I've long been tempted to pick up an Olympus Tough camera so I can go out in the utterly epic monsoon rain we get here in the Philippines and take street shots
I do it in Taiwan. I'm not a serious photographer nor do I even know that much about photography but think what I get is better than what you see on the news.
I bought a TG-7 a few months back and I absolutely love it. Used it for street, macro and even my sons football matches. 20fps and 1080p 60fps is actually really good. Dont have to baby it like my Canon M50
See I love cameras like this that you can put through it and not care about giving it some knocks. It’s something I’ve somewhat overlooked until recently 🖖
@DavidFlowerOfficial 100% mate. It's actually quite liberating being out in the field and just concentrating on your composition. Top video, enjoyed that one. Stumbled upon it by chance but subbed
I bought a canon powershot elph115- Is 5 yrs ago for £4 from a charity shop. Immaculate condition and I'm still using it. Awesome little camera and the photo's are very punchy and full of colour..
Yes, it’s an interesting street shooter the TG-6. The results very much remind me of what my Ricoh GRD IV is capable of, but it has the speed of a GR III. I love the fact that it’s waterproof too. Try going out in the pissing rain with a Ricoh!
It really does surprise me at this point that so many premium cameras have terrible or no weather sealing. I remember shooting Silverstone with my old Nikon dslrs in terrible weather and they never skipped a beat. I certainly don’t have that much faith in most of my current cameras surviving those conditions with the exception of the EM1 mkii maybe😂
On the subject of point and shoots, I just ordered a Lumix LX-100 for travel, concerts, EDC a couple days ago. Taking it on a little concert trip next weekend with my wife. Super stoked. Next p&s I'm thinking Nikon p7800 or Olympus Stylus 1S
Hi Dave, I purchased a second hand TG4 a couple of years ago mainly for the underwater facility. But I was surprised at how good it was for general photography in particular the ‘macro’ feature. I always take it with my on beach holidays as it’s perfect.
One of my best P&S cameras was an Olympus model...cannot remember the exact model but it rocked...it was so small and the shots comparable to my gf of the time's DSLR in many cases, and it even had a pretty functional optical zoom around 24x or something. I think it was 12MP. I gave it to my Mom and she probably still has it all these years later. I kinda want it back lol. I remember it only being around $300, too.
I absolutely love these point and shoot cameras and I think in the right hands they’re incredibly capable. That Canon G10 though😍 Thanks for watching 🖖
Thanks, mate. Yeah it’s kinda bonkers to me that the channel has got this far. Fingers crossed for 10k by the end of the year 🤞😁 Thanks for watching, Grant🖖
@@DavidFlowerOfficial Your doing a great job mate - 90% of Channels NEVER Get to 10,000 Subscribers!!! So you are doing something right :) Hopefully I'll get their by the end of the year too! Well, thats my goal anyway!!! lol
@grantrobertdavies Yes! It’s a bit mad when you start looking at the numbers regarding channels. I think the first of your videos I saw was the “GH5 in 2023” video and that was when I subbed (and bought a GH5 in 2023😂) Keep them coming, mate 🖖
To get the best out of any camera you’re better shooting in raw and in camera adjustments to colour profiles etc don’t affect raw files so adjustments are applied later. If JPEGs are sufficient for your needs, then in camera adjustments are possible but depending on the camera, there is only so much that can be done.
@@DavidFlowerOfficial Yer out with a Dwarf camera shooting a Dwarf scurrying to hide behind his cone while you're on the way to D'warf (the significance of which you try to conceal by calling it [poncy talk] a 'Marina'). Open and shut case, fellah. (ps 'sploitate'! what a good word....)
When I was looking into this type of camera I was actually surprised at how many companies make or have made them. Might be interesting to see how they compare to one another 🖖
@RealBesty Yeah I hadn’t seen them either, but I found models from Kodak, Ricoh, Nikon, Fujifilm and Lumix. I can definitely see one of these joining the collection as a bad weather camera so I don’t need to break out a big old dslr👍
