Solar doesn't mean it goes forever. The capacitor inside will eventually reach its end of life, so unless you know how to swap in a new one, the watch becomes a paperweight at that point. Battery changes will definitely be more frequent than capacitor failure, but you can replace the battery indefinitely.

Solar has been known to go over 20 years LOOOOOOOOL There really is no need to worry! And even when/if it does need replacing, it will still be a fraction of the price of a mechanical watch. But, in reality you could just buy another one anyway. Even if you only got 10 years out of a solar powered watch it pretty much pays for itself. Literally a no lose situation!

@@nicodimus2222 They have capacitors that can be easily replaced by a competent watch repair shop. And very few people actually keep ALL their watches for over 20 years!
The battery will not last forever says it right in the instructions! But it will last anywhere from ten to 15 years without having to replace the solar cell I know it's a hard truth but it is just that.
@@goatreviews no problem man yeah its definitely a longer life than just a battery also it cost 30 to 40 bucks plus whatever it cost for the jeweler or watch maker to replace.

I am up to Casio watch number 29 in my watch collection ... I am going to buy just 2 more then that is it... One for each day of the month. I so wish I had my first ever Casio Digital watch when I was a small child a Casio F-100 Can I make a watch recommendation for you, please... The Casio DW5900-1 AKA Three-eyed Walter. I like this watch so much that I bought a 2nd one as a keep as brand new will all the tags on and has never been out of the box. I paid just £61 GBP for this watch here in the UK or $116 Australian Dollars. One more I highly recommend is the Casio G-Shock DW5600E-1v ..It is pretty much as close as you can get to the very first Casio G-Shock from 1983. Thank you for this video.

B5600 and GBD200 seems to be the most interesting ones. They can be modded with cool different bezels and band. Actually It could be interesting to watch ur mod of GBD200 🙄
Thanks, Serge! 🙏 They're certainly great watches. I'd love to mod my GBD-200! I was not aware that they produced aftermarket bezels and straps for this model, as it is quite unique with the 'connection piece' between the strap and case. Where might I find these parts?
Great collection and many varieties of watch models: every event a watch! I hope you can bring the “Gamewatch” back to life, I love those models! I had the "GC-7 Cosmo Flight" but with my carelessness as a kid it got ruined a lot and was then lost in a move. I'm sorry but I don't have a time machine so I'm rooting for yours!

@goatreviews I'd thought about removing the strap completely but the box was a present and it didn't seem right! Ordered a black steel band/bezal set for my 5610 but order was cancelled due to the factory not making the plain black one at the moment so very sad right now as all the other Ebay vendors are out too. And don't do the others like aliexpress! 😪
