As you know, I provide consultations on studying abroad, but very often, we discuss much more existential questions.
For example, is it even worth pursuing music?
Most people who start with music in childhood, by the end of school, have been doing it for about 10 years and are uncertain about whether to continue with something they are already good at or venture into something else.
In my opinion, there is a stigma in the classical music world that if you don’t feel that music is your calling, you shouldn’t pursue it all.
I believe that life is much more multifaceted. Over the years, I’ve seen many people leave music, realizing something about themselves that they would have never understood without trying this profession.
It turns out that any step, even in such an elitist, « not for everyone » profession, is valid.
The key is not to feel like a hostage to it just because you’ve invested so many years in it.
I think in the modern world, it’s unnecessary to explain that with the right efforts, you can change your direction at any moment. And if you don’t have it yet, it will surely appear over time.
