Are you ready to be addicted to aquascaping? You are in the right place. You will find aquascaping design ideas, step by step tutorials and inspiring cinematic videos to get inspiration from. Right now I build freshwater tanks focused to the plants, but do not worry, you can meet with my fav pets too.
For you who have never met me before: I am a full time cinematographer from Europe who is addicted to aquascaping. As like lot of us, I became a hobbist first, but after a short time I realized this will take much bigger part from my life. It became an everyday routine.
Hi I'm new to the hobby I bought 2 flex 57l aquariums for my living room and I'm looking for some nice floating plants with long roots to go in them, could you recommend any for my water temperature (26-27 degrees) thanks for your help it's much appreciated, lovely aquarium hope mine looks half that good one day 👍
Ummm... My lava stone DEFINITELY affected the ph of my water in 3 different tanks. In my 1st tank, it made it harder & softer in the other 2. I'm certain that it's because of the bacteria colonies that set up in it & thrive because of all the tiny pockets. It's worth doing a test. Check out Modifying and reacting to the environmental pH can drive bacterial interactions - NIH
I have 2 questions: 1. As you mentioned, the substrate (the base layer) lasts for months and nourishes the plants. After a year, should we consider adding supplement capsules? 2. Is there any advantage to adding a sand cap on top of active Soil?
I spent the most on my tanks. Everything else is pretty cheap in comparison, but it's still too expensive. I love my cories. I love my shrimp. I love my betta. I'm still pissed about a company screwing me over on sending me rummynose tetras instead of rasboras that I wanted to breed... But it gives me time to cycle another tank in the meantime while waiting for another batch from a different company in the fall once temps have gone back down.
Those look like Celestial Pearl Danios - not Pearls. They're a recent discovery actually, and were originally named Galaxy Rasbora's in the trade. They're closely related to their cousins, the White Cloud Mountain Minnows.
Hello mate.. I think you have light issue in your set up.. Its lacking in brightness..that may lead to an algae outbreak again and again.. Measure your overall tank dimension and the requirement of proper lighting
I love asparagus ferns so much, but they will snag everything within their reach when doing maintenance. Crotons are really nice too for a huge splash of color. Most have large leaves, but the Zanzibar variety has pencil-thin leaves that look like fireworks so they can fit snugly in between plants with larger leaves. (typo)
The diatoms from hell finally died off a couple weeks ago in my tank. I thought they'd never go away, but now the water is pristine & determined to be liquid rock, no matter how many botanicals I add. =p
While I've also grown a peace lily to monstrous proportions, I'm just now trying a couple monstera & a couple of crotons (Zanzibar) for some more texture & color. ^^
I like to lay down my substrate & then add rocks & wood on the sand layer & fill in the gaps with sand & tiny pebbles/gravel. I never glue my stuff together because I like to change things around every so often, instead of making an entirely new tank. ^^; ETA: I just soak my wood until it's waterlogged & just set it in place. It never goes anywhere once its set.
love it. i would add some snails and or shrimp for enrichment with that water volume. they way u structured the hard scape i think most bettas would thrive in that tank. plenty of places near the top long finned can rest.
I saw this video a long time ago and I'm glad to see it again. I wish i had something like this in my living room. I was wondering if you still have it ? My compliments for this artwork !
