A micrometer slide (calibration slide) allows you to make precise measurements with the microscope.

Have you ever used Toupview ? It is especially made for miroscope work. It can generate scale bars and photo stacking

I just bought a same slide. Use it to calibrate my software that came with my USB microscope camera. Now I can measure the size of the specimen on screen. It can include the dimension in the exported picture.

It was explained that the two images must be the same size in Photoshop, but also the objective used must be the same in both cases. Separate photos of the gauge need to be taken for each objective.

I've just got one of these; my idea is to use it to calibrate a reticule eyepiece (I haven't got it yet but I've used one before) with each objective. I haven't got my head round scale bars yet.

The slide on amazon is a lot cheaper than the ones on Dutch websites over here. 15 Euro on Amazon vs 50 Euro. Thanks for showing us how to make a scale bar. This makes my hobby much more interesting.

I am training to calibrate a microscope accessory of the rheometer but I am having such a rough time. Can someone please help me to understand what does the present micrometer slide work?

Seems 0.07mm is a standard reference depth used for personal radiation dose of skin: Hp(0.07) representing the probability of stochastic health effects from radiation. I guess useful to look for cell damage at that depth? (Not my field)

Dear friend, in my humble opinion ImageJ is more intuitive, free and if you have many images it would make life easier. Thanks for all your wonderful videos.

How can a microorganism be isolated, for example, a diatom or a rotiferous to put it in a permanent slide? Thank you for your videos.

Depending on the size you are trying to isolate there are microscopic tweezers and a few other tools It would be a nice video if he could go over the most common options.

In the 19th century they used to use an eyelash (which is tapered to a point) to pick up and manipulate diatoms. Nice diatom arrangements were made this way and here is a link to an example from the year 1903 (Wikipedia): de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kieselalgen#/media/Datei:Diatom2.jpg Diatoms have shells that are hard and can dry out, but for other delicate water life you mount them in glycerine jelly. This is a water-based mounting medium. Water sample with specimen allowed to dry a little bit (to remove excess water) then add glycerine jelly.
