I was actually having a look at the boat yesterday and wondering how it's held up. Truth be told my testing methods probably weren't that effective as I only cleaned and coated one side so it's hard to determine what is reasonable aging vs. not. However, after the clean and coating it's been mostly stain free for over two years so I am confident it has done something.
@@GriftCo yeah nice. Can i also ask about the tig welder you used? Was it expensive to buy and very hard to learn to weld tig? I did lots of mig back in school so got half an idea
@@Dan-wi3mq I think all up with all of the needed peripherals it was about $3k. This is including the welder, gas, helmet, gloves, filler, trolley etc. $1800 for the Welder alone. As for learning, it's a steep learning curve and challenging without a guiding hand. There are heaps of good resources on RU-vid but nothing will compare to proper tutelage. My welding is far better than when I started and having your own welder will make it feasible to practice, but I still have times where I want lessons
Thanks Jairus, I’m not sure I’d say she’s best suited for swell. With relatively shallow draft she gets moved around a lot, there’s been a couple times where I’ve taken her across the heads of Sydney Harbour which was a very wet experience, one that I will try and avoid!
