I’m so excited I can’t hardly stand it! I just purchased some molds & worked w clay for the first time. I used model magic on roses & mermaid tails. They turned out pretty good. Very interesting. I was excited for you that it worked and impatient to see results myself.😊 I just recently started working with the IOD moulds using air dry clay or the quick setting resin. I am definitely on the learning curve with painting etc., using the moulds and whole process.

If you put the silicon in a small container (I use travel soap cases) your mold doesn't slide all over the place. Also, for dry foods/materials, you can dry the silicon with a soft paper towel before molding. It doesn't have to be wet.

Hi Daveda, thank you so much for posting this how to video. I am excited to try this. I wanted to tell you that using white model magic clay you can mix acrylic paints into the clay to get the color you want. ( wear gloves as it is messy but it mixes in well). Dawn from the PINK TREE used the technic making colored marshmallows for Confetti squares. I have done the same using her tips and my squares worked out well. I also added brown paint to make mini choc. chips so I can make Mint Choc. chip ice cream and choc. chip cookies.. They are so sweet!!! Love your videos and thanks again.

Making your own molds is great fun! I've made some for my epoxy dogtags🐶⚘🐺

What i do, i use cornstarch and silicone and put in a square or rectangle tray, and push the item i wanna mold and in the next Day i have a perfect mold out of the tray and removing the item’s i put into the mold, i can make it more even and perfect. I use plastic fruits, coins, cookies; oreos and even sferes, it’s easier, and at the end look like a bought silicone mould.

For your pair of supplies or just add white glue.. you're welcome ❤️🇨🇦😊 PVA glue (white glue) does get used as an additive for plaster of Paris. In construction work, it improves stickiness and bonding to the substrate. For molds, it could make them hold better against cracking.

for my coffee bean mold i also use plaster of paris. 👏👏👏

Great video!You’ve inspired me to make some out of the silicon and Dawn dish detergent!Oh and if you put your mold with the model magic in the freezer for 10-15 minutes it will pop right out!!

28:55 the crackers, i do the same way, a plastic tray that you can keep when you buy something in a grocery store, make your mould paste with silicone and cornstarch, i use to Color with food die, or other pain or spices that are colored , Color dye like: paprika; saffron and chili and curry, than i stick the. Crackers way down, só we can see the impressions of All the cracker and when you remove from the plastic mold, it’s perfect; remove the crackers and you can make new pieces of art in one go, and it’s a work more perfect than doing just one mould.

I think I prefer the cornstarch procedure better. It looks like your able to get a deeper impression with the cornstarch mold. I don’t like the slipperiness of the wet/Dawn mold. They all turned out great’ it’s wonderful to have your favorite molds whenever you want them!!! Thank you!!❤️❤️❤️. How long did they have to set up before the food can be removed?

Your molds came out perfect the lemon apple of the banana the strawberry all of them looks so good out of all the videos that I’ve seen on RU-vid yours is the best the way you edit the video and did everything so nice and clean I love how you get excited I was excited for you lol I am a new beginner in candlemaking and I want to make some molds and I just love the way you did your molds and I could see the in printers of the mold I think you did an awesome job thank you for making this video it is so helpful I can’t wait to start making my molds.

You may want to try air dry foam clay. It doesn’t crack on you. That would be a good one to make your coffee beans out of. 😊

The only thing I would do different is that I would use those little containers they have at Dollar tree to create the mold

That’s how I have made molds for about 4 years for my grand daughters American girl dolls

This was very interesting. When I make a mold can I fill it with candy melt to make shapes to put on a cake?

Ok so I followed The Pink Tree tutorial before I seen yours she did the cornstarch way anywhoo she said you can take your cookie out after about 20-30 minutes which I did a Hershey bar. It definitely imprinted but when I put my clay in the mold and take it out the word barely shows and it's backwards?? I seen you left yours clay in the molds longer and even talked about patience because I'm just like you I'm excited and take it out as soon as I can so my question did I maybe not press down hard enough did I take out to quickly? And I'm still stuck on why Hershey reads backwards does your oreo read correctly? Thanks you and Dawn are my go to favorites your both so kind and get to the point of what your doing so easy to follow along! Thanks for your help and awesome videos!

Does Plaster of Paris in the corn starch and silicone molds work? Do I have to get the mold wet before I pour the plaster in? I'm just afraid of the plaster not releasing from the mold once it's dry.

Mine won’t set and I used the same silicone as you but in the color white. Does it have to be clear silicone?

Do the dawn soap and silicone mold method smell as bad as making the cornstarch molds? I made ur method of cornstarch n they came out great but the smell was too overwhelming for me!

On your lemon mold why don't you try adding a little hot glue on the crack

I just made my first molds, the water and Dawn method. I left them on a silicone mat to "cure" and then could not remove them from the mat. I just cut around each mold and each of them have a backing. My question is, what type of mat did you let yours "cure" on so that they could be removed easily? I did pecan halves and strawberry halves and they turned out great.

I want to make a mold from a fake "icing" but this icing is attached to a felt decoration. But I don't know what to use to make the mold without damaging my decoration.
