I recently got a cheap E-M5 and I’m loving it. Great colors and the stabilization is amazing for such an old camera. There is a trick for focus peaking by assigning one of the art filters to a spare button. Great video.
4:20 On focus peak: Olympus never bothered to update the E-M5 firmware to add focus peaking, but you can apply a cool little hack that gives you the same thing to some extend: Change your picture mode to art filter 11, set its type to II. And now you have focus peaking. You can assign these settings to a custom settings, then assign those custom settings to a function button you can toggle on/off when you need peaking. You're welcome.
This was fun. Bikes are cool - I have a Trek too: just a hybrid for communing mostly, but I haven't worked my own one into a composition yet! Owls are even better if you can find them. I'd like to see more of these vlogs, even over on the main channel. These days, I have no time to go on photowalks myself, so I have to watch them on RU-vid instead, lol. I've got a couple of Pergear group lenses: a TTArtisan 17mm f/1.4 (fast, nice cool temp colours, slightly swirly bokeh - it's my second copy because the first wouldn't focus beyond about 3m / 10ft), a Pergear 25mm f/1.8 (unfortunately with a bubble right in the centre of one of the lens elements that means I can't stop down above f/3.5 without seeing a blurry smudge in the centre of every image :'( but it's totally fine from f/1.8 to f/2.8 or so - beautiful colours) and a Meike 28mm f/2.8 pancake that is nearly perfect for street photography, with a really natural rendering, quite sharp across the frame, with decent microcontrast. They're so good and such great value that even if you get a bad copy, you probably wouldn't mind rolling the dice again (sending them back is a pain because it takes so long to get them to and from China). If they could charge another 25-50% and just do good quality control it would be so much better.
Wow what great pictures I love the photos you made especially with the Pentax K3 I the Olympus were also good! My favourite were with the owl and the Pentax K3 I am interested in get a K3 markii!!!!
Tt artisans are fantastic! I gathered a collection of 7.5 f2, 17 f1.4, 23 f1.4, 35 f 1.4, 40 f 2.8macro and 50 f 1.2. By their quality of material they remind me a bit pentax limited lenses, and they give incredible pictures as well, sharp from wide open. I use them on micro 4/3 as well. If they were with AF, they would be priceless!!
I really like the build quality of them too! This is only the second one I've used, but I am really excited to put out my full review on it. Hopefully TTArtisan will keep sending me their lenses because I am down to show them off! Great collection!
haha! That's right, skipped charging the batteries to save even more money on this setup🤣 Actually, I find that the cameras that get really good battery life are the ones I consistently forget to charge. The ones that die after one outing are easy to remember, but the ones that last 5+ outings I forget about checking.
San Antonio! Where are you at? When I first moved here I was pretty bummed about the landscapes compared to the West or the wildlife in Midwest. But after I got over being grumpy and looked hard enough I realized there was stuff, it was just different stuff! 😆
There’s a couple of TT Artisan lenses that interest me, 35mm f1.4 for low light street on MFT being one, would like to see an aspherical ultra wide prime from them the Laowa is too pricey…you’re braver than I would be on that bike too 🫣
