I do same almost same speed in 5th gear with a reduced sprocked oO. I think mine has a map. You have stock sprocket ? You switch gear too early, you should almost hit the limiter. No it cant. And your average gsx-r 600 cant reach 280 too. Calibrate speedo first man, then you will see. Or put gps speedo next, plenty of guys did that already, check it.
