Welcome to our first Sunday show of 2024 from Newcastle International airport, as we blow the dust off our kit following our Friday live stream from Madrid Barajas airport with some very heavy gusts approaching 50 mph, courtesy of Storm Kathleen. With straight down the barrel runway views we'll get to see the pilots putting their skills to work. With a nice relaxed pace and friendly company in the chat the scene is set for an interesting show.

I was on that flight ls532 with the 2 failed attempts its starts at 1hour 59 into the video , unbelievable

HI Mark, blimey! Really sorry you guys had to divert to Stansted. Folks watching our stream were tracking your route, initially the thinking was you were off to LBA, then MAN, then BHX and of course your final destination STD. It must of been a relief when they flew you rather than bused you back! What was the feeling like on board during the go arounds? I was bit surprised they didn't give it a third go, but supposed fuel levels had entered the equation - clearly they had plenty though. I think somebody in the chat said Jet 2's standard procedure is to divert after two goes. Really hope you had a good holiday though - weather has mostly been its usual joke here! That jet2 that went around twice that diverted to stansted was the most followed flight on flight rader24 lol

It was fascinating on the ground but obviously no fun at all for the poor folks on that flight, with it appearing to be heading for MAN, then BHX before STN! The main thing is they got home safely and got flown back by Jet2 rather than having to face the ordeal of a coach ride. I didn't realise it had become the most followed Fr24 at the time - thanks for that and for posting. Cheers Mark

There must be a rule or something like two go arounds only then divert but anyway I was on that jet2 ls532 had to spec lot of money to get home to Newcastle from flipping Stansted lol
