me too but after playing it for too long it began to bore me and then I started playing Kingdom hearts and final fantasy games and got hooked, and haven't touched RDR2 in ages
I met Ben at a con in 2019 and he was the nicest person there. I spent 10 minutes talking to him about the RDR games and Dutch's character. It was an experience I will never forget.
I love Dutch! Such a good character in rdr2, his voice, and the sad demise of his morals is such a good story. As bad as he was, I do believe deep down he was a good guy who just lost his way.
Yeah, and because he was a leader he had to develop a story about their mission to keep everyone working together, and he started to believe his own BS. I would imagine politicians do this same thing.
Well, that's awesome! I got 100% this year, march 15th. I just hit all 90 challenges completed again on the 13th of April. I'm gonna have another 100% again before the end of April hopefully, only have 2 hunting requests, 3 exotic missions, the graves and the last 2 gangs and after 800 hours I'm still finding new stuff! I'm working on getting my 68 year old dad to play. I lent him my PS4 and showed him how.
I would imagine most of them are passionate. Unfortunately giant corporations like Take Two exist to make as much money as possible, so stupid garbage like Online updates take priority over Story DLC. It has nothing to do with developers. It's their bosses telling them to focus on scummy stuff like microtransactions.
I could listen to Ben for hours and hours - really interesting. Same with your Roger Clark interview. It would be really interesting to get Peter Blomquist as well. I haven't found any in-depth interviews like this, other than the odd question here and there from conventions. I guess many of us absolutely despise Micah, the character, but absolutely LOVE Peters portrayal of him - I know I do.
I wish we had a prequel of the prequel RDR3 should be a Dutch and Hosea with a young Arthur and John. and their fued with the O'Driscols, ending with the Blackwater Massacre.
This place ain't no such thing as civilized, It's man so in love with greed, he has forgotten himself and found only appetites. This is one of my favorite Dutch's lines in the game.
Ben is right, Dutch wasnt with Micah all this time because Micah told John "Dutch and I are teaming up once more..." implying they've only met up recently + as Ben said Dutch tells John he's here to do the same as John and John wasnt here to hug Micah
I know the RDR cast does not consist of triple A Hollywood stars, even though Ben has been a part of some huge Hollywood productions, but I trully hope those guys are extremely proud of what they have achieved with these performances. I know most of these guys dreamed of a big Hollywood career when they were younger and that would have made them a lot more money too, but being Arthur, Dutch or John is the equivalent of being Gandalf or Aragorn in terms of how these characters will never ever be forgotten. Its arguably the best game of all time and it will stay on the top 5 maybe forever so getting the chance to play those characters is huge and I really hope those guys know that. They are iconic performers without having starred in a huge movie or series and there are very few other actors in the world who have reached that stage.
I recon Dutch is a good guy that went wrong and deep down he does have a heart and when I played the game I felt sad to see him change as as the game progressed 😕
I haven't played the first game, but it still gets me when i see Dutch say "our time has passed" thanks to my strong feelings from the second game. Also gets me when John visits the campsites and some moments from the camp start playing in the background. God i loved all those guys we spend time with in the camps.
My top three people to see if you havent done it yet: Laura Bailey- Abby Anderson (the last of us part 2) Yuri Lowenthal- Peter Parker/Spider-Man (and Sasuke Uchiha dub) (Marvel's Spider-Man) (Naruto) Peter Blomquist- Micah Bell (red dead 2)
@@connormurphy1964 yes it's hard to find a solid interview with him. To interview two talented actors who played two of the most hated characters from 2 different games would be gold!
Makes me always sad to see Dutch becoming more paranoid losing his Faith for everyone and everything. Dutch is my favorite alongside with John, Jack, Arthur. 😊❤🖤
Would love to see you have a conversation with Alex McKenna!! Loved Sadie Adler and how her character developed throughout the game, and would be cool to hear more from her.
Such an interesting interview, thank you! I love seeing actors so invested and frankly interested in the character they've played, hearing Davis speculating about the plot and theories etc was awesome.
I've owned red dead 2 for about a month now, and played the original 2/3 months ago, it was my first rockstar game and probably my favorite or second favorite from the 3 I've played so far I've been playing it for about 2 ½ weeks since I got my PS5 and it's been great I just finished the main story today and just got done doing the favour for an old friend mission with sadie hunting del lobos from the epilogue. I love this game and it's gotten me into westerns, it's a beautiful game and I can't wait to hear about what the actor for dutch has been up to recently.
Every voice actor in this game did so awesome Dutch is one of the best characters ever along with Arthur and honestly basically yeah everyone else in the game
my guess is maybe a month or a few weeks prior to the interview he emails the actor and if they are down to do an interview they schedule a date when the actor has free time
Byron is an absolute legend 👏 what a guy and what a mocap artist, incredible 💯 hope we see him in the next Red Dead, surely they will go back even further to the gang's hay day so we can see them at their peak 🤞 more games with the Van Der Linde gang the better 😁😁
RDR2 is the best game I’ve ever played, btw I’m going to watch this whole fucking thing without looking at Dutch. Would ruin my immersion just how I roll. Big thank you for having him on.
I love that his normal voice is Dutch. Like he eats bowls of nails with no milk and smokes a pack of Reds for breakfast. I wish my normal voice was that cool. Haha!
Moments whenever Ben's voice harden, his brow creases, forehead vein poppin, his eyes got that serious stare... Man I can see Dutch going into boss mode... 'Insist?'
This game is one of the best games of all time. Rockstar absolutely smashed it with RDR2. So much content and stunning quality. The amount of detail and work that went into this game is just next level. My favourite game ever 👌🏼❤️
You've been getting alot of good interviews lately . I would be shaking if I did this lol awesome job . You're making your way to the top . ☺️ Definitely subbed . Wish I could've been able to see this live
What if every red dead game (1,2, maybe more depending on time period) is all what jack wrote into a book called red dead (the one you can find in gta)
I caught this video very, very late but loved it. I can't say that I liked Dutch very much but as a character I think he was brilliant. Really good to see and hear the actor behind the work. Really enjoyed seeing this. Off, now, to see Arthur Morgan!
@@DanAllenGaming hell yeah i rarely see these amazing talents speaking on a personal level for a long time and to an aussie, and they seem really happy to talk about it all dutch is so chill wish i caught them live like magnus from assassins creed, im still hanging onto the hope of a 3rd red dead playing as him leading the gang to greatness up to the blackwater massacre lol
45:51 “I can never black hat Arthur.” Me either. I always resolve “This playthru I’m gonna make Arthur more of a baddie” and is just can’t bring myself to.
I think they should remake rdr1 with the Rdr2 game mechanics that would be awesome as for Rdr3 I don't think they should do it sometimes less is more the story telling of rdr1 and 2 was so perfect it doesn't need a 3rd game the story ended perfectly in my opinion 😊👍
