I have 4 Onn4k in the states. I love them . I have no problems sideloading, which I have done. The price is great. I bought them from Walmart 21.69 a piece delivered.

I think you going in the right direction td as people now have really had enough of amazon,a once customizable nifty little device(thanks to all your tweaks)has become a relentless tiresome game of cat and mouse,I for one have ditched firestick os 7&8 still have os 6 and main viewing through nvidia shield with no headaches,thank you td for heads up on the onn box will be ordering a couple of these and the firesticks will door as door wedges 👍

We can't get them in Canada without going to ebay. The prices are ridiculously inflated and the bargain is no longer there. I wish I could get my hands on two or three of them for the real price of $19 US dollars. I'm absolutely done with Amazon and want to change over to something else. I still use my Shield but would rather not purchase another one just due to the cost.

The TDUK is the greatest. My problem with buying the ONN box is that Walmart could do the same thing as Amazon now that the company bought Vizeo and can tweak Vizeo's OS in the near future. Then we are back to square one.

It's a good box. I bought one. It's a bit slower than the sticks noticably slower than my cube but it's not nuetered like the Amazon devices currently are. I'll probably swap over as my sticks die or get further dunked on.

I've been using the Onn box since you recommending it from Walmart. the only problem I have is that if USB debugging is turned on, then the USB storage isn't being seen, so I have to shut off the debugging and reboot again, then turn it back on once the USB drive is seen, but it's 100% better then my firestick!

When using launcher manager with ATV or Wolf you have (at least in the past) had to choose either USB debugging or expanded storage. Hopefully, you can find a workaround.@@TechDoctorUK

You have to go to (Select USB Configuration) and where it says Charging go down to RNDIS (USB Ethernet) than reboot.

Walmart has a habit of ignoring their devices after a couple of yrs so I'd rather spend a few extra dollars on a Google tv if I were to switch from a firestick... with Google tv there is no need for an otg adapter to plug in extra storage I believe it has a USB port on the box and it recognizes storage right away...not to mention you'll always get the latest android updates... As it is though I don't have much of a reason to switch from my firesticks. Nothing has been blocked on mine yet. The main things I use it for are tvmate and smartube...plus, having it work with my Alexa device is just a bonus...I don't think onn devices are Alexa or Google enabled.

Great video glad the U.K. can finally get these Boxes at a fair price and not a Jacked Up price. Please show more tips and tricks, I noticed with the older ONN Boxes they don't run Android 12 therefore u have to write the commands In through Remote ABD Shell, but u do have the option to use the USB as full storage, partial or removable.

I did get one of these and it works great, with one exception. I cannot figure out how to get it to turn on both my HDMI Tv as well as my AV receiver at the same time. It will do one or the other but not both at the same time. Any idea if this is a capability, like it was with my Firestick 4K?

Due to Amazon removing ADB in its latest update. Blame Amazon not TDUK and or apply for a refund. The more who apply for a refund the greater the chances of Amazon reinstating ADB.

The workaround if after you do what you need to do with ADB disable it. You don't need it on all the time.

I removed myself away from any and all of the Amazon & Roku streaming devices - neither one provided me with what I neede them to do and their price were on the higher end. I went with Chromecast with Google TV 4k which was alot better but then decided to try the Onn 4k device. I have to say that they both have the exact same functionality and capabilities but if I had to pick 1, it would certainly be the ONN box due to its lower price tag $19.88 at Walmart. Not sure why you buy this anywhere else because it's a Walmart brand and they have it for the lowest price.

I'm still on 2-first gen fire sticks one for my bedroom & the other on now in the sitting room,Google I've only used for the odd Search on my iPhone like football times of kick offs to places I'm going Ect. One very interesting video but not a thing I would buy into as Google love your info to do much more,I have always went by Doc Squiffys channel & site useing a free VPN by Award that's a great App that's flawless. In the UK all newspapers are still spreading the Door Chappers Story as many IPTV vendors are being hit & fined 10k a pop but yet no real videos have came to light showing the so called Copyright Police Door Knockers As Yet. I use it in the USA great device. Only issue is once you disconnect it it won't work with ethernet after the initial setup 🤷🏾 other than that it is awesome and does everything the FS does

I would like to know if the ONN alternative can transfer content (movies) to an external source. I have a 500gb ext hard drive gathering dust and would like to be able to take movies away on holiday. I used this in the past on a pc with torrents though the quality was never that good. If I can do this would you mention what I would need to do it connection wise. I would order 1 of these ONN devices now but I am off on holiday in a few days and would prefer to be at home for it arriving.

This is useless with CHD with ads. The ads play over and over with no way to clear them. Tried mouse toggle and doesn't work. You can't mouse click anything. If you don't pick the right link first time you have to task kill the entire app and start over.

Any buffering or lag you experience has to do more with your internet speeds and the servers being used on a particular app.

And I reiterate, any lag you experience would have more to do with your internet speed...you asked "when watching movies" which would be while streaming...if you watch a downloaded movie then there shouldn't be any lag at all, unless your movie player is faulty...this onn box has 4gb of ram in it... that's more than any firestick 4k and Chromecast so you shouldn't see any lag navigating the os, unless of course you fill it with 101 apps.

Can you explain a bit more as i don't really get the sound qualitys i use mx player and premium stream's with Dolby ect work. Well I get good sound.

Thanks for this content. Couple questions: 1. Has Onn every pushed out any firmware updates? I know that it comes with a updater app pre-installed (or at least my Onn box which I bought 3 years ago did) and everytime I click on it I just get a busy/waiting icon and nothing happens. 2. Has Onn updated the hardware/version of its box at all, or is the Onn box using the same hardware which the original Onn box that was released a while back? 3. I know there are adapters to add an ethernet port to the Onn box, but I believe their speed is limited to 100Mbs because of the limited bandwidth allowed from the Onn's microUSB port. High bandwidth is essential when steaming games using apps like moonlight & sunlight to provide the best framerate possible. Do you know if Onn intends to create a box eith a 1GB ethernet port?

You should get a different box then, onn is a budget brand made for basic streaming. Walmart doesn't really update their products due to their low cost. Should the product ever fail they simply expect you to buy another. You're better off getting a new Chromecast for a few dollars more which tends to get the latest Android updates.

This is the type of video i've been waiting for as currently i can access all the apps i need via the Firestick but am looking for an alternative - Shame it doesn't have Dolby vision - Is BBC i-player and all the other UK streaming services available on this device?
