I also see scenes in my head when I am reading and it’s so fun. Have you read Book Lovers? I’m reading it currently and it’s very fun! Also, a fun thriller/mystery without any scary elements is Where’d You Go, Bernadette?

Archer's voice lives in my head rent-free. That book really did a number on me! love and Other Words was great too, beautifully written but as I'm reading more, I find myself pulling away from YA romances. ✨What about you???? ✨ I love historical fiction and marriage tropes currently.

Some booksnobs will turn their back on Colleen Hoover because according to them she uses cliche/risky tropes. But I think they're just jealous of her success. Add a little of misogyny to the conversation, which is already attached to 'chick lit' (books about women written by women) and you have a whole section of the literary world who thinks they're too good for her.
