got a burger craving something chronic now! Glad you got your BBQ, and smart to get it early. We have done the same with a pool heater, sold out last year thanks to lockdown, so made sure we got it during cold snowy weather this year. We'll be pleased about that later on, as will you with your new kit! Stay safe, & always a treat to see a new RL vid x
If you would have poured your charcoal in those two baskets and placed them together in the center of the grate you would have created a "super-heated" vortex effect and your temp would have risen much higher much... Lots of uses for those baskets just look it up.
Them organic firelighters drip a lot of wax out I wouldn't be using them on my kettle I'd get a bit of slab to do it on or it's gonna be a nightmare to clean, good video though 👍
Good choice my friend. Probably the best bbq’s out there. Had mine for nearly 9 years and it’s still going strong. Jus make sure you give it a wipe down and clean after every use and it’ll last you years.
I bought this one and I got a lid with a vent that is near useless as there's a huge open gap in it and it remains open even when it's supposed to be 100% closed(can't "shut it down" and stop the coals from burning), the lowest grate for the coals is USED and covered in soot, grease and sticky marinade from past use. The lowest bowl also has grease with typical BBQ-paprika marinade colour, and also seems to have been used. On the other hand some parts are 100% fresh and unused lol. Basically it seems like Weber sent me or the retailer which I bought it from a grill that has mixed defective, used and unused parts LOL. It seems like they mixed parts from grills that have had their warranty claimed with fresh ones. It seems both ridiculous and disgusting how they could do something like this. I really hope it's on some stupid person working there and not official company policy to mix warranty claimed used, dirty parts with defective and unused parts. 🤷♂️ Maybe I am just extremely unlucky.
Just assembled my Weber Master Touch the day before yesterday. Had to use WD40 lubricant to get the first 2 of the tubular legs into their housing but 3rd one went in easily. No other issues with assembly. Might fire it up today's for an initial burn, but I have been using other cheaper BBQs for years. Hopefully will be able to do some lengthy smoking jobs as (1) the ventilation is so well regulated you can blast out the heat for direct cooking or use the indirect method for low+slow smoking which can last for HOURS and (2) the coals can be topped up through the flaps in the grill plate. My old cheap "Aldi knock-off Weber" which my wife put together when I was at work a couple of years ago, will only last maybe 3 hours so not long enough for big joints cooked slowly. The thermometers are a good idea to avoid "guessing". If the temperature is right, the meat will be right! No risks. Can't wait.
Congrats on the bbq! I’ve done the same thing this year. The baskets inside the grill are for the coals to go in. You can do indirect and direct cooking using them.
