Just traded in a handgun for a Hellpup about an hour ago (price was $800). Build quality seems pretty rock solid, and I like that they ship with four mags. I'll follow up if I encounter malfunctions or the gun falls apart on me haha
@@SpaceHippo420 I have one of their original AKs, absolutely terrible. I didn't find out the Hellpup was an IO until a couple months after I bought it. The gun itself has been great. They've definitely improved their QC significantly. The mags that came with it are straight trash though
Great video! I prefer the Hellpup over the Draco only because I like the name better, lol. My go to AK pistol is my Zastava M92, just my preference though.
@@brettkelly6305 I've done a few upgrades to my Hellpup and haven't had any issues. I believe AKs run to hot to be a pistol because of less mass to absorb and dissipate heat, that is why they have problems. I give mine a break after running a drum.
These kinds of guns would be great as a sidearm up in Alaska. 30 rounds of 7.62x39, very reliable- that's probably better if you run into a Kodiak bear or moose that wants you dead than some 10mm, or a revolver with 5 or 6 shots.
your muzzle break is why your hellpup is climbing alot when fired ,The slant muzzle brake is simple and simply amazing at keeping the gases from a bigger round like the 7.62x39 from adding muzzle climb. Also it keeps it in line from pulling to the angle that the recoil produces.
I got a single point sling on my Hellpup. It helps stabilize it along with a compensator. My M70 Zastava is my go to though. Great video, keep up the great work.
I'm leaning towards the draco instead of the mini. Reason being is because the barrel is too short and don't want to accidentally get my hand in front of the barrel, or someone I let fire it go and blow off their finger.
Dude the stock sights on the Hellpup were original Kalashnikov design. The Draco ones are just cheaper simpler replacements. The Hellpup in my opinion performs much better. The barrel flip depends on if you are actually holding the pistol grip with force in order to keep it stable or just relying on the front grip. It weight, adjustable sights, and longer barrel make it more accurate. Not an exactly similar comparison. Other than that cool video wish i had me a Hellpup
my prediction is the Micro Dracos gonna go hard as fuck! I love em got mine on my lap as I watch this vid frfr . with that being said the hellpup is gonna shoot better and be easier to shoot due to its size weight and barrel length.
Put Magpul handguard/gas tube cover, vert grip and added the SB A103 brace on the Hellpup it KICKS ASS. The 11 inch barrel is a no-brainer. For CQB and still reach out to 200+ yards with a decent shooter. While the Draco would make a great truck gun for it's smaller lighter package.
Get a zastava mpap85 or mpap92, they are the best quality AK pistols they are a little smaller than the hellpup and are made very well. Ive heard bad things about pioneer arms but the cugir guns like dracos are decent. The micro draco is cool because of its size but trust me bro zastava is the best mid price ak maker.
I have a hellpup. Apparently around 2018 they changed assembly from IO. Anything prior then 2018 is garbage I hear. I have had no issues with mine. I don't like the sights though.
I had a new born and an asmatic wife with a nose like a blood hound. Keeps gun smoke and oil off my hands. Ps. First time you touch a hot barrel will be your last
@@liberationwasalie2982 I Bought a Ar15 from the shop because I wanted a Ar15 and at the time the only other gun I'm shop was a Hellpup and as soon as I shot the hellpup I started liking the Ak format and a draco wasn't available.
I think overall the hellpup is a better firearm quality wise but the micro is better for a true 7.62 compact backpack gun the whole point of these is to be a pistol tht shoots bigger caliber love my hell pup but moving around town and what not wit the micro is way more convenient and concealable
I'm in my vehicle where it's quiet and I could not hear your video like I can't everybody else's? I had the volume on my car stereo turned up all the way and I had the volume on my phone and the RU-vid app turned up all the way. I would be interested in watching your videos but I just could not hear it driving down the road.
Thank for making this video. I like your face cover. I think 6.5" is too short even for 7.62X39. The better comparison is the regular Draco which has a 10" barrel, but you can only compare what you have so I totally understand. I would never shoot any of these without a pistol brace or a stock if you SBR it. If you want to run a very small barrel you need to have a very fast twist rate like 1 in 6 or 1 in 5 similar to the Sig. Personally, I have been looking at the WBP Mini Jack, especially the milled receiver variant. The 10" barrel is just long enough to get effective performance and when you mount a suppressor it is still short enough to navigate tight spaces which is the only reason to get an AK pistol.
The hell pup is more accurate and a little more quiet simply due to barrel length the micro draco barrel is too short for all the powder to actually burn with all that said I love my micro it's fun to shoot its an attention grabber if you're wanting accuracy stay with the full size draco or hell pup pay the SBR stamp tax and put a stock on it just my opinion
definitely the draco over the hellpup. I think zastava is more quality than pioneer. But for a shorty AK i think the ZPAP (the yugo) is king. also, when it comes to caliber for an AK pistol id rather have 7.62 over 5.45 or 5.56. but hey if you have any, your way better than someone who doesnt have one.
I have a Century Arms Micro Draco RAS47 and it is so different from yours. Omg I must have gotten a upgraded model, mine has a drilled rear trunion QD, a picatinny rail forward of the dust cover with flourescent pins as a rear sight, a covered hood front sight, a notched safety for bolt hold open, came with 2 metal last round hold open mags, a oversized mag release and a front QD for sling. Flash hider comes of with no cutting or dremeling like a yugo pap or krink just push detent pin and turn it. Opposite way of course. And dust cover not permanently attached like a M92. All those extras, never seen another like it
The hellpup has cast trunnions and are terrible they are NOT WBP or FB military factory built guns these have nothing to do with either they are located in the same city and that is it. Please consider selling. Very unsafe
Two reasons, I don’t have. Full size Draco, 2 I wanted to do one last video with a stock Draco before I trick out the Draco. She is completely upgraded already, stat tuned
Good job, thank you for sharing, I am shopping for an Ak pistol and this was helpful. I do like the looks of the Bullpup the best, the other is too short, looks stumpy. I am buying one for the "Hit the Fan" scenario like you said. Looks like fun too shoot as well.
@@spazzothadon497 is probably go with the Hellpup. Century arms left a bad taste so I’ll probably go elsewhere for Ak’s if you want real deal. But if you just want a fun shoot century arms works for that 🤷🏾♂️
@@everydayshooter1080 just seen i spelled very badly my fault lol but thanks man appreciate the reply i have a wasr 10 but im hearing alot more down sides to it than anything good so might be looking to trade or sell for a hellpup 💪🏽 just kind went out and bought one but thats all was at the shop at the time so of course i had to grab me one lol
I'm in the market for a new piece. I can't decide. gotta read the comments to see who CoSign the best. they both look and perform well. but it looked like that mini draco jammed up on you, did it?
I never shot a draco but I do have a hellpup and I love it but you are right about the stability on the hellpup. But I love the look of the hellpup. Not knocking on draco though, I just have to shoot one.
Because at the time the video was made I didn’t have a full size Draco. Second if you are trying to decide between a full size Ak pistol versus a Micro hopefully this would help.
WHAT IT DO? I love all AK's. I have 2, but need 3... I'm going with the Micro Draco. That's all I'm missing in my collection. Go check out a PSA AK-P. They're nice with a brace and you will absolutely love the extended safety on it.
