Hey Emily, culinary student here! You don’t have to wash mushrooms. It actually helps when you don’t wet them before cooking! Just wipe them down with a damp paper towel or cloth! They will soak up the flavors so much better if you don’t wet them! I love you and your videos!!
@@savannahflack3345 not sure if it's 100% safe guaranteed but I've heard a few sources say that you can just wipe them to remove any surface dirt. eat with caution is a good rule to stick by
@@savannahflack3345 I don't think so, like the other person said, it's probably not 100% safe but it should be generally safe. Everything you get from the grocery store, produce wise, is "ready to eat" usually
u could just use fresh mint for a fresh mint tea!! its very good! just boil some water and pour it over the mint with a bit of citrusy fruit (lemon is the best but literally everything else works too) and ginger or u could drink it sweet!!
Such a fun video! The editing was also v nice. I personally really just love this fridge-salvation / food-waste minimization type of content, esp yours since it's so down to earth and feels relatable
I honestly love these types of videos. I wish more people did them (maybe they do lol, idk). But like I will watch meal prep videos or grocery hauls or what I eat in a week and people tend to make a whole new meal each night (I'm guilty) but to see more "what to do with my leftovers", even leftover ingredients, is just more realistic to me.
21:00 is what gets me about you. you keep non-vegan sauces in your fridge for non-vegans visiting your home. how considerate of you emily. what a lovely person ❤️
Love the vid! Just wanna say the random "heLLO?" during your milk tasting, it *sent* me omg. I had to pause cuz it reminded me of that vine of the girl asleep who gets water poured in her face and sits up like "HELLO???" Love the content!!!
grapes with apple, and spinach makes a super yummy green juice/smoothie type thing!! would be yummy with cucumber too i think. grapes are usually quite sweet so they''re used in a lot of green drinks at smoothie bars and places like that, highly recommend!
Love this video! You’re always entertaining and your videos are like a warm blanket :) Can you make a video on how you stay vegan and if you ever struggle with it?
This is inspiring me to clean out my fridge. I've thrown out so much stuff bc I don't remember I have it and it's sad. It sucks tho bc my college life is absolutely insane rn so doing outside of it has been thrown on the backburner.
Cool carrot tip, if you wrap them all in a dish towel and then store in a bag/container, it keeps them super fresh for a really long time! My carrots keep for months that way, rly handy for when I'm not cooking a lot or being lazy about prepping them lol
If you ever have those sausages and mushrooms to use you can sautee both, slice the sausage, add tomatoes paste and add a bit of water (think the thickness of marinara), and add red pepper flakes and chili powder to desired heat, and simmer. It’s very good! We make this dish at thanksgiving and always end up eating it with mashed potatoes the next day. ☺️👍🏻
First off, LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Secondly, you may want to look into the origin of the word you used to describe being cheated while you were talking about the deli meat slices. I had used that word my whole life and had no idea until a few years ago when I typed it out and it had a red squiggle under it telling me I had spelled it wrong so I looked it up to see how to spell it and OMG. I had no idea that was how it was spelled or why people say that. It has just always been said in our culture.. it's even on the Simpsons and Seinfeld and a lot of other media. It was in a book I was required to read in high school... Not trying to make you feel bad.. just that if it were me I would hope someone would tell me instead of letting me keep saying it. You may decide it's not necessary to stop saying it.. that's up to you. But I thought you should at least know. Sorry if this was depressing. I'm depressing. Ugh. :/ really hard for me to post this even cuz i don't want you to feel sad lol... UGH
Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve always wondered what the origins were but the colloquial spelling threw me off too...just did a quick google search and am *very* glad I stopped saying it. Lastly...You’re not depressing; that was the kindest delivery of sensitive information I’ve seen in a hot minute. The internet needs more people like you 😁💚
Yes don’t be so apologetic about letting me know something important! It’s not your fault the info is depressing haha and it’s true I would rather be let known. Thank you! I’ll stop saying it 😬
dang, i had no idea. i thought it was spelled “jipped” and never even correlated it to a slur before. thank you so much for sharing, it helps us all grow and do better!
I think the notmilk tastes more like cows milk than the silk next milk. But I liked them both. But just getting oat milk tastes good too and is cheaper 😅
i’m soooo excited for the doggo reveal! i have literally thought to myself that you should get a dog just based on how much you loved your parents dogs in previous videos!
When I buy bananas, I always pick out all the single bananas left around. I also freeze them so I don’t mind them being a little smaller, and it’s saving them from waste.
hi this was mentioned in passing during the next milk tasting and u likely do not really care BUT! chicory root is a naturally sweet ingredient that reduces the amount of added sugar needed in foods :~) so basically it helps improve the flavour of your milks.
Omgosh where ever did u find “Noccoa” butter? That is my childhood and my favorite butter/margarine ever even pre-vegan. I’ve been looking for that for years. Happy to know it’s still around
Is it common in the US to wash mushrooms? Cause... in Germany you don't do it. You brush the dirt off, if anything... ^^;;;; When you wash them, yes, they will absorb a lot of water like a sponge, which changes their texture and waters down their taste.
Another fantastic & yummy😋 video from the awesome, beautiful, cool, gorgeous & lovely Emily. Great to have a fridge clean out and organise it. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Emily.
At least you clean your fridge out when the food is still edible because my adhd makes it so I forget about everything I’ve ever bought at the grocery store until it’s moldy and then I feel bad and wait another week to throw it out because I hate wasting food 😭
