just a little nostalgic-filled vid for you today ◡̈ also cooking up a few more before we close out the holiday season, so hope to see you (again) soon!
You're the first person I know that ever tests an actual mobile game on an Anbernic since it is running on an Android, good to know that they're playable but a bummer that it doesn't detects any controller input.
ikr, definitely a bummer. i do know that some people in the modding community for these handhelds work on custom firmware to fix issues like controller compatibility, but since this model is newer i haven't seen anyone fix the controller input issue for streaming apps yet (i think one is blackseraph, the garlicOS dev?)
this thing is so cute - i’ve seen it all over tiktok and it’s so nostalgic 🥹 btw - would you do one of your genshin playing vids on the rog ally? i’d love to see more of it cause it’s a really cool console!
Lol what a coincidence, I have the exact same rg405v with the exact same Kuromi joystick caps! I also covered it in Kuromi stickers and attached a lanyard on the bottom - pretty easy to do even without a lanyard hook, just unscrew one of the bottom screws, hook a lanyard on it (works best if it has a thin string) and then screw it back. Love this console though it sucks that Genshin doesn't work properly on it with the controls because of the Android limitations- I tried many workarounds online but no luck. If you ever find a way I'd love a video about it! But I know it's not the intended use for it. Though I also had no luck running the OG Animal crossing on it either for whatever reason! I bought mine pre-loaded so maybe I just have to reset it and do my own setup. Also, I recommend installing Dajinsho on it, much better launcher. Btw, it runs N64, PS1 and PS2 as well as PSP as well! Not all games depending on complexity, it's not the most robust handheld but can handle a few.
I bought a miyoo mini plus and i love it!!! BUT id love to play ps2/gamecube and 3ds games again :( so im wondering if this is worth getting if you have a miyoo already.. hm. I'd probably get it later down the road
Can u please make a video on how to customize PS4 controllers with Extremerate parts? Such as how to customize the buttons and the shells of the controller. IM BEGGING😭😭😭
i found it pretty comfy playing 1-2 hours so long as you're using button mappings that don't feel awkward to you (most emulators let you map buttons yourself). the rg405v is also on the larger size, so it's a bit heavier than a miyoo mini or some of the smaller retro handhelds - hope this helps! i'd def suggest picking this up from a place with an easy return policy if you're thinking of picking one up and aren't sure the ergonomics are for you
These retro handhelds have been advancing pretty quickly these past few years. It's a shame I just have no reason to buy one, it would collect dust on a shelf.
