The intake air temp is so cold it creates frost on the intake runner. Talk about cold-air intake! This happens even on hot days after going for a rip. Find more about this car @legend.motorsports and @swideways on ig.
Hi- do you mind if I ask: what is your intake set-up? Does it still have a choke? Does the starter spin the engine up fast enough to start it easily? thankyou.
it is a side draft weber style intake , port matched with a 47 mm Sk raciing carb no choke on a fullbridge 12a starts instantly with stock starter mtr.
@UCTRhIPmdcxq02QcM2HVc6Hw First of all Japan taxes count displacement and that would matter a lot to a Japanese company. Second 1.3l is the number if it's measured based of 1 revolution of the crank, like 2 stroke. If you measure it based of 2 revolutions of the crank like the 4 stroke that it you would get 2.6l. However that would include half a rotor, and would mess with that algorithm, so they did it based on one revolution of the crank, because that would yeld consistent results for tuning.
Definitely looks like a rack, not an FC Subframe either (notice it still uses the front cover mount) so I'd guess either an RE-speed kit or something real custom
Cant carburetor icing only happen in relatively cold and humid days. I don't doubt that the intake is cold after a rip on a hot day. But does it really still ice over?
Hello love your work car sounds very nice 👌. I had a question if you dont mind . I'm trying to remove everything I dont need in the engine compartment, but I need help if your so kind and have time to speak to me im available to speak anytime.
I'm looking at the same car right now for sale on FB. In your opinion, would one of these make a good daily driver? Like reliability wise? I am a mechanic and I daily drive beaters like nobodies business but I want some fuel economy because my 79' Cadillac is killing me on gas (I think just about anything would be better in that regard). I want something that's got the guts to bust the rear tires loose if i wanna get sideways. And I want something that's easy to get parts for (apex seals, gaskets, etc.) Never had a rotary and darnit, as badass as they sound, I'm done going without.
What alternator relocation kit are you using? I was reading about some and apperently they have clearance issues with the belt and the distributer. Maybe it was old info, I didn't wanna buy without knowing first though. Seems like it's fine for you
Haha, might have been, but it was an experimental engine port, which John of Legend Motorsports always does on his personal motors. Always pushing the bounds of what's possible, sometimes going too far in order to find the limits. This chassis ended up being very extensively modified so a custom dash was in it's future. See some of the more recent vids of this car on my channel.
this is such a cool build! up the 12a's! just finished building my first 12a Brideport at home, I'm running an IDA though not sidedraft heres my dyno runs ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-04uhsLqKwF8.html
