I drive a 2017 Silverado High Country. LED lamps and signals, similar to this. My headlights are 1100+, per side, from the factory! So yah, I can promise you those headlights are actually well over a grand.. each.
Landcrusier Sahara Td v8 is $90000usd in Australia, is why this f450 limited dual wheel is $100000usd in USA. Cars and pick up truck Cost more to build today because of Government and union leaders regulations the consumer and business owners always worse off
Well I don't think there that rare, but the Ford store I work with rarely get any of these to sell. Actually the biggest Ford truck we usually have is the Ford F350. We just special order these F450's if someone is buying it. Where I live in Charleston South Carolina I still don't see many of these F450's on the roads. I think someone that's buying a truck that size is probably doing some car hauling or pulling some kind of trailer. Thanks for watching the review and I appreciate your question.
holsteincowboy ... I happened to see one today. They are not terribly rare, but they don’t stand out enough to get noticed. Most just see them as any other truck.
holsteincowboy there not too terribly rare but they are the least selling of the super duties, but by far the most capable (not including chassis cabs).
Advantage the 450 has over a 350 is the wide track front suspension and 19.5 wheels. Other than that the 350 has a higher payload rating the widetrack front gives you a much tighter turning radius and easier to maneuver and park
not truly accurate. I have a 2017 F-450 platinum yes the widetrack is 3" wider each side which cuts the turning radius almost 8 feet smaller than a F-350, the rear axle housing is the same but the 450 has 4.30 gear ratio with a ring gear larger than the 350, also the axle shafts are larger than the 350. the 19.5" whhels are medium duty truck tires with each tire capable of physically holding just under 4000 lbs. this also facilitates the largest front disc rotors of nearly 16" not available on the 350. ford rates the gvw at 14,000 which is the same as the 350 but because the 450 weighs more there is the "decreased payload" GVW minus actual truck weight = payload. but this truck could and should have a higher GVW between 16k-18k which would gve a payload vastly over a 350, but ford does this to keep the truck non-cdl if the truck is rated higher its costs bore and forces people into a different license. legally a class A non commercial is required if truck and trailer combined weigh 26,001 lbs or more and the trailer is over 10k lbs a class B if under 26K and trailer under 10K. the GMC kodiak 4500 has a GVWR of 19,500 and GCVWR of 25,999 (to stay under the magic 26k threshold of CDL requirements) and a payload of appox 10k. The dodge 4500 has a GVWR of 16,500 and a payload of 9k. the ford has a current payload of 7600 lbs but if given a higher GVW 100% of that increased rating goes to payload capacity. Class 4 Medium truck 14,001-16,000 pounds (6,351-7,257 kg) Ram 4500, GMC 4500, Ford E-450, Ford F-450 [9], HINO 155 COE[10]. my 450 has i higher tow rating than a 350 by several thousand pounds and a CGWR more than 6k lbs.
Really...F-450's are common where we live. Just not the Limited package. The limited package is the Top of the line package for Ford...step down is the Platinum package
I remember when you could get this kind of truck for $38,000 what happened my pay scale didn't go up to be able to afford something this expensive this is a house, our first home cost $23,000 in 1974
InTheFleshInc ... I remember throwing a fit and cursing up a storm when regular gasoline went over $1/gallon. (And yes, I mean regular leaded gasoline) haha
@@romanticdonkey468, Yeah around 1982 it was like $0.98 cents a gallon we owned a gas station in Albuquerque, New Mexico just down front Kirtland Airforce Base. Now you would not recognize the area we live because it's all developed, it used to be desert and beauty you could ride dirk bikes all over, those day's are gone.
There is absolutely no way that truck is worth $100K it is absolutely absurd and the financially irresponsible who willingly bow to the alter of the manufacturers. I’m willing to bet 99% of those trucks are financed and that truck will depreciate in value every mile you put on it and the interest the bank of Ford will make.
There is no pick up truck worth 100,000 in my eyes. I got better things to buy with 100,000 than any truck. I remember buying a new 1998 chevy dually at 18,000 and my grand father telling me im crazy. And i now know why he said it, todays generations like all the bells and whistles and i surely will never spend big money on a truck. They lose so much value as soon as you sighn the papers.
Hell naw! Never again! I bought three for my Transport business and neither one lasted even 100K miles!!!!!!!!! And constantly stayed in the damn shop! Yes they look good but they are NOT WORKING TRUCKS!!!! I went with the Cummins! 160k later still NOT a damn problem!
sukatoe ... And you’ll hear many say the same in reverse. The 2 trucks I see running Hotshot the most are Fords and Dodge’s. Both fantastic trucks. Sometimes people just have bad luck with a particular brand. Though, all manufactures have their years where they turned out crap products. Maybe your Fords were from the embarrassing years? Either way, Cummins is a great engine. I have one in my Kenworth. Best of luck with your business.
Blame government and union leaders regulations it expensive = higher wholesale price for dealership to loan them to sell too consumers like you. There less net profit today in new cars and pick up truck than 20 yrs ago . If you have watch Kevin hunt videos he a liar
If you were talking about the pdi and wash detail diy, then why did you not wash your hands after touching the tires, you touched the the seats with those dusty dirty hands..?? Because that money didn't come out of your pocket so who cares...right!?
kenny kennysson ... The man is going to use this truck to tow hit Bobcat (tractor) around for his business. It will be a work truck. The man didn’t smear 5th wheel grease all over the leather. Bottom line... calm down, no need to get all emotional, it’s a work truck.
It one hella truck for 100g's. You should make a video on the f550 then. But I assuming you never seem one of those as well. Jk hope you can take a joke
Ford understates their trucks abilities on paper. However Dodge overstates their abilities on paper. 10 years and 4 Duallys with Dodge and I'll never go back. Be smart and don't get killed buy a Ford no modifications required
yeah I've been under a rock for a while now lol. we just don't sell many of these at our dealership. again we're in the country and I guess us country folk don't buy $90K trucks as much as the city folk do lol.
Wtf weird truck. 450? So interesting. I hope you show us more unique cars/trucks. Can you possibly show us some newer model Buick SUVs? I want one so bad... They are sweet! Check out the Buick Enclave and Buick Encore. Sweet rides I'm tellin ya!
Blame government and union leaders more greedy for slice of the pie from corpraton why cars cost more to build today = less net profit in pick up trucks and higher wholesale price for dealership to loan them to sell too consumers like you
