Join us as we capture the FIRST TEST of Hyperia at Thorpe Park! Standing at 236ft, Hyperia is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the UK, set to open to the public on Friday 24th May 2024. In this video we capture the atmosphere building up to the first test, including footage of Hyperia climbing the lift hill and running around the circuit for the first time ever!

Truly amazing to see Hyperia testing for the very first time. We've all been waiting so long to witness it and it was absolutely brilliant. I had goosebumps watching the train take that first drop. Fingers crossed that all the testing goes well over the next month so she is ready for her opening date of May 24th (and because I'm visiting a few days after that!) Exciting times for Thorpe Park and the UK theme park industry!

The first drop looks amazing! I wouldn't worry about it looking a little slow through some of the elements. This thing is going to fly through that layout this summer when the weather and the coaster warms up!

Well yeah it's a first test of a new coaster they have to be abit cautious, with the lift hill running it with add alot more momentum into the main layout

U csn bet, cause they simpley have to! Hyperian might not be the first great coaster in the last 10 years but for its thrill and hights its definetly the first stand out coaster in the UK for decades, and on top of it, csn easily compete with other coasters ww. The other parks have to follow the footsteps of Hyperian and with Universal coming to UK, even more!@@bendixonmusic7149

Agreed I was at Alton towers today and it hasn’t changed in decades , the so called new nemesis was exactly the same but a lick of paint , smiler shut all day and Rita looked like all the steal had rotten , the best ride their was built in the 90s , I hope the Americans come in with universal and take a much chunk of the market and show the Merlin group what a con it’s become , 15 pound for a burger at Alton towers ! It was cheaper by a good amount at Disney land Paris in January !! Alton towers was once the jewel in the U.K. , now it’s a joke

Some people saying its slow, i actually think its impressively quick considering it had absolutely no momentum from the lif hill going into the main layout, not bad for a first test.

Looks like it’ll be great fun but I still find the length a bit disappointing. Just an addition of a helix or a something would’ve gone a long way. Sure it’s still gonna be the best roller coaster at Thorpe though 😌

It's not ever going to be full speed at a first test, the lift hill was running so slow it gave it no momentum into the main layout,they have to be cautious it's a first test
