This is very possible, if you enable perfover.drawfps 1 then you will see that gpu fps is actually high but cpu fps draws the smoothness down, even on very powerful systems. There is a cpu usage problem or something. It's mostly in 128 player modes. I have 9900K at 5.2 GHz and 5900X at 4.7 GHz and both systems have cpu fps (top number in perfoverlay) drop to red and yellow at times, even tho my gpu is at 100-200 fps (RTX 3080)
Definitely saw a noticeable improvement in smoothness in most scenarios on a very old PC (i5 4690K, GTX 1080). Specifically, the breakthrough game mode is actually now playable.

I've gone through the in-game settings and lowered them once before but recently my game started crashing like every few minutes, so I followed this video and for some reason it was now set to 1440p with all settings set to high and ultra. This game is unreasonably demanding even for the newer graphics cards.
Legit, followed I’d say about 80% of this, went from a solid (lol) 46fps in game, to about 132 give or take. Very well done buddy, and thank you so much.
Im on a GTX 1650 and Ryzen 5 3600 and i was getting 55-60 fps on low graphics, and holy shit i was not expecting the FPS increase like that, now im getting a steady 60-65 FPS and it hasnt dipped below 60 even in when chaos is all around. Thanks man, keep up the good work
My god you were a lifesaver, your debloat, clean gpu driver install and OC tutorial made me jump from an avg of 80-90 fps to 120-130. The lengths we have to go to for this game HAHA
what a guide! ive gone from 90-100 fps with a 5900x and 3080ti to 180+ fps @1080p, i have a 1440p monitor coming tomorrow so hopefully fps will still be similar, thanks for this guide dude helped massively
Not really a good guide. Literally just tells you to lower everything and lower the resolution... That is the main way for every game to get better fps. You can just use DLSS with the 3080 Ti to get better performance.
im not here to bash this guy for trying to help, but this made no difference whatsoever for me. Don't get me wrong, it might help you, but at the end of the day DICE just need to fix the optimisation issues. I feel all we can really do is wait, tweaking all these settings just isn't gona fix unfortunately lads :(
Something’s definitely up with your pc. I run at 65 to 85 fps consistently at 1440p mostly low settings. Ryzen 7 3700x, GTX 1070, 16gb 3600mhz cas 14 ram.
Dude, what is your build? Why isn't it in your description? We need to know so we can compare. You are literally the only person I've seen get over 130 fps consistently, let alone 180.
he has a 2080 atleast for the GPU, not sure on CPU. I have a 2080 super and a ryzen 7 and still hit the wall on this game aswell. I think i just need a new cpu tho, 9 series rips this game for my buddy and he has a 2070
@@Nature_Runes its deffo the cpu needed right now! Theres so many options in terms of scaling that will help any rtx gpu do well once its optimized, currently it dont matter what gpu you have.

That NSi thing absolutely crashed my game Had to go into the settings file and change the reslution after turnong nsi off in nvidia control centre My game kept crashing when changing the resolution back to normal in game But besides that, nice video
Man you have no idea how much I thank you, I have a 3060ti but paired with an old cpu a i5-8400, I was getting desperate since at first I was getting 60 fps on conquest but all of the sudden it got to 38 - 55 fps in best scenarios, I had no idea what to do now I play 60+ all the time, the improvement was insane
I have over 100 hours logged but maybe less than half of that was gameplay how stuck in and out of troubleshooting I have been trying. Anyway I followed the advice especially config files IMO made biggest difference. So then I started doing the same for my arma 3 and etc.. thanks dude. Feels like a new game

If anyone sees this, what I did was change my monitor instantly got 20 more frames. I don't know If battlefield 2042 has an issue with monitors. But that's what I did and my performance increased drastically.

@@weetjewatikwil1 is it still that bad. On the free weekend, I had to change virtually all of my display setting just to get it to be a little less laggy. I wouldn't have minded if it was an old PC but I put a high end one for COD and BF and neither played particular that well (although COD was effected by the ridiculous grenade and fire spam
amazing video, crazy that with these settings it is such an improvement. I am heavily cpu bound and most of these settings would just help gpu but they made me go from 40-50 fps to a steady 90 fps thanks a lot bro
Yea I wondered the same like even without DLSS at native 1440p I was cpu bottlenecked so I figured that it would have no impact. However it damn near doubled my fps😊
I've found that lower in-game settings just brings my GPU utilization down and doesn't improve Frames. When I set my settings higher, it actually uses more GPU. (2080ti) and increases the frames.
@@jdamore44 8700k is a bottleneck for sure. I regularly saw 80-90% usage in bf5 in 64 player servers. Bf cpu usage scales with player count which is why this game is so hard to run.
this actually worked for me! I am getting stable 60 fps now. Thanks a lot! Edit : For some reason every time I restart the game , it goes back to the state where it starts lagging and I don't even get 30 fps . I have to follow some steps again to get 60 fps
This literally ruined my performance, had to revert everything you did at the start and then restart for it to fix. Whatever you did at the start kills performance for me and made 244hz unplayable and 60hz made it so I could at least load the menus, the settings in game and such work wonders though
@@Frame2 cant tell as i did everything at once, reverted it all when it didnt work then it worked fine, just did the in game settings and i got way better everything
Did you find good settings/tips for improving for a 240Hz monitor? I know the game itself is still poorly optimized but maybe there are options that make it a bit better.
@@InFamoo gpu acceleration is VERY specific on hardware dont be suprised if that doesnt help and instead ruins every game, ive tried, but i also had resizable bar disabled then and havent tried since i reenabled it, and rebar may give you some help in SOME games❤
Even with your help i get 70-80 fps with drops under 60 in a 5820k oc4.4ghz at 60% and a 2070super at 50%, in the menu i get 100% gpu utilization and 180 fps tho
Did all your settings and my game is barely playable now. Reverting everything doesn't seem to get rid of the now present stutter. So now I'm reinstalling and hoping that'll fix it.

Something I’m sharing on all videos is what I’ve done recently for a performance boost. Reverted back to old nvidia driver from June/July time. Getting solid 70 to 80fps and no stutter. Occasionally dips to late 60s but very rarely. And certain parts of break away it goes into the 90s. I am running a 2700x(SMT off) and a GTX 1080 at 1440P. All settings low besides texture quality and filtering which are both set to high.
DDU with NVSLimmer is the best fix for most problems..my gpu would never go below 60 degrees even at idle.. ran DDU with a fresh driver..idles at 40 now.. crazy how config files can jack shit up
Good video, one thing tho. With Nvidia settings I would not recommend Maximum performance with power management in the global settings but rather in the program settings. Cause otherwise your gpu will be at max even in the desktop.

I found something that has been causing atleast some of the issues in BF2042 . The cashe folder in my bf2042 documents folder will just keep on filling up the more i play the game and never empty's on it's own . I have never seen this before most games don't go for stacking the cashe endlessly until your drive runs out of space . 😂
This video fucked up my pc till I started back tracking 4:50 edit custom timer resolution was the probly lucky it was the first thing I tried since it had the big red FOR ADVANCED USERS ONLY . I couldn't play fallout nv with no mods on without spikes and fps jumping from 1-30 the first thing I did was open battlefield uk what happened I got the blue screen of death . This is a new 400$ gaming pc
These settings made 2042 run a little better, or atleast look a little clearer. But BFV crash ever single time i try to start it up and i have no idea what exactly i need to change back, so i reset everything in the Geforce control panel and now it works again..
I tried these settings in 2024 and I still noticed some FPS change, game was stuttery, unplayable, freezes multiple times, but after i did mostly everything here it works now with little to no stutters here and there
I have gtx 1050 with ryzen 5600x with 16 Gb ram and 500gb SSD I did all the changes and game doesn't let me change the resolution from 768 to 900. As soon I change the resolution...nvidia driver crashes..? Pls help
well, about gpu drivers, i downloaded latest drivers and ended up loosing more than 50 fps . never thought im gonna search for this type of video with rtx 3080
Most of these didn't work but I suggest doing repair if you are on origin or verify integrity files if you are on steam. That worked for me and boosted fps significantly.
