Yeah been stuck at 151 for a while, granted going to 152 is a LOT of people. I didn't even ask for this but I'll remind him the moment he hits it even if it's a year or two from now so he can play it in explorer or wherever works.

Tried a deck like this the other day. I don't think I cast dire strain on my opponent once because they were all mono colour decks. I just ramped with it. Oh, manual tap if you do that or it will mess you around by not tapping the land you wanted to sacrifice.

Bloodthirsty Adversary would be pretty sweet in this deck imo. Would help a lot with board control in the mid-game against creature decks, or really punish multicolor midrange by rebuying the Wildfires.

Both Cleansing Wildfire and Dire-Strain Rampage should work really well with Confounding Conundrum. Verdant Mastery, although a bit janky, is another option. Since Conundrum replaces itself maybe its worth a try? Edit: I just subscribed out of fear of being called out by Jin-Gitaxias. I fear nobody, but that thing... it scares me

I had to face this exact decklist yesterday with my grixis bombardment. I had to scoop in the end. It was just frustrating to see my opponent just destroy 2-3 of my lands each turn from turn 3 onwards.

you know what dire-strain rampage would be good to help with? Ramping out Prismatic Bridge or Jin-Gitaxias :) but you don't wanna run out of basics, you should probably add a few cards until you get about 120, 130 or so

In standard maybe. In historic/ explorer, I've destroyed 15, 18 lands with regularity - often in a single turn. And by "destroy," I mean exile.

Hey CGB, could you elaborate once more why you activated the Field of Ruin at their upkeep/before their draw? I dont quite get it

It’s so if they tap the land for mana before it’s destroyed they will lose the one mana when it passes the upkeep phase as otherwise you may be giving them additional mana

When you pass a phase (so upkeep to draw step) any banked mana goes away. Before cgb destroys a land, the enemy floats a mana first. If he doesn't pass the turn, the enemy gets an extra mana. But doing it at upkeep and going to their draw step stops them from 1 extra mana they shouldn't have.

He wanted to deny them the possibility to tap the targeted land for mana and use it in a main phase. If you destroy the land in one of the main phases they can tap it, it gets destroyed and they search for a new one and now you have basically ramped them.

I'm not seeing an explanation for not doing it during his turn, so here it is: if they have untapped mana during your turn, you want it to go to waste. I've seen field of Ruin on second main ramp right into turn-three memory deluge.

In Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso was more of the villan then Johnny Lawrence in the The Karate Kid, he even starts off as an asshole in Cobra Kai. I was born in the 80s so I've done my homework on that haha.
