@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks for the update, I was wondering how you faired. I have a few ATT repairman friends who work down there. It's going to be busy for a while. Best wishes for you all! 🙏
Oh WoW, hope you are mostly good without power. A neighbor made us coffee with their generator. So many cold showers, canned foods, blocked roads with tree debris. Living in South FL I've had that happen years ago from a hurricane 2005 Wilma yeah about 2 weeks our roads were littered. Still on 12900KF 4090. Think I want to play Black Myth Wukong at some point but taking it easy.
Always hold my breath when LA gets hit with a storm. Too many memories of what the state looked like after Katrina to pretend it’s nothing to worry about. Glad you and the fam are good, dude.
Tbh, I just tried to build through Microcenter for a build, and all of their prices were either the same, or not competitive to other places I could buy my parts at much higher convenience. This is the second time I've tried to build through them, just to eventually look elsewhere, part by part.
The PS5 Pro - $700 stand - $30 The disc drive - $80 and pay $80 each year to play on line you look at best part $900 so it is intresting to see you take one this and fact you come in at $850 is outstanding Now if me at I try to find the extra $80 to get the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D ar around $200 worth it as save cash on long run
@@danielboyas7645 that fair call but even with extra $80 I think the add vaule of PC for thinks like school / work etc is worth it and fact you could upgrade in future on subject of upgrading take this into accout with you PSU if you going to save up and get a better GPU make PSU has extra power need to run I made this mistake and replace good PSU
@jamesgodfrey1322 I don't disagree that a pc can do more than game. Which is why I would not recommend anyone buy the PS5 Pro. I would save a couple hundred more and build a better pc for 900 dollar or more. That or buy the base 500 dollar PS5
After gaming on a PC for over a decade I can’t imagine using a console again. Not bashing those who prefer PS or XBox, it’s just the difference is undeniable.
@@Mano_on_Point joined the club indeed! 4080 Super is truly something for a first PC. Enjoy it, my friend, and welcome to a fantastic gaming experience.
unless youre playing on 1080p get a 4070 Super. DLSS is a real game changer, it looks way better than FSR and Nvidia also offers way better RT and PT performance. The VRAM wont matter while DLSS enhances the picture quality a lot.
@@seymourcarson jason is someone who only recommends money to fps ratio decisions. But these days for 1440p you need upscalers to achieve decent fps. And AMD has a very bad upscaler in FSR hence youre forced to buy Nvidia with DLSS which is light years better than FSR. On 1080p you can play native but 1440p and 4k are ment to be played with upscalers and thats why his recommendations are kinda bad from a value perspective, its only good if you wanna play counter strike all day where you turn down settings.
Thanks Jason, I used an older guide of yours for a 7800x3d build with a 7900xt and very similar to the 1800 dollar build. Absolutely amazing experience gaming for my first PC, couldn’t have done it without your help
on PS5 pro for $699.99 after getting Disk player is $79.99 and PS5 stand is 29.99 and $79.99 sony online gaming is for one year..or $9.99 monthly for one year $119.88 told cost $889.96 min or 929.85..It just time to move to PC will kick PS5 out of the ballpark and games cost way less too...
There's another hidden aspect too. You more or less need to get that disc drive to get games outside the Sony store. Otherwise, they have a monopoly on pricing. Massively overlooked detail that doesn't exist on pc because there's many marketplaces competing for your money which makes them want to put on sales more often.
I just bought components for a rig two days ago. The total was roughly $1800 and pretty similar to your list same gpu, bought a 9600x despite the salty reviews. I cashed in all my Amex points and only paid about 800 cash. I'm so excited. I haven't owned a gaming pc since 2017 before I enlisted.
I just built my first pc. I wanted to build one for almost a decade and with the price of the PS5 pro I couldn't be happier! I spent €1200 in Greece for the following: CPU: R5 7500F AliExpress Cooler: Thermalright Assassin Spirit EVO 120 rgb GPU: Gigabyte RX 6800XT Gaming OC used for €385 Motherboard: Asrock B650 Livemixer RAM: 32gb 6000 CL30 Fury Beast Storage: Kingston KC3000 2TB NVMe SSD PSU: Corsair RM850X Case: Fractal Design Pop Air
700-950$ is an awkuard spot for a new builds (specially in a pure performance gaming Pc), where it's possible to build in AM5, but you end up with less performance than If you built in AM4, but you have way more upgradability
@diegoemanuel8641 i love this reasonable comment and agree , I just feel for the price I personally wouldn't invest in am4, 5800x3d is barely keeping up with non-x3d 7000series, I base my builds off of price to performance of base platform such as Mobo,cpu,ram,m.2,and I use 850w for ease of use with almost all gpus, I Honestly feel gpus are there own budget
Jason you keep suggesting the AOC CQ27G3Z for $270. For an extra $10, i would much prefer the AOC Q27G3XMN MiniLed 180hz for the HDR experience(1000nits tested by Rtings).
Id been researching, getting caught up on what the market looks like and what the tech looks like now, and watching your channel and others for weeks in preparation for my first pc build in over a decade. Then someone put up a brand new prebuilt running a 7800X3D and 4070Ti Super and 32gb of ddr5 ram for $1k and i nanaged to get it so... No pc build for me for a while. Still enjoying all of your videos though!
The $1200 option is basically my build part for part, aside from the psi and ssd because I feel like there's a decent amount of good options, so I'm just going to buy whatever brand I trust and is cheapest. Good to know my build is gonna work 👌
Everyone bashing the pro but still juicing over a $4090 for 1750+ 32gb ram is mandatory for a gaming PC now. 12-16gb VRAM a PC CAN be better but dollar for dollar the ps5 is a good deal. Some people work all day on a PC and hate coming home to sit infront of a monitor again. Some days I game on the PC, others I love my ps5. Personally choice people. Also a console doesn't have the nerd/geek stigma a PC does.
Jason you're looking so much healthier and better since I started watching you! I remember when you had 400 subscribers and you weren't looking so good, and I have been following you for a while so I know. Amazing video as always and have a very nice upcoming weekend! Cheers to the entire team as well, you're doing a great job and deserve some praise!
If you replace the RX 7600 with the RX 6650 XT in your $850 1440P Powerhouse Value PC down to a mere $715, with all new parts. I don't know for sure if that'd be a PS5 Pro killer but if u were willing to hit the used market, you could get a 6750 XT or even a 6800 that should get you there, all for around $700-750.
I see the 7900xtx is discounted to 899.99 was going to pull the trigger on the 7900xt but have the extra if it’s that much more of a boost in the 4k gaming area. 😅😅 back to scouting data 📊
I know this episode is focused on three builds for September, and they all look great, but man, this has to be one of the hardest times to commit to a new build. With potential new graphics cards coming soon, October Prime Day right around the corner, and Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals in November, it feels like waiting could save a lot of money or offer better options. If someone can hold off a bit longer, it might be worth it given all the big deals and releases coming up
I disagree personally for a lot of builders. The sales are never more than $15-$20 off, the new stuff is going to be expensive and hard to get, and I always recommend people factor in the value of their time. But truly it’s up to the individual
Great video as usual. Please consider making a video about PC building for VR. I've seen people talking about VR mods for Cyberpunk and a bunch of other great games and I'm very curious about what it takes to have a decent experience.
I'm thinking of something like the $850 build, but I want pure performance. Not a penny spent on appearance. If it happens to look like it was built in '95, so be it.
JASON - thank you for this great Info ! I just upgraded my Ryzen 5600X CPU to 5700X3D -- WHICH rgb COOLER do I need - AND is the ARCTIC MX-6 thermal paste good enough for this ????
I put together a system with partially used parts. I got an amazing deal on a B550 board, 32gb of DDR4 3600 and Ryzen 7 5700g for $180. I went with the montech XR case and got an 850w high rated PSU hoping to spend big in November for a 7900 level GPU. Very interested in the rumored 8000 series GPUs.
Jason the ps5 is alot closer to the 6700 rather than the 2070. It seems like, that is what it seems the system was based in it’s just a more power starved 6700. The shocks between the 2 are pretty similar.
I just wanted to drop by to let you know how much I adore the video content you create. Your passion and creativity really shine through, and I find myself eagerly looking forward to each new piece you put out. Keep up the fantastic work-I’m always impressed and inspired by what you do! But I think that AMD Ryzen 5 5600 is too weak for AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT on 1920 × 1080 pixels screen resolution for General Tasks. This configuration has 28.7% of processor bottleneck .
Thanks! I wouldn't recommend 1080p for the 7700 XT, mostly because that GPU is a very good 1440p one but also to lessen the CPU bottleneck in games. I wouldn't worry about the FPS bottleneck on the desktop as those tasks are super easy for the GPU.
@@kelley09162 Dang, it gets overwhelming with all the forums and suggestions.. I overpaid for the nitro+ by prob $100 vs going with a standard GPU... Could have just got the 7900GRE.
Good morning Janson, crew and kitties!! glad everyone is safe!. . . still waiting on ma' build (retirement build 25') really waiting on the new stuff but know but know i gotta buy it bugs and all (LOL) regardless, i know i can get a great recommendation / build from this channel . . . so no worries
Is that what you're looking for? If so I could try and help you pick out the parts. You could also check out the Lian Li A3 Case as it's a small Micro-ATX Case and would allow you to save on the Motherboard and PSU.
IMO, base on some research I did, the sweet spot for a card that I can consider with "Value" for gaming would be either Rx 6750xt (Mid performance, does amazing in 1440p and extremely well in 1080p), Rx 6800 and xt variant (High performance, does extremely well in 1440p and 1080p), and possibly Rx 7900GRE (Extremely High performance, 7900gre is in a class of its own, if it weren't only with its price points I can consider purchasing a 7900GRE rn but I don't see myself really playing maxed out settings in games, but that 20gb vram is making me consider). So if your budgets for GPU are at 300$ below I suggest the 6750xt, if its 450$ I suggest the 6800xt (this card aged like fine wine and its basically the 7800xt at a lower cost), and if your budget is 550$+ best value would be the 7900gre. Anyways, great vid overall!
do you have any plans on uploading more often? I think you are the best channel about pc building on youtube right now and i want more content! (sorry im too broke for members channel :(
As someone who decided to wait for zen 5 in order to build a new PC and got greatly disappointed, this period is a very bad period to build a PC (in EU at least). Prices are even worse that what they were 3-6months ago and you are basically buying old hardware for prices way too close to msrp. I trusted amd to impress me with zen5 and i got backstabbed.
The fact that you can pick up a 7500f for $100 or 7600/5700X3D for $130, the PS5 Pro doesn't really make any sense at all. If you already have a PS5, look into building around a 5600/5700X3D or entry level AM5 like the 7500f/7600 or get a base PS5. There's also bundle deals from MC that's always available if you live near a site and Newgg for the 5700X3D for $260 or a tad more for the 7600/X deal for the rest of us.
Great vid! Hope you'll recover well from the hurricane and all is well. I love these gaming builds full of information, but would love to get a similar video for productivity focus or productivity gaming shared focus, just to see how much different they'd be and get a bit more wide ranging relevant info. Again, thanks, and all the best there with the recovery!
To be honest for anyone doing basic productivity I’d recommend the exact same builds as here. Only if you are don’t professional level would I recommend something different and if so, see our 9950X build guide
Great value. I don't think I could go down to below 32 1440P for past few years my future 4K monitor has to be that or larger I feel. PS5 Pro beaten by PCs.
Jason, coming from the UK. I usually message you on my other account haha. I hope the storm has passed and everything is ok without any damage. I just bought all the parts for my £1100 PC build. 7600 (non x) ASRock B650M wifi Montech XR Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory (it was on offer so cheaper than TeamGroup) ID cooling Frost Flow 240mm However... I haven't bought a GPU. I'm looking at the 7900XT but I'm really worried that AMD is going to drop the RDNA 4 cards really soon and I'll waste my money and feel stupid in the Price to Performance departmernt. What is your suggestion? I'm thinking of trying to borrow a friend's 1080ti for 6 months becasue at the moment I only play CS2 anyway.
@@kelley09162 Those are the two im looking at! Worried that something will come out in the next few months that has much better price to performance. Or that I could get 7900xtx performance for price of GRE or 7800xt etc
Hi Jason. You have been a great source of knowledge and guidance. I have an issue that may not be appropriate here but I need to ask. I am building my first PC and have pretty much everything connected (don’t know if it is all correct yet). I am installing a Gigabyte 4090 OC, except when I opened it up they have a 16-pin to a 4- splitter of 8-pin connectors that would not fit my Corsair 1000 W PSU even if it was long enough. How are folks handling this? Amazon has the same type of connector with four splits that would fit the PSU… but the PSU 8-pin connectors only use 6 of the 8 pins in each connector. Is there a proper solution? Thank you for all of your help. Love your cat, I have 3.
All systems go seems now is a great time to build a new PC. Happy to know you all are all right and safe. Keep taking care of each other, be safe and God bless. 👍💪🐈⬛💪✌
That’s all Ryzen builds that have that warning, it’s just reminding you that you need a compatible motherboard. I wish they would remove that it’s confusing for folks. But these combos are all ready to go
Just moved from ps4 to pc this week my main issue thus far with pc is all these pc launchers for different games. So for first desendents i use steam for apex i have to use ea app then have to use battlenet then have to use epic games then all those different account it is frustrating on console everything is in one place for me this is a downside in pc gami bg
Cheap in the USA not Canada add 30% to 50% onto that price our wages are close to the same these days for comparable jobs and we get significant more tax up here. A 7800xt costs $700 not including tax for the cheapest option for example.
Due to my 8th gen Mobo having 3 (of 4) mem slots die (don't know why), I am going with a i5-12400f ($165AUD), RTX 3060 ($440AUD). I game at 1440p, not many new games at all. The RX 7700 XT start at $700AUD!
In my region, deepcool is not banned...so to cool my r5 7600 what would you prefer, Deepcool ag400 plus or thermalright assassin spirit 120 Thanks for the help...
Any suggestions for a 32 inch 4k 144hz+ monitor that doesn't break the bank? HDR is great, but since most of these are HDR 400 (which isn't that good), I could take it or leave it.
Been subscribed and watching your channel for years now and it has helped SO much figuring out my build. All the parts have finally arrived, just have to get time to assemble the PC. AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, XFX Merc310 RX7900XT, MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk, WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD, 2X16 GB T-Force Vulcan 6000MHz CL 30 RAM, Corsair 4000D airflow, Corsair RM850E, Phantom Spirit 120 SE, Arctic P12 Max, MSI MPG 271QRX. Just need a keyboard/mouse combo with Cherry red silent keys. Suggestions? Thanks to you and your channel for your great and timely content! It is much appreciated.
@@tomvandervoort2437 so for the Mouse the Razer Basilisk V3 or DeathAdder V3 For the Keyboard there isn't many options with Cherry Red Keys but there are similar alternatives. Are you looking for a Full Sized Keyboard?
Best wishes on the build!! I won’t really have a keyboard rec sorry. But show off a build pic when you’re done if you want on Twitter/threads @pcbuilderjason
