After a two year wait I added this offering from Tom Ford to my collection this year (2024). My first wearing a couple of months ago was just okay…not quite as interesting as I had hoped. Fortunately, I learned my lesson about doubting Tom Ford several years ago after a similar experience with Oud Wood…I put that one on the shelf for over a year because I was underwhelmed but now I love Oud Wood. As fate would have it yesterday I applied my Oud Du Bois attar in the morning for a yoga class but class was cancelled. So , I changed clothes and sprayed Ebene Fume as planned. I can’t swear that the layering made the difference BUT this was the Ebene Fume wearing experience I had hoped for. This thing performed and delighted me for the remainder of the day! So much so, that I’m going to wear Ebene Fume AGAIN today for St Paddy’s Day. Loving this one
When I first got my nose on Ebene Fume, I knew I had to have it. It does exactly what I was imagining it would be like. The pictures and ads do a great job at portraying the image of the scent. I remember seeing your review of Sahara Noir and wanting it. I will have to snab up a bottle. I think I've put it off for long enough.. lol ❤❤
While there are some outstanding Tom Fords that I love, like Tobacco Oud, I often find them to be overpriced for what they are scent-wise. Also, the bottles are unacceptably cheap quality considering the price point of the fragrance. They are flimsy, and the sprayers are mediocre at best. Cheapy houses like Al Haramain have better bottles than Tom Ford. Whenever I bought a Tom Ford and unpacked the bottle, I felt somewhat scammed. PS: Great to see you uploading regularly again!
I tested it a few months ago, I liked it a lot. I won't buy it, at least not now. For whatever reason I think I don't need it. It was an impression while testing it that if I already own Tobacco Oud and Tobacco Oud Intense, I'm covered by this type of smell, at that moment it ran through my head that they are in the same type of ocasion usage.
Came here two weeks after I got a bottle of ébéne fumé, a sample of tobacco oud and fougère d'argent... I legit can't stop putting them on myself just to S M E L L it. Great video!
Always on spot with reviews! I think you nailed this one, I blind bought it when it came out. To me it shares some nuances from Sahara Noire, Amber Absolute (just little bit), maybe even hint of Black Afgano. I really appreciate it's not clone of any of mentioned because it would be redundant in that case, as you said it is little bit muted compared to those but that makes this one really versatile and wearable. Think this one can be worn almost all year around
Being muted a little bit like you said is a double edge sword, it makes it more versatile but it also removes some of the appeal as you want that push. I do appreciate it for what it is.
Still haven't tried it and I really want to, never had the chance to try Sahara Noir, will look for a sample. The color of the juice is delicious! Definitely in my to buy list, thank you Marc!!!
Im loving this big time. Bought at Duty Free Heathrow s much better than Dept store in Toronto. Thanks for sharing the perfermor. Wish it was bit more of a beast like the older bottles
I was pleasantly surprised with this release. I like that tf went into the darker territory again and usually get decent performance. While it's a strong like, I don't know if it will make the love category. But solid as shit
I'm a fan of Rodrigo's work too. Never got to try this one on skin, but on paper, I was a little let down tbh. Not the smoke I was expecting and the wood fell a little flat. Pretty simple composition, so like clockwork, Fragrance World went ahead and did a clone called Ebony Fume that I hear is shockingly spot on. 😄 Par for the course these days. But it could be an indicator of what the formula is really worth. Ps, they also did an excellent clone of Roja's Elysium. 😂
