Indeed, I was able to get to 500 damage off-camera, its amazing! Still, though, I'm thinking to add in Breaking Scales for the first Swipe, that way they need to overblock that, making the second one very likely to hit and easily push into 40+ damage.
Only happens about once every 10 games, but when it does its glorious! XD Most other games the moment you draw into a Roar or AOW you are pretty much good to go for a 40~50 damage-ish combo =]
Because Pouncing paws puts the tiger in the banished zone. For the sake of this kind of combo that doesn't make a difference, however having the tiger in hand is important to have fuel for Art of War to get your combo started (you can banish the tiger instead of a card from hand), and it allows you to reveal the tiger for Tooth and Claw.
And the new generic gloves :P, seriously, though, for the most part I think it’ll be fine. The combo is easy to stop so anything with a fridge can save it for turns like this or the late game
@@Yiazmathai Its a decent deck, not a top tier one, but if you are new I think a deck like this can last you a long time before it hits Living Legend. Plus a lot of the staples you need for Zen can be used in Katsu as well.
There will be a deck tech on the channel next week, I'm still optimizing the deck, so in the meantime I'm keeping the unfinished build as early access for the Patrons.
Since I posted this video the meta is already shifting heavily into control, so it'll be near impossible for Zen to perform at a competitive level if this trend continues. 1. Prism can just flip our banished cards upside down on demand. 2. Kayo can present on-hits nonstop to stop our effects (censors, weakest link, etc.) 3. Enigma is a good match-up, but the minute you miss a Chi activation for Zen's search you fall behind. 4. Nuu has a field day with the deck forcing discards and destruction effects and then halfway into the game stealing all your blues to start a mini-tiger combo of her own. 5. Bravo just locks you out of play. 6. Azalea can shut you down with both RITL and Remorseless (since we have so many plays) So depending how far you want to go playing the hero competitively, Katsu might remain the better pick of the two. I really had high hopes for Zen, especially after the Legendary got revealed.
I have a feeling, ZEN will be hit by a card ban or re-ruling of specific cards or even mechanics. This combo is just too insane to let it live... And after the BAN he will probably be less powerful... and people will leave him behind. It's weird to think that they didn't notice this power in their playtesting... or am i missing something?
For me it's not enyoyable FaB, but some people like to play this way - draw and play cards and do exodia/highroll 30+ dmg without much interaction - a solitaire style. A lot of heroes got more and more combo style gameplay available, to sumarize: Maxx, Teklovossen, Boltyn sabers, Kayo is a combo deck a bit also - but without setup - jus play 30dmg turn if cards are good, Kano, Katsu with tripple Bonds, Zen with tiggers, Dash I/O, Prism ALS loop, Levia high roll is also a sort of combo deck in some games - just play cards and win, defensive Rhinar with intimidate at the end, and probably some more archetypes/herose goes into this cattegory. I think this may be intentional in design and they know it's broken, so just let it LL or ban something after 500 points. Since players survived Starvo meta, they can release whatever they want and no matter how broken, unfun and stupid it will be, cases will sell and we still be playing, since Fab is mostly, at least before new expansion, BEAUTIFUL. In my opinion for some players being able to buy a deck, just play cards as they go and win no matter what opponent will do if your cards where correct is actually a positive situation and may actually increase participations in tournaments since with dull gameplay you can snap a victory not being a skillful player.
It usually results in a 50 to 60 damage combo with 1 or 2 of the buff cards, but to get to 100+ only happens like once every 10 games. Still, 50 damage combos are too much xD. The highest I managed to go so far is around 500 damage with 3 AOWs, a sacred art and then drawing into several predatory strikes.
@@pawekutesko9694 I think as long as Victor and Azalea are around this type of deck will be A tier at best anyway, similar to Katsu's placing right now =]. Combo can be fun, but it doesn't win top 8s easily.
@@cghirst76 I have the early version of the deck available on my Patreon but its not tournament ready. I'm planning to do a video & list it on Fabrary sometime next week once I've finished finetuning it. The current build is armory-ready, though.
I have with my testing group, you end up pushing 20+ damage in because they HAVE to wait tp block the swipes. Also tested against the new generic gloves, you can close the combat chain after the first swipe hits, start over. Less tigers, but enough to finish the game. Its not going to be anywhere near S-Tier, but its a fun Armory casino deck^^
The best part is… they can stop the combo by blocking but still need to eat like 20+ damage before they can stop 😂, at that point you have so much tempo its hopeless for the opponent.
@@KuganeFABTCG Iam used to big combos as katsu. And i always feels great if you can keep up the tempo after your big turn! But this aint a big turn. This is a war crime. I wanted to play defensive pitch stack katsu. And i could consistently block all blood rush bellows or all bonds of ancestry turns. It was so much fun. Needed like 20hours to realy get into pitch stacking.... But now its over. You cant defend this ninja. If he goes undisrupted you are done. My dreams are destroyed TT
@@fleecemane2638 As it stands right now, Zen can push out about two of these 20 damage turns without going infinite, but Katsu can still win. Just need to take advantage of Warmongers Diplomacy, This Rounds on me, the new Legendary gloves and you are good to go I think
