We just found out that we’re expecting twins and I immediately felt overwhelmed with fear of how I would be able to handle everything. I am a homeshooling mama of 3 and I always feel overwhelmed ... my last born is 1 and he is always disrupting the older kids during class time and I am struggling to figure out how to make it work with him because doing school in the evenings when daddy gets home is out of the question. any suggestions
One of the best takes from FlyLady is to keep the kitchen clean and shine that sink every night before bed! There is nothing like walking into a clean kitchen when you wake up each morning (and walk across swept and clean floors) it starts one’s day off with a happy sigh. I also do quick cleans throughout the week (I am a work outside the home gal) but on my 3 days off work, I pick one room each week to do a deep clean where everything gets pulled out, ceilings, walls and floors get a good scrub, furniture gets a thorough clean, windows, curtain, rugs, etc gets attention for however long it takes that one day- and you can do that when you do a basic tidy and clean throughout the week- this weekend I am gone for a long weekend away with my granddaughter (who lives with us) doing college campus tours and shopping for Christmas and because of those quick tidy ups each day, I won’t heartburn about not doing a good once over. Like you do, one load a day of laundry keeps the mountain a small hill and if you fold as you take items out of the dryer or off the line makes it much easier to feel accomplished regarding laundry (notice I didn’t mention putting away 😅 but at least the clothes won’t be wrinkled when you reach for them!). Part of the bedtime routine with our kids and now grandkids is after dinner, toys are picked up and put away, pleasure reading books are taken out and we all pile into our living room to read and talk as each person takes a bath or shower (there use to 12 of us in the house) and then we would cuddle the littles and read with them, put them to bed, then cuddle with the bigger ones and just talk before their bedtime. Routine makes a difference to the start and end of the day.
You must be a stay at home mum. My daughter works 3 days per week 8hrs per day, she never seems to stop, even when she gets home, her & her hubby also have a 6 year old & almost 9 year old son. Plus a collie-lab & a 2 year old lab. She's always on the go. I can't say she loves housework, it's just another unpaid job that needs doing.
@@lynnescaddan8919 I completely understand I’m always on the go too. I have a 6, 9, 10, and 12 year old, 4 birds and a hamster and I work 9 hr shifts four days out of the week. But I have to agree with the above comment cleaning is just a lot better when the kids are a school or out of the house and I can clean in peace. 😅 It does feel just like another unpaid job but definitely more relaxing none the less without the kiddos and I can blast music.😊
I don't know. I may be indifferent. I rather use the quiet time to read, sew, or create crafts. I'll definitely need it if I ever start writing again. I fit in the cleaning here and there. I do miss being able to play documentaries and calming RU-vid videos while I did stuff throughout the day. It's not the same anymore.
I was feeling so overwhelmed with my house and our stuff! I started to go as minimal as possible especially with clothes and the meal plan. My husband also reminded me that my girls need to be helping. So lately if I'm cleaning they are up also cleaning and helping me out. They are finally at an age where a few of them are capable of helping! I know things get out of control so easily and I love it when my husband takes them all somewhere. I forgot how much I can do with no one under my feet.

Guilty. I eat the bread of idleness most days. Some days it is so hard to unglue myself from my bed or my couch. I'm trying to get better at it. I work from home as a bookkeeper, so I'm using the next few weeks to get myself in a routine with keeping my home clean, homeschooling my daughter and working and stick with it. This was so helpful to get me off my butt this morning, lol.

When my kids were all at home and small, the laundry piled up. One of my 4 daughters took over the job of drying and folding the laundry before school! So when I went into my laundry room, the washer n dryer were empty!!
I enjoyed your Costco haul, Tabitha. I still like the large plastic condiment containers like the "mustard & ketchup" squeeze bottles and round mayonnaise jars. I know I seem weird to talk about 'em. Oh! The fall fairs have the large squeeze bottles for burgers, hotdogs, corn dogs and fries. There are recipes about what to do with lots of mayonnaise like making potato salad for the big barbecue.
my kitchen overwhelms me so. we're renting so i cant just set it on fire but the kitchen itself doesn't have a lot of cabinets or a pantry so stuff is everywhere because there's no where to put it.

I saw something recently about how contaminated goldfish crackers are... I was horrified both of my kids loved them. They are banned in Europe due to pesticide contamination (measurable amount of roundup)🤦♀️😬. Organic certified or home made is the way to go.. just have to levy price vs time to see which way is easier.
I live in Spain and I've been to several countries here in europe and I've never seen them anywhere. I tried them once (from an american store here in spain) but I've never bought them again because of the ingredients.

Idk of you use Branch basics still but that is the best dishwasher stuff ever. Before they came out with the dishwasher pod I would do like half a scoop the booster and a teaspoon of the concentrate.
Hello. Happy Saturday from Ashley in Indianapolis. How do you do the laundry system? Any videos? I work 50 hours a week Monday to friday so far for now and sometimes work Saturday. Hard to keep everything clean and organized for me even if I have 1 child. So this Saturday I am home cleaning and doing laundry. My daughter had 2 weeks for fall break and October 17 they return to school. Any tips you can give me? I usually get off work at 5:30 then I have to pick up my daughter from school and then come home and cook dinner clean up but I feel like I am the only one. Does your kids and family chip in and help you clean up?
a little advice: change the feta brine after 4-5 days, it becomes yellow, but it doesn't mean it go spoiled, you just need to put it in a glass container with salty water.
