oil every where. I always spill smh
Very good point with the tires, a lot of people that are interested in buying a used camaro ss don't consider how quickly they will be dropping another grand on a set of tires. All of the sudden, that decent deal you got for the car - was so decent!
i have a 2019 ss all black with recaro seats in it. i like to play with with but from south dakota i do a lot of long distance driving so i am averaging about 23.5 mpg so not too bad. love your video keep it and yes smiles per gallon when you hit the gas it is awesome
Just so y'all know I own a 2016 2SS Camaro. The battery cost $284.00,front headlamp $135.00 .It's just my weekend driver so it didn't impact my wallet but it did surprise me. The guy at the auto parts store said thats what you get for buying a sports car..😆
He lives so close to me😂 Thanks for this awesome video im only almost 17 but i really want to get a 2ss in the next few years and this helped me understand an estimate of what it would cost. 👍(new sub btw)
I came upon your vid cause I was searching more into 2ss. After your review I can officially say I will be able to afford my 2ss. It will be my first car and it will be 2022 so payments might be a bit high but I already spend a lot on my beater car. I spend around 450-480 a month on gas. Insurance will be around 200 as well but it definitely would be worth it.
Subscribed ! I graduate college in a few weeks and I’m going to get me my dream Camaro. This was Informative ! My dream car since I was in high school 😆
New sub brotha! You have a sick camaro and I recently became a Maro lover. Alot and I mean a lot of people are driving mopar here in Indianapolis and I wanted to change it up and do something different, so I decided to become a Camaro lover and found my new love ❤️. Well stay safe and bless!
Thank you for this video! Recently I’ve become really interested in the camaro 2SS and this was super informative. My credit is exceptional so I don’t think my APR would be high and my driving record is clean so I don’t think I’d be paying too much in insurance. Also I want to put at least 10k down when I sign. 12.5k max lol
@@OP_-pk9hm makes 0 sense 🤣🤣 just a bunch of misguided sheep babies wanting nice things without actually wanting and having shit that matters… they don’t know that CREDIT rules if you have to put 12K down on a Camaro your credit is dirt shit you can go and put 0 down !!!!! , he’s better off finding something 7-10K and trying to put 0 down there
@@kujozz3949 don’t take my opinion for it. Look up the average savings account for a 20-30 year old. Unless you got massive support from mommy and daddy, or you live in some boring town where rent/mortgage is $1000 a month with no kids, then yes 30k is a lot. Now imagine you saved that much money and you decide to put it in a car that only takes premium with high gas prices. Imagine using that as your down payment instead of a home when it was record low interest rates… yea, smart. I make 105k, rent $2400 monthly, no kids, and zero college debt and even then 30k would take me a while. You have to structure your budget too. It shouldn’t go all into savings. Not sure how that makes me a bozo lol
Appreciate the input, have a 2016 camaro 2SS. Was fortunate enough to pay it all cash so no monthly payments & insurance is 422 every 6 months. Maintenance has been normal, have owned it for 2 & a half years & nothing bad so far but now looking at ZL1s
Divine Prosperity7 hey what’s up, no I think you misunderstood, I pay 422 every 6 months, it comes out to 70 a month for full coverage. I have 21st century. Just gotta look around for the best insurance. I know people paying like 200 a month for Nissan Sentras.
he's on damn point with everything he's saying. I have a convertable RS 2017 red lol. insurance was around his mine is lower now under $180 full coverage in california. oil change roughly $70 but i buy all my stuff and take it to my certified partner who does mine. car note is just about right but he has an SS and a V8 plus credit prices milage on car varies of course on the price of a note. Gas hell no lol this brotha does drive a lot lol i'd go crazy if i ever spent anywhere over $125 on gas. he does say he drives a lot and aggressive so it makes sense. nice review bro takes a lot to put your business out there to share.
Thanks for sharing too! And yeah, I don't think some others realized how serious it was when I talked about how much I drive lol. It is really bad actually and I am looking to cut down.
Not a camaro, but I am a bit over a month in of owning my 2020 scat pack widebody charger. I spend about 80-100 bucks a month in gas and 100 in insurance. My main worry will be tires, but my point is this cars are affordable you just have base the decision on if it’s a smart one for you. If not grind until it is!
I have a SS2 2017 Fifty. A true 50. I have five thousand miles on it and soon enough it will 2023. I love it and plan on keeping it for another 7 years ❤. So now that it’s broken in I plan on having some fun😂. This is my fourth Camaro ❤
I gotta 2019 2ss and it’s not that bad on maintenance when you do everything yourself (Synthetic oil 40$ 4 months)(brakes 50$ 6 months)(tires 800$ yearly)(Gas 50$ week) (payment 615$) (insurance 210$) would recommend a Camaro really fun n reliable
I just picked up my 2019 2ss 1LE last week, I can't stop driving it 😆but damn, they do love to drink!! I'm averaging 13.2mpg right now, but almost all of my driving is short trips, and i've been using a very heavy foot hahaha
Lol, I’ve driven mine 26k in 7 months. 2 of those trips were across country but I can attest to the fact that they drive amazingly. I want a Corvette Gran Sport next; ZL1 & ZO6 are out of my price range but I can imagine they drive even better than a dam SS 😉
@@slimp9944 They started offering the 2SS 1LE as of the 2018 production models. Being in Canada and driving mine throughout the winter (i've been blasted by many people online for this already lol), the 2ss is such a nice package to have (heated steering wheel/seats)
I love my 2016, 2SS. It's not a daily driver and I do all the maintenance myself. Wait until you build up the motor, that gas mileage will drop even more, lol. Totally worth it!
I daily drive lol 😂 the nay sayers can’t afford to daily drive I use it as my daily it’s perfect the mpg isn’t as terrible as you think for a v8 but it’s a muscle car Fr if you can’t afford it then buy a honda
Brandon TheSage under my moms insurance. I’m 21 , hell no I ain’t getting my own yet till I’m 25 😂 but I’m still proud to say that the whole car is in my name. No co signer. 💪🏽
He drives at 3-4K rpm all the time of course your burning gas when your not going fast just leave it in auto my man I have an ss pushing 540 wheel and I daily it and my gas a month doesn’t pass 150

I got the 2020 2SS Blackout Edition my payments are 700 a month I added this on since so many people commented. My credit score was 730 when I bought it. And I financed through USAA. Car was 50,000 My salary is about 6500 a month after taxes Military.
Nice car. I will say $100 for an oil change is ridiculous. Synthetic oil costs $2-5 for (5-7 quarts) more than conventional and involves the same process. With these beautiful cars I suggest looking at doing it yourself for $24-30 vs paying $80-100 every 2-3 months. You get virtually a free set of brakes with the savings every 2 months or a free set of tires every year. Great video though.
@@NigelDRealest I can promise you there's no simpler thing with more benefits you can do to your car. The bolt to release the oil should be hand tightened not too tight. I've seen shops not adhere to this by being in a hurry etc which can cause damage to the bolt, oil pan, engine (Just ran into this last week with the GFs car). Bc it can take some time, declaring who the responsible party is could be a wild goose chase. Then we fit the bill. If you have or know someone with a older car not being used, disabled, you can practice on that car. Greatly beneficial.
Thanks so much for the info. I’m in the process of getting a camaro. Was trying to decide on V6 or V8. I am not a daily driver but it would be the only car I have. My other vehicle is a motorcycle.
If you're trying to race or take it to track go with the V8. If you want it just for the looks get the 2LT RS V6. Still get leather seating almost everything is identical aside from engine
Soft tires are faster…. Hard tires are more durable.. Soft tires make more noise, hard tires do less…. Want u to say what u think…. Soft tires on the back and har on the front…. Actually.. I don’t know.. if u can make a video about that I’ll be glad to see!! Sorry about my EN.. Nice video… I enjoy a lot!! I do own a Camaro Fifty in Brazil.. thanks for sharing!
Just a suggestion for people that live in colder climates they’ll probably have to buy winter tires I live in Texas so it’s not much of an issue for me but just something to think about
Very true, I live in Chicago burb and own 2SS 2018. I had to get a separate winter set of wheels for $2,300. Got them in 18 inch configuration. Works well, because I do daily drive my Camaro in winter.
I saw you was a shell gas station what kind of gas this car uses do you use v-power or the one in the middle. I think I will be getting the 2021 Chevy Camaro 2ss but I think I am going to work on my credit first so that my insurance can be cheap and. I am going to pay most of the car off. But I am still going to do payments every month so I can build that credit score up.
Great video man. I’m up in Jacksonville. I’ve been wanting to do a road trip down to Miami at some point. I have a 2018 2SS convertible. We should link up if I make it down there. And btw how many miles have you put on it so far?
It’s good to see my fellow black people be successful in life. As a young black man I ask you to stay safe throughout these troubling times especially with our racial equality issues within our police. I’m loving the car! Stay safe and god bless man ✊🏿
Hey not to get political, but check statistics on police shootings of unarmed people. I’m not saying that there doesn’t need to be reform, but don’t be afraid of the police Yooi Yuhi. Your everyday choices puts you into positions of having interactions with police not the color of your skin. (Not saying there aren’t crappy cops)
I got my 2016 2ss less than a month ago and I find myself doing the most unnecessary trips. 3am trips to the gas station buying a bottle of water just so I can drive my baby around with no traffic lol this thing is addictive!
he said his insurance is 200 a month and thats with an expensive new car under warranty and without without safe driver, for me being 21 with safe driver and everything i could do for cheaper insurance with 5 years of driving with nothing and my coverage is still higher with a 2012 beater malibu
PT Cruiser Loser... Just joking man I couldn’t resist I’ve been listening to rap music all day so my brain is stuck in rhythmic loop right now. You’re driving something special don’t sell it
Just FYI, I think the safe driver discount is a gimmick. I am 46yrs old, PERFECT driving record. I had a parking ticket in 2012. Have been with USAA for over 20yrs.. and for full coverage on a 10yr old car (2013 SS) I pay $178/mo. When I ask about the good driver discount they tell me that's included. It's like when you see something for $100 in an ad and next to it they have a $200 price with a slash through it to make it look like you are getting $100 off using them. They create their own price to make a discount look like a discount... I should have the best rates of anyone I know for about any car I want to drive....and I keep hearing people pay around the same regardless of record. I live in Oklahoma....
I have a 2014 1LT Camaro (3.6L V6). I just did my oil change a few weeks ago. Cost me $30 and some time. Also got peace of mind knowing that it was done right.
Nooo.... autobox. Your insurance costs are crazy! My 2017 2SS I pay $350 every 6 months for insurance so about $60 per month. Payment was $358/month for the car new but I put a lot down, been paid off for 6 months or so.
If you don’t mind me asking who is your insurer you insurance with? I will be getting a 2021 camaro 2ss soon. I am paying $256 a month for insurance and the car I am driving now is a 2015 Honda Civic with a clean record. And I am 29 years old what the hell how you get yours so cheap. I am pissed 😡 so when I get my camaro they going raise my insurance.
I dontthink it aas a good idea for you to get the extended warranty because its known in dealerships that they will determine if your problem should be theirs and you know that they want to pay as little as possible and help you as little as possible. So your convenience when their's a problem is in their mercy which most likely they will lack any
@Doug E Doug even thats not enough sometimes. Some cars just have horrible quality no matter how well u take care of it. U might do the regular matainence but u can't control poorly welded wiring, or poor engineering if some electronics or poor paint quality
