Hello everyone! I've decided to talk about a slightly sensitive topic today, which is none other than money. As we know, aquascaping is not a cheap hobby, so I thought I'd show you the approximate value of the technical equipment for my large aquarium. These are just rough prices; you may find different prices in your region. It's important to note that without sponsors, my aquarium wouldn't be equipped this well. I want to take this opportunity to thank them!
If you would like to support my work, please become a channel member, it would mean a lot to me. Thank you!

You forgot the Dwarf Cory in the list of fish. I think you're wasting ferts by doing water changes so often. Maybe once evey 2-4 weeks to give the ferts time to be used. Looks great so what do I know.

question: why water change vs top off? Don't the plants take everything up leaving very low GH/KH? or is that why the reset every week? results of TDS before water change vs. after?

a green oasis of natural beauty, yet an expensive one! (tipp, to judge the true coloring of fish, dont use rgb lights but high cri led or sunlight - they trick the eye with the extra punch of color)

I'm at about 1200 usd for a 12 gallon high tech planted. It's the most beautiful thing I have ever built. Totally worth it.

I spent the most on my tanks. Everything else is pretty cheap in comparison, but it's still too expensive. I love my cories. I love my shrimp. I love my betta. I'm still pissed about a company screwing me over on sending me rummynose tetras instead of rasboras that I wanted to breed... But it gives me time to cycle another tank in the meantime while waiting for another batch from a different company in the fall once temps have gone back down.

beautiful tank, although do you really need to do a water change every week? I would have thought with all the plants growing you wouldn't need to. ?

Are the emergent plants free rooting in tank or are they in containers with plant soil/media? Looks great btw... how long has that monstera been living in water, I'm very curious...

Hello, If I may ask, what fertilizers do you use? I saw Tropica bottles, but I see that you have 4 bottles connected to the dispenser, and I only know 1 Tropica fertilizer.

Caveat: Aquascaping "can" be an expensive hobby if you don't need all the bells and whistles, and don't need the absolute BEST plant growth and design options possible, but are ok with almost as good of growth and slightly more limited options. Hey, spend your money however you want to, but we need to make sure people don't end up with the idea that you have to throw thousands of dollars at your aquarium to get what most people would consider satisfactory beauty out of their aquariums.

Beautiful scape, but that's why I don't watch western aquascaping anymore. Too removed from reality of average person. You can scape for a few dollars worth by using normal soil vs aquasoil, internal filters and propagating the plants you already have. I bought crypts once four years ago, and they multiply like crazy, stocked every aquarium already. Natural aquarium doesn't need weekly changes either, I change one third every three weeks.

It's fine if people want to hot-rod their systems and get the best plant performance and design options buy blowing wads of extra income, but I just hate when so many of these guys act like it's the only good way to go to get decent results. I'm not saying that's what this guy is doing, but I can't say he's not doing that either, considering the title of the vid...

Amazing aquarium but you definitely don’t need to do weekly water changes with all those plants. The stocking levels are low enough that you could probably change the water monthly and be just fine. Will save you some work and allow the fertilisers more time to do their job. Amazing work tho

Often times, high tech aquascapers add excess ferts to make sure there are no deficiencies, but control algae, water parameter changes, and various pollutant buildups through regular water changes. It seems like a waste to add extra fert just to remove it, but bare in mind that when you have so many different types of plants in an aquarium, it's difficult to avoid some deficiency, or to avoid this or that mineral or chemical either building up or being reduced to unhealthy levels via the biological processes of various plants and/or animals which can either be toxic or alter water parameters over time. Dirted, or even just aquasoiled substrates that are mostly covered with heavy root/substrate feeding plants can help mitigate some of those issues to an extent, but compensating for everything with zero maintenance or water changes is still difficult. But mostly, these guys go through extensive maintenance for the sake of getting the maximum performance out of their plants.
