The best audience reaction to a trailer I ever saw was for Freddy vs Jason. I saw the trailer for this when I went to see The Matrix Reloaded. Everyone in the audience cheered and applauded when Freddy and Jason came face to face. It was a great reaction.
Good reaction to an amazing movie. I remember watching this with my brother on opening night in theaters. It was wild. Everyone was so excited to see this after all these years. The cool part was, whenever Jason or Freddy would appear on screen, the fans of that character would cheer and clap. I was a Freddy fan, so of course whenever Freddy was on screen I would love it. When the fighting would begin, the entire crowd were loosing their minds. It was so much fun. I have never experienced something like that since, but I will always remember that night.
Ohhh that's so awesome to have that kinda fan reception I adore that! I can't really think of anything similar to something of that affect but whatever side you are it's still awesome for the horror community
Jason tends to be the more relatable character. He's the weird kid who got picked on and bullied too much. Freddy's a pedophile and child murderer. Freddy vs Jason in the movie timelines is between 9 and 10. Jason's fear was something unknown even to himself, but in Freddy's dream world, the image of Freddy through the water was the trigger, not the water itself. An image reminiscent of what he might've seen when he was thrown off the pier and drowned as a kid. Even then, it was the faintest thing in the furthest reaches of his mind, unknown to himself or Freddy until that moment. The movie actually spent decades in "development hell" as multiple variations were in the works prior to Jason Goes To Hell. Ideas included actually having scenes in Hell, featuring cameos from both Pinhead and the Tall Man (and of course the spheres). One idea that stuck around the longest was Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash. But, as with Ash's intended inclusion in a Phantasm entry, Bruce Campbell and Sam Rami decided against it, so's to not make confusions with the proper Evil Dead lore.
someone told me to say congratz! with a Zee! but congrats for realz! for the nightmare films i'd prob recommend Nightmare on elm 3, and New Nightmare. And Final Nightmare just for the goo goo dolls song lol
Great reaction! Team Jason 🪓 Sorry I'm a little late to the party, I really liked your reaction to this movie (I just subscribed to your channel and turned on the notifications button)! Freddy vs Jason is just plain fun! It hits pretty much all the horror tropes and has fun with it. The way they mixed the scores from both franchises is goosebump inducing! My two favorite scenes are when Freddy realizes he's been brought out to the real world (the look of total fear on Freddy's face is priceless...... Robert Englund did such a great job conveying the fear) and the end scene when Jason walks out of the lake carrying Freddy's head and Freddy winks to the audience.....pure bliss! Can't wait to watch more of your reactions..... keep up the great work! Many blessings to you and yours!
Woo team Jason! Welcome to the cult! 💙 I actually bought a Freddy vs Jason jumper after this I had so much fun, silly in all the best ways! Thanks for the support
If you haven't gotten to A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 yet... I wouldn't definitely check it out. It's a sequel to the first film and is in my opinion the best Nightmare movie in the franchise. Great review
So here's a fun fact: There was a comic made based on a script for a sequel to Freddy VS Jason. It was supposed to add a third horror character. The name of the comic is Freddy VS Jason VS Ash. It would have had Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise getting involved in the fight between Freddy and Jason as well as trying to prevent Freddy from getting his hands on the Necronomicon Ex Mortis.
Fans were split on this one, but I've always appreciated it for what it was. We needed to see these two meet, like Dracula met Frankenstein. I also think this movie creates some beautiful horror portraits of both Mr. Krueger and Voorhees, at times. There was a comic book later on, where not only did Freddy and Jason meet again, but Ash from the "The Evil Dead" shows up as well. Hope you are doing well! Happy Season of the Witch! Ch-ch-ch-ha-ha-ha...doon doon doon doon... :)
It's "ki-ki-ki, ma-ma-ma". The sound designer for the first movie remixed himself saying "Kill them, mommy" into the now infamous "Jason's theme". It's intended to be an echo of that phrase, echoing in Pamela's head, for that movie, and probably "kill them for mommy" in jason's head.
The snakes in the bathroom scene in the blood may look random but in the original script and they filmed it....the snakes were coming out his mouth and onto the floor but apparently the shot did not look right and they did not have the budget to make it look better so they scrapped them coming out his mouth but left them on the floor
If you wonder why they didn't show any scenes from the other Friday the 13th movies is because parts 1-8 are owned by Paramount Pictures, this movie is made by New Line CInema. New Line Cinema owns the Nightmare franchise and they bought the rights of Jason with the 9th and 10th movies, but they didn't own the Friday the 13th name, hence why they are called "Jason Goes to Hell - The Final Friday" and "Jason X" (Where he goes to space. In part 8 he goes to Manhattan even though half the movie is mostly on the boat =P) They had written multiple endings, one of them was both of them going to hell and Pinhead from Hellraiser would show up and ask "what seems to be the problem here?", but the thing is that Pinhead was owned by another studio and New Line Cinema didn't think it would be worth buying the rights for that character because they really didn't have any plans for him in future projects. They had plans for a sequel, Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, as in Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise! But it sadly got cancelled, but the script for it was turned into a comic book and it's freaking awesome! =D =) The comic even got a sequel, where Ash teams up with previous survivors from both Friday and Nightmare. I'm too Team Jason ;) I've been dressed up as him for many Halloweens, especially now this month when we had Friday the 13th. It's fitting too since I'm bald and usually shave my head (but I'm not freakish looking like Jason, lol! XP), so I'm more Jason from parts 3 and 4 =P Jason being afraid of water is a plothole that they retconned because he's been in and under water in previous movies. Yes, stuntmen use a special (often white) suit for fire stunts and they also use some kind of lubricant, which I assume is for not getting any serious burns (though I think there's still a risk you might get some, but at least not horribly ones).
Some day you have to play the game Terror Drome, it’s a fan made fighting game featuring horror movie characters like Jason, Freddy and chucky, it’s free to play.
I remember watching this in the theater and the bed folding scene got the biggest reaction 😂 and yes, theres big old fake ones as per horror movie standard. Also i love that the guy tried using his dads head to shield himself from Jason 😂 Edit: When that guitar kicks in at the fight at the end, i remember the theater going "YEAH!" Everyone was pumped! Also the dark meat and the F bomb, different times. Lol the Kelly Rowland roasting Freddy scene was hilarious. The theatre was Team Jason that night.
Team Jason, if I had the capability and chance to, I'd offer Jason the chance of creating the timeline of Camp Counselor Jason, I hope he'd like the idea of his mother being alive
As much as I love Jason and Michael, they can't go up against each other because then you have two main characters that don't talk. It really limits the storytelling. This one worked because, while Jason is silent, Freddy never shuts up.
jason X is in space and not bad team jason certainly and they do wear special flame proof suits 'poltergeist' would be a good one for your next of course, next thursday occurs during the days of the dead, 'dia del muertos', november 1st - 3rd. the 2nd crow movie would be appropriate or if you want something closer to home 'cockneys vs zombies' is a great horror comedy happy halloween skellie!
Yep. Jason is connected to evil dead through the necronomicon, this movie ties jason & freddy together explicitly, and in bride of chucky they tie in freddy, jason, michael and others in cameos
Yeah, Team Jason. I love Freddy, but Jason? Adore? Is that the right word. I think both franchises are worth watching, all together, spread out? Whatever. My first Jason film was Part 8, like many, many of the others he spends a great deal of time in and around water, so... Not really sure where that phobia came from lol When I worked in this really big pub, we got to dress up for Halloween, I converted a bald, faceless latex mask thingy from a shop, removing the netting like eyes and put the hockey mask over it. That and a dirty looking boiler suit made those nights fantastic! :D I made sure never to speak, even when they put Me on the bar. When I was complained to about that by a manager, I'd channel Jason (Possibly just Kane Hodder) and just stare and then look at the 'fake' Machete, so they just let Me work the floor and garden. The drunks loved it :D Yeah, if Pinhead had for instance sent them both to rake up the kills for any reason at all, it could have been that bit more fun, only I don't think Pinhead fits parodical mix and match movies s I'm 50/50 with that, but yeah some big mix up would be fun, but Corporations are pure evil, even more evil the the Great Beast of Caerbannoug... Happy Halloween, good luck/vibes with your health issues, incidentally, if anybody reading this can spare a Kidney? Comment.
My only "defense" for the water fear would be to give him a debuff and maintain the "water vs fire" concept which was neat but honestly should have been played on 10x more, especially for Freddy. Wow pinhead calling the shots for this would actually be so cool much like the entity does in Dead By daylight
I'm not a massive fan of this one. It's alright and I think the idea of a cross-over is cool. I'm definitely team Freddy. Always prefered the Elm Street films to Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is probably the best. There was a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash comic book that came out a couple years after this film. In it Freddy uses the Necronomicon to regain some of his power and resurrect Jason's victims as Deadites. But Ash saves the day, banishes Freddy to the Deadite realm and Jason ends up at the bottom of Crystal Lake again.
The issue is each studio wants to be the ones that releases the cross over film. It took decades for a Jason/Freddy crossover because Paramount and New Line couldn’t agree on which studio gets to make the film. this film only happened because New Line that owned Freddy bought the rights to Jason. Godzilla and Gamera have the same issue. Each studio loves the idea but only if they get the film and the other doesn’t.
@@skeletalk with jason having his body been restored, he was killed, Freddy took his soul. Which made all of hell furious. Jason was the most powerful soul that ever has or will ever be in hell, which I checked on what rank of demon you'd have to be to create your own realm of purgatory, you'd have to be a archdemon. Which is what Satan is, right under lucifer. As punishment for stealing Jason's soul, Freddy was stripped of all his powers and brought down to treachery, likely next to where lucifer is. Meaning after that, he'd never come back, even if the world was to fear him
I love your reactions so much I have a potentially obscure recommendation american mary I really do think you will love it Also jason was not at crystal lake In 3,4,8,9 and x
@@skeletalk it stars katharine isabelle who was in freddy vs Jason. She is better known for the ginger snaps trilogy, american mary, hannibal tv series 88, bones, torment and see no evil 2 but has been in a ton of horror films
There's actually a film called The Final Girls, that's basically a horror comedy that pokes fun of the slasher genre...and it's just so creative, ya GOTTA see it. Wes Craven's New Nightmare is definitely worth watching. Friday the 13th 3D is actually pretty neat. As far as Slashers go I think Black Christmas 1974 is the must see film. It basically started it all and it's a fantastic film. Sorry to hear about your health situation, I'm out of the loop and a bit oblivious.
Hi Katie another enjoyable reaction as always, and though I'm not a big fan off this film its still a fun film to watch, I'm team Freddy have always preferred the Nightmare on Elm Street films over the Friday the 13th ones, and would love to see you react to Bram Stokers Dracula staring Gary Oldman, and Dog Soldiers, I think you would enjoy both very much, Hope your health situation starts to improve very soon.
@@skeletalk completely agree with you its just a fun film but nothing special, and the Gary Oldman Dracula is one of the best ever made even with the dodgy British accents, And Dog Soldiers was directed by Neil Marshall, who also directed The Decent another brilliant horror film I think you would like.
This Is Hands Down My Favorite Freddy Vs Jason Reaction EVER For Two Reasons. 1: Because You're A HUGE Jason Stan Just Like Myself My Entire Life & 2: Because Of How Much You Cheered For Jason The Entire Time. #TeamJason YASSS💖He's My Fave Slasher
In the nineties Celebrity Deathmatch was popular a humorous way of famous ending grudges against each other in brutal fights to the death . we now have Ben and Chad doing these character match fights it's very entertaining I enjoy that as well alright folks I'm gonna be talking about this Freddy vs Jason movie it was going to happen sooner but got put on hold remember Jason goes to hell yes and that Jason X in space we know why guys love that movie the hot female campers my favorite scene too . I like your channel kerp these videos coming an happy new year .
I've always been a much bigger fan of Friday than I am of the Nightmare series. This movie came out when I was in High School, and High School me loved it for what it was. It's not great, but it's fun. My only actual complaint is the writers don't actually know anything about Jason and it bugs me. Jason didn't "die by water". He died by being hit in the head a hundred times by a machete in Part 4. And he's never been afraid of water. He willingly goes into the water in the Friday movies. It's not movie ruining or anything, but as a massive Friday the 13th fan it bugs me.
Actually Jason wasn't afraid of water itself, it was suffocation by drowning was his greatest first fear (and how he originally died in the very first Friday The 13th movie. Back in 1957 he drowned because the camp counselors weren't paying attention because they were getting it on), which Freddy used to his advantage in Freddy Vs Jason. Remember Jason also screamed at the end of Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) "Mommy don't let me drown, Mommyyyyyyy" (it wasn't water - in that film it was toxic waste, that Jason was afraid of, it was drowning again that scared him the most). Also Freddy uses dreamlike imagery and symbolism to enact fear into his victims to give himself strength. And if you remember Freddy poked Jason's temple with his glove to make the fear run deeper into Jason's mind.
Yeah I don't remember anything about a fear of water in the others haha however it did come with a cool fire vs water concept that did sort of fall flat but I like the idea a lot.
@@MLJ7956 The very first movie may have intended for him being dead by drowning when he was a kid, but the series went on way past that where he very explicitly did not drown. He ALMOST drowned as a child, and then lived in the woods until he saw his Mom get decapitated at the end of the first movie. And this movie very clearly makes it a fear of water, not drowning. He was afraid to cross the water pouring down, which had nothing to do with him potentially drowning, and everything to do with them saying "he's afraid of water."
I think it's less of "the writers not knowing anything about Jason" and more of "the writers watering Jason down, so that he doesn't destroy Freddy in their match". Because, all things considered, Jason would whoop Freddy in a fight. But that wouldn't benefit Nightmare fans. So, they had to give Freddy a chance to win.
Nightmare On Elm Street by far beats out Jason and the rest of them. Because Freddy can enter dreams his chaos is unlimited. The stuff he can do is unimaginable. People like Jason and Leatherface just stab most of the time (although they have come up with some cool ideas for deaths)…but Freddy is far more creative, plus he can talk (which is sometimes a plus and sometimes a negative)…but I just think Freddy movies are far more creative and Jason movies seem to repetitive
Freddy movies are literally repetitive, with new kills. The Jason character and the entire genre of the films constantly change as the franchise goes on. It's the entire appeal of the franchise.
@@justindenney-hall5875 There's react'ers who do that with the Scary Movie franchise and it really annoys me, but with these films..ya basically only need to see the first 3 of their franchises. I mean those are the best in the franchises. That goes for Halloween as well, they drag along pretty badly after that. New Nightmare is awesome though. I'd like to see her react to that one.
