Today we have a long drive from Marahau to the Nelson Lakes National Park, so we get to enjoy the changing scenery standard from a New Zealand roadtrip. We reach the beginning of the Southern Alps which means we’ve hit the beautiful Nelson Lakes National Park.
We park up at Lake Rotoiti which is just off the main state highway and half a minute drive from the town of St Arnaud. First things first, we need to get that token photo of the Lake Rotoiti Jetty!
Here, we see wildlife, especially eels (tuna in Maori) under the jetty, as well as crazy-looking ducks and swans.
We also find “the hidden” Lake Rotoiti Jetty for your viewing pleasure.
Well, there’s not much else to say about Lake Rotoiti other than there are a couple of hikes in the area should you want to go exploring more.

Sometimes after a long day of driving, filming and talking to the camera Robin looses his mind and that kind of things comes out... We usually cut it in the edit but when we have a bit of spare screen time we like to show what it is like in his brain... not pretty haha

That's another place I haven't been to since the early 1970s(I know I'm old!) I was traveling with my parents and a family friend and she knew all the edible plants and berries. There were snow berries in the beech forest by the lake, I remember eating those!

haha I went there for the Jetty and found the wrong one hhaha, it wasnt until after I left that I realised the right one was around the corner, funnily enough I had stayed in the campsite right next to the Jetty that night and didnt even realise hahah.

Haha, oh well. the "wrong jetty" is just as good though right? Less eels though. How was the campsite there?

haha just as good but not as good lol, it didnt have the leading line like the OG one and had some posts missing, def no eels which is odd, I was there early June though
