I'm 49. I still have pictures developed at a drug store that I took when I was a teenager. I've always loved photography. I took a class in college in the 90's and enjoyed it. Got a mirrorless APS-C a few years ago and have enjoyed taking pictures again. Slowly getting better. I work a regular professional M-F 8-5 job, and I would love to make a little extra income with photography. Who knows what it could lead to, but I love your videos and the professionalism and encouragement. I took my daughter's senior pics last year, and her friend's mom wanted me to take her daughter's too. The pictures I took were good, but I have grown since then and could've made them better. And that was my first time getting paid for taking pictures.
Dude whenever I feel like it’s too late for me to start, I’m not good enough, etc - you turn me right around. So many gems in this vid / on this channel. Thank you 🙏🏻
Greetings Steve, Thank you of this segment. It may have been one that I needed to hear in a while. I had an opportunity this past weekend. While returning home. From shooting a gathering of vehicles. I happen to pass by a local Church. They were having a car show to raise funds. So I stopped by and asked if they had a person to record the event? Low and behind it was me that recorded the event. So I owe you a THANK YOU. Mentor. Without your voice in my head saying go for it. One never knows.
I’m already doing exactly this. It’s hard to overcome the fear and when you’re really not ready, there are always failures, but I have experienced victories also. It can be a hard hit to the ego to go out and do something you’re not ready for because you absolutely suck at it, but you get better as you go along.

The best time to start anything is now. Like the Nike ads say - Just Do It. If you wait for the optimum conditions before do something, you will never start.
Sometimes imperfection is perfection and it's not always about achievement but rather what you can endure.. Never stop learning or embrace complacency. What you see or notice today might not be there tomorrow. 📷💞
Hello Sir Carty🤩 I really love how you explain things about photography and how to grow on this craft. The way you speak, you were so gentle. And everything was explained so clearly. Thank you so much for your guidance. I appreciate you. Love from the Philippines 💜
Sir @@stevecartyI wonder if there is a future for someone like me who only uses phone😁 I really love photography but I don't have a camera. But I'll never forget what you've said that we start with what we have. Right now, I keep on shooting using my phone like everyday. Have a nice day Sir. Thank you always!🥰
Perfection is boring. If everything was perfect the world would be not only boring, but meaningless. It's the imperfections that set us apart from everyone else. Our scars, dents and dings are our story and what makes us and everything else apart from unattainable 'perfection." Embrace imperfection. Imperfection is a form of beuty. That's the concept of Wabi-Sabi.
