I'm a huge Habit Rouge fan. Been wanting to get my hands on this for years. It literally just popped up on fragrancenet. 50ml for 57$. Scooped it right away with 6 left in stock. I'm so happy right now. Btw you should try the recent Habit Rouge Rouge Prive and new Parfum. Both are outstanding.
When a perfume is called sport. That doesnt mean u have to wear it when u go for sport. Its always meant after the sport. Wearing any fragrance when u do sport is nonesins.
If you like dark, then Soriso is great. I was looking for the darkest chocolate I could find & it came to a side by side of Soriso & Akro Dark.(not including Black Afgano which I already own)I was surprised to find that Soriso smelled darker than Dark did on my skin, so that's the bottle I got. I agree that most Gourmande's don't smell expensive, but for some reason Soriso comes off as very classy on me. I guess that it's the very subtle woods in the back ground that make it come off that way. Anyway, thanks for the video Mr. Mark as this is one that I haven't tried yet
You summed up perfectly what I have always thought about gourmand fragrances and in particular niche gourmand scents : they do what a 30 USD scent could do. I am not a gourmand lover but Guerlain is one of the only brand that creates gourmand fragrances that I enjoy.
None of the vanillas from this house are very good, they are all too fluffy. They don't hold a candle to SDV or Lune Feline. Arso and Ambre Aurea are great, though. Initio is a terrible house. I've smelled nearly all of them, and none of them are bottle worthy.
Initio is childish? Wtf? Rehab is simple smelling? OFG? Psychedelic love? What designer does that? I don’t get what is like a designer. The frags are appealing to the masses, but they are out together nicely and the ingredients are nice.
Initio fragrances are mostly worn and appreciated by men and women under 25. Mostly. And if people under 20 could afford such price tags they would totally love it. So the scent profile and DNA as most so called influencers say is simply young. Again - mostly
@@lansvale28 so you have access to sales data? Well, just can't imagine that the majority of grown ups in their 30s and 40s wear aphrodisiac, side effects, blessed baraka or oud for greatness. Sorry for not mentioning any sources
I think he associated sweetness with childish because a lot of designers that appeal try to appeal to the younger crowd lean on sweetness. For me, it just seems like other scents do it better. Oud for greatness for example, , just smelled like Royal oud by Creed with the sweetness dialed up to me
The last time I wore this it lasted through 3 showers, so I imagine you can still smell today especially after 3 sprays! A beastly fragrance and possibly my favorite from the brand.
I found your channel only yesterday through the RU-vid recommendations, which recommended your sampling samples of Interlude Black Iris, which is a scent I really enjoy. I checked it out because there aren't really that many reviews of it, and I was interested in what others would think of it. Honestly, you immediately caught my attention. I feel the passion and honesty in your videos, unlike some other RU-vidrs who try to obviously push stuff. So, you got me to subscribe, and I've probably watched around 10 hours of your videos already, especially of the Desert Gem collection (which I adore) and your takes on Amouage (a great house). Also, this video is really great, and I'll check it out next time I'm in store. Somehow, I've always ignored it. Best regards from Germany
I love this house bro. Visited them at head office in Rome back in 2011 ,met the manager, nice folks. I was looking to be an agent for them here in Western Australia but sadly I didn’t do it in the end. I still have their huge catalogue that I had a number of cards sprayed a put in between the pages. Super powerful and well made, the scent was there for months. Nice work mate. Cheers.
I don’t think it’s that good… 😂 kidding, I always wanted to hear your take on this one, I know it’s good and I want to have it but, no, I will not, I like Ambers, it’s just not my favorite note, I want other things first. If I happen to find it at a great price, I will get it. Thanks for the Unboxing Marc!!!
I've been wanting to try this house, but they have so many that I've been waiting to find "the one" that calls to me to sample it. I think I may have just found it.
Im really shocked you didn't mention anything about ambergris. I own the older bottle with the silver cap and I heard this one got reformulated due to the fact that the real ambergris in this would crystalize on the sprayer and prevent it from spraying. I can attest to this because some crystals do form on the sprayer that i have to keep clearing and sometimes pick the sprayer with a needle.
This is my favourite amber in 6 years in this journey. Also my top 5 of all time. This is what I imagine when I picture and amber stone found deep in the caves of a jungle that holds a pre-historic insect and when you crack it open you get the amber smell the smokiness, some animalic facets, it is perfect for me.
Young Marc just still had hope for the future. 😄 He didn't know how far industry standards would fall. Quantity over quality n' all. And sometimes the juice in the bottle changes over time. One of the reasons this hobby is so fickle! 😆 Incidentally, I recently started revisiting Encre Noire Sport and it's sooo much better than I remember. Nostalgia maybe. Yet another variable. 😂
I got a free sample of this with another decant that I ordered recently, and WOW is this one good! Dense, resinous amber with great performance! It almost has a boozy, honey-like sweetness to my nose. Love it!
Ive maintained for a while that Ambra Aurea inspired many of the big bold ambers that have followed it. Patchouly has to be in my top 3 from the house though.
