also kimberly lemming's books are probably the only smutty books i've read in one sitting. i love her books SO much. i also love that she pairs her black main characters with fantastical asian men 💖💖
I read Children of Blood and Bone last fall and really liked it. I need to read the sequel soon. Hope you love it! I added Angel of Greenwood to my TBR! I forgot I had the Maggie Banks book! I need to get that in my pile to read soon. I also have an insane amount of books-obviously (since I’m forgetting about them!). 🤣 All the solidarity for the book buying habit though. 😉
black sun is still one of my favorite books to this day. i haven't read the sequel yet but it's also one of those "i don't want it to be over" things and a little bit of "i'm worried how it ends because i didn't hear as much hype for it."

I love your dedication to diverse reading!! I got lots of good suggestions here. Always appreciate finding reads with black characters that aren't all slavery and segregation. Those are important, but as a black woman, I deserve some fun reads too, lol. Fairies, adventures, romance, etc

I want to do some book recommendations for that after I actually read more of these cause sometimes books you dont expect will take too real of a turn OR, on the flip side, wont be as bad as you think based on the description. 🎨🎨 So many of these sound so good! I'm curious which Jasmine Guillory you didn't care for - we usually have identical romance taste and I want to collect her books but I've definitely heard some are better than others. I LOVED By the Book though.
