I don't think it's fair to criticize a fragrance house based off of a returned fragrance. The presentation actually looks pretty high end. I got a chance to test out most of the top sellers of the line last summer in Milano. Had high hopes for a few but none of them really caught my nose, at least none enough to warrant the insane price tag...except one. At first I thought Rain is a solid interpretation of the GIT DNA but perhaps not quite good enough to warrant a purchase given how expensive it was. Sure, I'm the biggest fan of the DNA(I have about 4 fragrances that are all effective clones of or heavily inspired by GIT) but if I'm going to spend top dollar it better blow my socks off and bring something new, even if in a subtle way, to the style. Fast forward to a couple of months ago when I decided to include it in a large sample order I made. I thought I might as well give it the full on evaluation. So I put it on and only went out with some friends for coffee and it suddenly hits me. This creamy(but not as creamy as Chez Bond) moderately spicy(more so than both GIT and Chez Bond), rich multi dimensional and slightly darker(more so than anything so far) scent had me fully intoxicated. It put me in an amazing mood and I could sense it putting others around me in a fantastic mood too. At this point I can confidently say it is in fact better than both GIT and CB and the best iteration of that DNA so far. It smells luxurious sophisticated and very high quality. It is claimed to be a parfum extract concentration and I can confidently say it most likely is. Literally 0.2 ml out of a small 1ml vial(effectively 2 - 3 sprays) was enough to have me and everyone around me enjoying it for many hours( 8+). So at this point I was sure I wanted to include it in my collection but would have to patiently wait for it to be discounted somewhere. I saw that Maxaroma had it at one point for around 270 dollars so I thought hopefully they would have it in stock again somewhere down the line. Luckily I managed to find it for $280 at So Avant Garde and jumped on it(expecting the delivery in a few days). Even if I could not get it for a discount I'm sure I would have eventually spent the $405 full retail to buy it, getting it on discount made the purchase that much more fulfilling. In finishing, I don't think the house deserves to be heavily poo pooed. There are countless niche brands that I cannot find a single fragrance I like from them. Hell I only managed to get my first Xerjoff last summer, I literally could not find a single one I liked enough to buy until then and they have 170+ fragrances in their collection. I think the quality is there in terms of ingredients for Royal Crown but the high asking price is what puts most people off and until I discovered Rain would have agreed with Marc that it is simply not worth it even with a heavy discount. At this point I look forward to properly testing more of the collection(especially some 10 - 15 that I have not smelled yet). Moral of the story, never make up your mind conclusively until you've given the fragrance a proper evaluation, at least 25% of my collection(all highly cherished) was a result of overcoming initial apprehension, dislike even, after a proper thorough evaluation.
Ryzfrags34, MrOz, Eric of Scentrifugal Force and Sebastian Jara have all commented to owning and appreciating their bottles from Royal Crown. It surely isn’t just shill RU-vidrs commenting on the house. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion Marc, and I appreciate the honesty as always.
Got Fracas recently and if you want Tuberose just get Fracas or Antoine Lie has used Tuberose in the most unique way over the last 10 to 15 years, if you want to smell a proper "youtuber" brand you need to smell Les Abstraits ... I am sure you would love them
Someone on Reddit did a post of RU-vid thumbnails of this brand for the same fragrance from all the big influencers all from the same day. It was funny 😂
Recently I've been big into this specific indie house, interested to see if you've heard of it; Claudio Zucca. He's been gaining traction but is still relatively small. He has a lot of very fruity, floral, and joyful combinations. It's very much Italy in a bottle, whether you're thinking walks on the beach or sweet snacks, florals and festivals, whatever. I would've given my favourite picks, but honestly, that would almost just list all of his bottles, but here goes; - velvet rose - mineral wood - idi di marzo - eden amber - deep water - musk tuberose Lots of people also love Cereal Break but that one was a bit too lactonic for me.
ScentSplit has his collect. Admittedly Im not fond of rose forward fragrances but I really enjoy floral fragrances with some depth. I prefer yellow florals but white florals are good too. Which fragrances would you suggest I try first?
@@caseyplunkett6083 if we're talking Claudio Zucca still, then DEFINITELY Idi Di marzo. It has some great yellow florals while also incorporating some benzoin, balsam, myrrh and mate. You get the florals as well as a sweetness with some earthy and woody notes
@@caseyplunkett6083 I have not tried Maoira parfums. For Musk Tuberose it's a warm tuberose forward fragrance, very 'creamy' tuberose. The musk is mostly noticeable in the warmth and not really as much of a musky smell at all, so if you just think tuberose and white florals (but again.. 99% tuberose) with a hint of peach and ambrette in the background.
You say No I say Yes! Please review the rest of this brand. Been a bit since you’ve completely dissed a brand. I live for it haha. Put it against a $20 Lattafa and see what happens. 😁
I have one bottle from this company and it wasn’t a return it was new in box. I bought Royal Crown Rain and it’s a Green Irish Tweed inspired fragrance (it’s a clone of I’m being honest but a good clone). It came highly rated compared to the original in its current formulation and I agree. The packaging was a bit ostentatious but my box was clean with the bottle and cap in tact. It’s held up over the almost two years I’ve owned it. All that said I didn’t pay retail for it and wouldn’t have paid retail for it either. They’re overpriced. I would love to see your thoughts on Boadiceia The Victorious as a house.
I just recently purchased a bottle of Nocturna at retail and I absolutely love it. I also really like Le Petites Coquin. The smell and sillage of Nocturna is intoxicating. I certainly wouldn’t fault anyone from steering clear of this house as it’s objectively overpriced. Nevertheless I decided to treat myself and I’m glad that I had.
Cheers Marc, yeah all that glitters is not gold, I didn’t get sucked into this house , it reminds me of Clive Christian to be honest, I have X for men which I really like but if ya look into the cap and bottle they are cheaply made nothing to shout luxury, cap is poorly moulded and bottle is fused in two half’s seam plainly visible, yeah, however I’m looking forward to some more of these reviews just maybe we may get a Shut my Mouth moment haha haha . Happy Sunday buddy 🤛💪
I was interested in two of their offers. As I trust your reviews, can you please review Habanos and Royal Tobacco from the same brand? I would be glad.
Hello Robes08, Guerlain release a beautiful Aqua Allegoria FORTE Neroli Vetiver. Are you going to present us fragrances selection for this summer ? Ce serait super d'avoir ta sélection😇
Salut Marc! Gosh I laughed so hard when you said you would search Royal Crown on YT to see who are the bozos hyping this brand. One YTer name came straight to my mind when you said it and I know he has hyped quite a few references from that brand.
I’m glad you are delving into these exorbitant price niche brands like royal crown, roja, and BTV these need more spotlight on them with REAL options not fabricated ones for money.
Gee, I don't know. Chanel can learn something from Royal Crown. Their Les Exclusifs line is sold for big money but comes in a white cardboard box. Imagine how well they would sell if they came in a white faux leather box.
Marc I think if fragrance brand send those free bottle fragrance influencers toilet water in bottle. They will says it's smells very masculine and compliments to moon.
It absolutely is. Just search the brand and see BBB, Redolessence, Cuba, and more all did reviews on like the same day and then never mentioned them again.
@RichMitch lmaooo you dont know what you are talking about. Because you make vidoes doesnt mean you know much lol. The company is from 2011 before youtubers were popular or anything they dont give out free bottles or rarely ever do like most niche houses. Even then their family did this sht before ur great grandparents were even born. Dont be a clown
