First theories
You would be surprised to know what theories there have been about charisma throughout history. Some of them took the theme into a realm of mystery and even magic. Although little by little the concept took shape.
For example, the German sociologist born at the end of the 19th century, Max Weber, spoke of charisma as an extraordinary quality. A supernatural power magically granted to a few human beings from birth.
This meant that charisma could in no way be worked on or developed, since it was an innate property of a few, and without the possibility of intervention through learning or training of any kind. The objective of charisma was the exercise of authority over people.
