Think it depends on the group like. If they get teams that shouldn’t be in the competition like Aston Villa or PAOK it’ll be a long lonely journey but if they play the teams that belong in the conference league I can honestly see them reaching the knockout stages. Barry Robson plays good football.

They'll need to improve a lot. Even at Conference level there are quality sides. Maybe they will improve though. They haven't started the season well and they have a lot of new players.
@@jonstewart94 KI Klaksvik are in the same pot, so we won't get them. Not sure that we'll be able to make much progress in the Europa Conference this season, but if we can get a couple of decent results then that'll build up some co-efficient points and hopefully next time we're in the group stages in Europe we'll be able to get a more favourable draw.
If the fans were top drawer they would support their local club rarher than gloryhunt celtic or sevco. Scotland has one of the highest rates of gloryhunting per capita in Europe, possibly the world, which explains why the league is so weak, just like the gloryhunters character.

I saw Häcken play vs TNS in the first qualy of the Champions League. Brought around 100 fans to Park Hall and literally sang the whole match. Unreal support. Bad luck Dons. Good luck in the Conference League
Every single club in Sweden is incredibly well supported and they have a very underrated and undiscovered supporter culture Häcken is one of the least supported clubs in Allsvenskan and they are still decent.

I was gutted that I could not get to the game last night but delighted to see Pittodrie looking so good and with such an atmosphere. Conference League will be tough given the draw today but I am sure we will be better placed once the new signings start to gel. Häcken won last year, and are currently positioned 3rd this year. The Swedish league works the same way as most other leagues, except it starts in spring, so the chsmpions aren't as "fresh" when they enter European qualifiers.
I was about to say the same. Having said that Hacken were fresh enough to easily beat TNS. Couldn't beat KI from the Faroe Islands. @footyadventures maybe a trip to Sweden next season?

A mid-season team might have more injuries, or might have lost their momentum in the 9-10 months since the end of their previous sesson, or sold their best playets over the winter transfer window (which often happens to good teams in smaller leagues). But your argument is also true, especially since Häcken are good this season too.
@@Sdea1903 maybe true to some extent but there is a summer break in the Swedish season anyway and the transfer window of course mean the teams squads are changed a lot during summer.
You can plainly see we were not match sharp on Thursday night, slow to backtrack when we lost posession, Miovski and Duk with glaring misses when through on goal, they would never miss those normally. Its all match sharpness and new players not gelling immediately.
Aberdeen have a difficult task in the Europa Conference being in the same group as Eintracht Frankfurt, POAK & HJK Helsinki. You expect maximum points against the Finns but the other 4 games will be hard for Aberdeen.

Honestly they should’ve won this game, players must work on the finishing. Was impressed with McGrath and McGarry considering I’ve never heard of either of them. Miovski is a great player, as is duk, but they need to score their chances. Good to see at least one Scottish team looking competent in Europe.
Really frustrating watching Scottish teams in Europe. Feels like that Rangers Europa run was an anomaly and that they all struggle to compete against any meaningful opposition. Hearts and Aberdeen getting heavily beaten by teams from Greece and Sweden. Both countries below Scotland in UEFA coefficient. More needs to be done to improve SPL club’s chances on the big stage.
The mid-80s seem like a golden era for Scottish club football, with clubs other than Celtic and Rangers winning trophies. I don't have a solution but Scottish football would benefit from greater competition instead of the Old Firm winning everything.

Gutted that we lost but when Miovski had that miss in the second half I knew it wasn't going to be our night, and we were definitely beaten by the better team. Sorry that it wasn't possible for a Footy Adventures video about a win for Aberdeen in Europe, but losing last night means there's now a perfect excuse to come back for another video when we're in the group stage.
About a dozen Hacken fans in the opposite end of the stand you were in. Had more stewards watching them than fans. The Red Shed looked lively would have liked to been closer to there. No 37 scored a cracking goal made it look so easy.
BK Häcken once actually counted stewards and officials in their home attendence accounting (no joke). But strangely enough there have been supporters of that club popping up in Gothemburg during the last year since they won the league. What a coincidence!
That one hacken player was levels above everyone else but Aberdeen had enough chances to level the tie and was that miss if the season already. Don't know if duk wants out didn't look interested until the end

Scots are so confident but in reality swedish teams beat scottish on a regular basis. Malmö have beaten Celtic and Rangers and even Häcken, a team with no fans that noone really cares about in Sweden now beats Aberdeen.

I don't know why it is that European teams are so much more clinical and better at game management than Scottish teams. There was so little between Hacken and Aberdeen, same with Hearts and POAK but our teams always seem to suffer in the fine margins.
Tghey just seem to think about the game more. The strategic side of the game instead of just running around at 150 mph. Scottish football seems too much about effort.
PAOK Were dirty cheats and so was the Spanish Refiree who aided them at every cost. It's a hard task playing all these continental Euro teams who dive and pretend to have been fouled anytime you go near them. The governing bodies to stamp out the cheating. It's a disgrace.
That's exactly what is said in Sweden when a Swedish team lose in Europe as well. And probaby in most countries also. People shouldn't try to conclude too much about the state of football in a country based on international cups because the sample size of matches is too small. That Faeroese club reached the ECL due to a set piece specialist hitting the jackpot several times and it tells us precisely nothing about Faeroese football in general.
if qualifying was purely knock out games and no parachute drop ins . then no Scottish clubs would be playing in Europe this year and that includes Celtic had they had to play a qualify game as there not good enough either . Scottish game needs a complete overhaul but I wouldn't hold my breath with the inept ones that run Scottish football .
