Best I've seen yet. There's bunch of popular factory HowTo videos. These often are cursed with inane background music, jerky and ill rehearsed presentation style and hands persistently hiding the detail. Your home video was such a nice contrast. Smooth and easy to follow. Stacked with handy tips and produced a superb looking splice. Hope your young apprentice was taking it all in ! Happy Christmas from Ireland 🇮🇪 👍🏼
Thanks I bought the U-Splice video's from Tree Stuff and never quite got it. This helped me to understand more. You are a good teacher! Thanks for the video!!!
That was really cool and interesting. You obviously know what you're doing, so everything falls into place as you progress along. Your daughter was a big help as well. With all of the splicing that you do, have you considered a splicing table. With thrashed knees, I wouldn't be able to work on the floor. Thanks for the video.
Haha, yes I have a table in there but its glass and people were bitching about it clanking on the table, I did it on the floor for the viewers, and yes my daughters a big help 😆 thanks for watching brotha
@@PoplarMechanic I remember the glass table well. What clanking lol I totally understand that you're watching your daughter during this video, so you were planted in the house. What I was referring to is a table that you'd make just for splicing. They're really cool. They have built in tape measures and cleats etc. You have a really nicely laid out shop. This is why I figured you'd be into it. What ever works for you is cool. Thanks again for the video.
Ya its kinda tough, I failed a few times when I first tried it, samson rigging line is an easier double braid to splice and tenex is more of a weave 😆, Thanks for watching Greg and im following you on IG now to 🤙
Can I ask why you didn’t use an 11/16 fid? Tachyons 11.5mm. I figured you could probably use either or? But I’m trying to put an eye in my tachyon. First couple tries were unsuccessful but I’m getting there. I think I’ll be able to get it today. Thanks I your splicing videos bro. Very informative.
Hey man. I can't remember exactly, but you must be able to use either. The final bury is the hardest, and I use the d splicer. Here is a link to that video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p7EM7pBGiv8.htmlsi=BWJTQFizLklx9TbQ
@@PoplarMechanic yeah I have been waiting to get 1 of those d splicers they look strong and awesome in general. I just have a few wire fids. From 12,16, and I think 18 inch. But yeah when I have the funds I’ll pick 1 up. Thanks man.
I don't really do splicing for other people, or atleast I havnt before, if you like the art positioner I can send you a 25 footer I just made, I don't even want it, you pay shipping and its yours
How do you like the performance of the Tachyon rope on this device? I heard the Positioner can be jerky, have you ever experienced that with this rope?
Hey man, if this is the art positioner (I have a few splicing videos), I don't like it at all. It's not bad as a secondary, and I will still use it when I need extra length, but I think petzl Zillion is the best for smoothness. You just have to watch you don't lay branches on the zillion because it can be touchy. So yes, the art positioner is jerky, especially in comparison to other options
