I forgot to mention that while the reporters went under cover with referral agents, they never went under cover with the bank itself, and tried to open an account. It makes no sense that they would not have tried. I think its possible that they did and got turned down, so they destroyed the evidence.

As a Australian, born and bred for many generations, I apologise for the conduct of these countrymen of mine. I don’t know them, I don’t want to. This country has been on a downhill slide for a couple of generations now. Here in Sydney. This same Nick Mackenzie that did a hit piece on Peter Schiff also wrote a book on Ben Roberts Smith the Afghan war hero which although Ben lost his defamation case has left many debating if this was dodgy journalism at its finest. It seems Ben Roberts Smith who I believe is a great soldier and did a difficult job in a very difficult situation a war zone where like Vietnam you can’t tell farmers from VC You can’t tell afghan farmers from the Taliban Now the case has gone to a criminal court but the facts required to prove a higher test of murder have so far been unfounded by the court. Ben Roberts Smith to this day has not been convicted of a war crime but Nick and many others have made money out of this story which was derived not by an eyewitness but by a third hand account of an American soldier who was not even at the scene of the apparent crime. This shed some doubt over the journalistic integrity of these and other Australian journalist especially in light of Peter Schiff’s case. I’m ashamed to say that today Austrian journalists who win Walkley awards are not honest journalists. Can’t trust any of them nowadays if they give too awards to these fake journalists Well done Peter Schiff for exposing these crooks

I have not watched 60 Minutes or affiliated broadcasts in many years, precisely because of tactics like these where allegations are flung about without evidence, interviewees are ambushed and or lied to about the premise of the interview, multiple cameras are run so that interviewees are unaware of being filmed when breaks are taken, and stories going forward when supposed "vetted evidence" can not be proven factual. As I recall, during a PBS broadcasted moderated debate or discussion of effectively big media versus big business, which degraded to big business versus 60 minutes, a representative of the Wall Street Journal was finally asked a question about 60 Minutes being good journalism or not, his response, my paraphrasing, was that they were good drama. The 60 Minutes representatives were beside themselves stating that they had the highest regard for the WSJ.

This story and your emotion bring back so many wretched parts of my life. Ineffective civil courts refusing to enforce disclosure caused so many problems and the court system allows the "creatures" to get away with it. You have to get smart and unconventional in what is effectively revenge (justice not contrary to the law but outside the legal process).

"There was this other guy, Mathew Goldstein..." Isn't there always? Keep fighting the good fight sir. Just think of how many times they DO get away with destroying someone.
