i generally dont hold sds anime that highly in terms of ranking. its cool but lacks alot of things in my opinion. but escanor is one of my all time favourite characters. he the the best written "OP character" imo

"he turned to stone because you can't run away" I hate that they do it, but that is why animes have to spell it out plainly all the time. Escanor even said they were continuing Garland's game of trading hits until one of them dies. He was leaving before one of them died, so he lied.

Well, it's more akin to being caught lying through your teeth. If you know you're lying and intentionally not telling the truth, you'll be turned to stone. Galand made the rules of the game, so he cannot cheat or forfeit otherwise he'll be punished.

7DS used to be so good man. The ending failed miserably with how dragging the plot was not to mention the lazy animation. It just lost heart towards the end. It used to be so hyped back then.
