This is a commercial for the SeaLife Micro 3.0. Nice footage from the Sealife against a guy pointing to the Olympus. Also the Olympus has several features that you didn't talk about, like the impressive microscope and focus stacking, etc. I don't know if the Sealife has anything of it, but since you don't mention any of that, it's either worse or non existing in the Sealife. In the end, you video helped me a lot. I came here to find an alternative to the TG-6 I already have. Clearly the Sealife isn't it

2:42 The Olympus TG-6 is waterproof for up to 50 feet? The SeaLife Micro 3.0 has a waterproof rating of 200 feet! Not sure how the Olympus won that bout. 🤔

I agree. The Olympus was very disappointing in tropical shallow water streams. Lens fogs up. Battery runs out, even after a short time though actually it still has charge remaining. Can’t take or fails to take still pictures at 4K. SeaLife is quite expensive though.

The Olympus TG-6 is good to 50 feet without a housing… The Sealife is good to 200 feet without a housing. Doesn’t that say it all? One really needs a HOUSING to dive with the Olympus TG-6, right?

so you telling me you gunna judge the camera by deapth rating?? lol ok..

@@Mrveescuba You are correct that my comment "Doesn't that say it all" is not really a good comment. As you imply, there are many factors besides depth that determine just how good the dive camera is. What I should have stated is something like this: "For SCUBA diving to depths of greater than 50 feet and for those of us wishing to have a quality-build, multi-featured and easy-to-use underwater camera that takes excellent videos and photos, consideration should be given to the SeaLife Micro 3.0 -- that can go to 200 feet withOUT a housing". (I was just surprised that this RU-vid review didn't even mention that fact). Thanks for your comment! Steve on Sunday 25 December 2022

@@stephenschulte3996 yeap thats much better!! in my honest opinion and i dont own one either tg6 or sealife,but with the amount of time i put on research believe me the tg5 tg6 for me is better cause of plethora of parts that can make my fotos 1000 times better 1000 times easier. like i said on my main comment,macro capabilities its outstanding we can compare them to super expensive rigs.wide angle dome ports for split shoots snoots for macro life.2 ports for strobe lights everyone needs and more and more!!if i was just a casual diver that makes a green picture and things that pic is amazing,ok fair enough if you make pictures shallow water you dont that amount of ligth ok fair enough..but over all i think tg6 its better.have a nice day merry xmass to you and your family.

@@Mrveescuba Thanks and Merry Christmas to you too! Myself, I've had 2 cameras get "drowned" over the past 10 years due to O-rings / housing leaks. OK likely my fault but I'm really looking forward to trying-out (and perhaps getting) the Sealife Micro 3.0 -- I don't need to shoot in RAW and I see there is an optional available macro lens for about $75 - PLUS I like the idea of the 3 "piano keys" and one shutter / selection button. AND one can change white balance (or anything else) while diving (not sure one can do that with a camera in a housing… but maybe…) Again a dive camera without a housing and only 4 'buttons' -- think this will be the next dive camera for me… (Now in a few years I might move to the TG6 or will it be TG7 then??). Thanks for your comments!!

@@stephenschulte3996 well white balance is very important uw!!but even on tg5 tg6 once you manage your setings you dont need to press any other buttons for years to come!!so the buttons yes sound good to have only 3 but actually you dont press them 200 times underwater.but ok lets say button config you like it.pictures its 1000 times better to shoot raw,even pro fototgrafers twick the pics on the pc no foto exist that it is been pubblished whithout processing the image!! fototshop or lightroom or what ever they use!!lets say ok you shoot jpeg thas fine .what about ligth after 4 meters you loose red you need whitebalance and you need ligth if you shoot stills its better to have strobes sealife doesnt have port for that..its a very basic entry level camera.tg5 tg6 its ther entry aswell with a pontential to grow for years and years..even if your housing leaked the camera it wont drawned cause the pressure its not tha much.

I use TG6, in a case,-60m with a Sea n Sea strobe and LED Lights. Unless you have really shot Macro AND Micro still and video underwater with a TG6-7 you don't know what you are dealing with. I have had buddies with $5000+ camera kit that don't believe what I can take in Macro, and on the same dive in wide angle. I haven't dived the Sealife. It may be very good, But what I can tell you TG6 is THE mother IN macro .
@srenb1734
@srenb1734 Год назад
You just jumped over the TG-6 macro function. Wide angle is just much better on the tg-6 with the use of an external lens… and fewer buttons on the Sealife does not beat the tg-6 options for full prof camera controls under water. And what about video, macro video, strobe…? And how to get the Sealife to 60m of depth? And more pixels does not by default make better pictures under water due to the small particles in the water but more advanced camera controls does…

Some great points you raise! I see the Sealife Micro 3.0 has a one and 2 strobe option; plus a macro lens -- all at additional cost of course. As to the 60 meters (200 feet) - I believe that is more of a specification / safety value. I don't think this is targeted for technical diving to 200 feet. Excellent point about the particles in the water -- I can't always dive in the Red Sea and even then - it's not glass-clear there!! Thanks!

What about image stabilization on both cameras? Does it affect the quality of underwater photos?
