Thanks for doing a Brinkley! Like some else mentioned I think they need to slow down at the Plants and take pride in the workplace and give incentives on quality jobs done, the work place environment work change if they weren't pushed!!! Besides sales are down why are theses companies pushing there employees and having this poor quality products out the door? I don't get it. Just saying!!!
As I have said before, the workforce is the same at all the factories. They don’t import Om Pa Loom Pa’s. Until they change the way they pay assemblers to by the hour instead of by the unit, they assemble them as fast as possible to get home!
Well, as most RV owners know RV Manufacturers assembly parts made by Lippert or others. I've seen other manufacturers hardly come close to the fit and finish of Brinkley and most owners appreciate the customer service. I agree the items found should be addressed by the dealer through Brinkley and I'm sure it will, would like to see a follow up video. If Blue Ox can do more Brinkley RVs and find a trend, then I might be more concerned. Great video guys and I'll give you a call when I purchase my next Rig, appreciate your videos and perspective
Yup, 100% agree! Brinkleys are just pigs with lipstick! I saw one of the first models early on at an RV show, the window walking into the rig on the door was crooked! That’s when I started to inspect, issue after issue after issue. I’ve also gone to dealer lots and looked at more, a slew of issues I stopped looking.
Brinkley Z 2900 owner here and I have had very little issues and I am very pleased with my purchase. Ours is very well built no leaks and the quality is far better than other manufacturers we toured when deciding what to purchase. A lot of the stuff in this video actually looks to be dealer issues. Could be wrong, but ours looked nothing like that when we arrived at our dealer to look at. It was up and functioning. Of course we bought from a small reputable dealer. I’ve heard horror stories about people buying from General RV on our Brinkley groups.
We are also considering a Z2900 ,, been doing a lot of research. So you are definitely happy , and recommend it ?? Also do you have the Gen-Y hitch , and what vehicle are you towing it with. Thanks , we are excited, and will purchase the 2025
We just purchased a Brinkley Model Z3100 on August 27th and so far its been excellent. My wife and I both watch your videos and have learned a lot. We found 2 very minor issues which the dealer fixed in 5 minutes during our inspection. Since then we've had two more very minor issues that I fixed in about 5 minutes. I agree the sealant on the inside is perfect, and I've never seen anything like that on any other camper. I hoping that the tape verses caulk on the outside will hold up. I can tell you that on our 2 previous 5th wheels, I was touching up the sealant on the outside at least 3 times a year. We don't have the lithium batteries or generator, as we don't have a toy hauler. One grip that I have is they don't install the inverter on these trailers, and at their price point that is just stupid. Even my cheap POS Jayco that I traded in for this one had an inverter. They state that its inverter prep'd but I can tell you there is almost no prep, and I'm going to have to do a lot of work to install the inverter and Lithium batteries. I agree that the slim rack slide in the bedroom is very loud, but we looked at a number of Brinkley's and they all sound the same. Really hoping that its better than our previous 5th wheels with the Schwintek slides, as we had serious issues with all of them using that system.
One of those units that look good till the Blue Ox team gets a close look. It did have a few interesting features, but still not on the par of some of the motorhomes. Thanks for showing us what you found.
The More i think about it . The unit could have been a show unit , That show things have been broken , Plus Washer and Dyer is a Dealer install Not factory . You never know what those Big Box stores are doing Brinkley really is doing a great job
They definitely didn't answer to my first request of having a production tour to go through their process of assembly! Oooops, video is out and all of a sudden everyone there is reaching out and open to have us anytime 🤔 day late dollar short they say!
I've walked through a couple of Brinkleys. Yes they are trendy but as a weekend woodworker and 30 years in construction I tend to look at how things align and come together. I noticed a lot of the window trims don't line up. One side is flat while the top is slightly twisted. Not that big of a deal but come on Brinkley how hard would it be to make the corners all line up?
i am furniture marker and my 285 the trim is aligned and flat with the face frames and facia. The other rigs i inspected were the same at the dealers so i necesallry buy your argument
this is not a substantiated point. the only thing they do well is the interior. thats literally the thing they do the most lol ive never seen a unit like that .
@@Nopers3388 they do alot more that other vendors like factory installed solar, Baql lever system, nautilus system inside the storage area eliminating holes in the walls, thick sealant on roof accessories, underbelly lighting, sewer storage tube, one piece propane/battery cover, windows that open 6 inches and you can actually use when its raining, shock absorbers on suspension, great tires not to mention the times that are inside that make the use very enjoyable.
Ridiculous for such an expensive rig. No better than the cheap rigs that you almost (unfortunately) expect will have issues like this. The RV industry is ripe for a brand to come in and deliver better quality. Wasn't that supposed to be Brinkley?!
The beauty of this Brinkley does not convince me, it’s got to be water tight and all electrical components should be have been addressed where it was built
Those little rubber bumpers are silly, but the intent is good. Vanleigh put small cables on the inside of the cabinet doors to prevent them from opening too far and hitting stuff. For the price they want for these Brinkleys, they should use a classy solution like that, not some rubber that’s going to yellow and eventually fall off
Well, as an OWNER, I OWN a 2025 G3950 and have put 8500 miles on it. I have had a few minor problems, and Brinkley Crew took care of them all at once with Mobile techs. Just saying and i am a fan of Blue Ox.
I'm happy for you Mr Doug! I'm just trying to make people aware of the normalcy of construction and readiness of units that should have been ready at pick up! Quality is not consistent even in "higher" end coaches right?
So i guess my question is how should that exterior seam stuff be installed. My understanding is Brinkley doesnt install the washer/dryer thats done at the dealer. Shouldn't the dealer be testing the generator b4 u do ur inspection. I dont remember if u identified the dealer u were at but u need to start pointing them out too. They all need to b doing better from supplier to customer.
Some are trying to hinder inspection just trying to teach us a lesson and piss off the customer at the end. It's a game some dealership like to play...
I'd love to see you use a smoke machine, like any car dealer uses, inside one of these cheeseboxes and watch where all the smoke pours out. And water will pour in.
@@Nahbruhsheesh If the dealer's did a thorough inspection, they would/should fix what they find. But why would they do that when they can just pass on the problems to the suckers that buy this junk and then get paid for "warranty" repairs! Always get an INDEPENDENT inspection!!
Bought on a monday, paid 3k over what i wanted for the pdi because "everybody knows these units ship incomplete". they skipped it of course. after 3 conversations with my salesman about not wanting to be back after 1 day of camping there i was back for a week, they wanted two, 8 days after i took ownership. once in the shop for warranty work week 2 of ownership i get battered by customer care with phrases like "we never said we were better than anybody else" and "...oh, thats industry standard...." complete bs. just another scam. they do this do many people. ive been investigating this brand for months and have hundreds of screenshots at this point. extensive, credible, and vin-verified cases of just incomplete units. if you buy a Breakley you are on the build team. better be an rv tech. these units require knowledge but i never thought id be on the build line in my driveway day 1.
@@DavidJones-su9ob this true. this is also not allowed a lot of the time. which does make sense. why would i let some clown do what housing inspectors do to house transactions to my rv's if they are good to go? oh wait they arent lol. its such a scam. but people are told they cant get a pdi becasue they are all fixed then poof
Nothing really different about their construction. Same old crap different day. That exterior trim mentioned at the beginning is a real issue. What a horrible caulking job on the roof. I'm a behind the scenes kind of guy so I really appreciate a good frame and guts. They do have a lot of nice interior features. Brinkley needs to take it back to the factory and redo the trim and caulk. Still the same of Lippert frame and axles hangers unless a MorRyde IS. No thanks.
I told the owners face to face when they were at the first dallas show with their brand new spankin units that they were a disgrace due to all the defects I found in a short amount of time.... they turned around and disappeared not to be found!!! obviously it has not gotten any better since!!! 🤠
Best toyhauler floorplan on the market if laughable. You cannot even get through it without putting out the slides. That's the main reason we went with a no island floorplan.
It was said by an influencer when Brinkley first came out the Quality was above reproach, but warned, they would most likely lose it when production ramped up. I have a problem paying $30k more for a model Z that I'm looking at, when Alliance is Quality and within reality when it comes to price. Now Alliance is using similar interiors, might make me purchase a n Alliance
Putting those small bumpers all over walls and cabinet sides to prevent doors from hitting is so gawdy. There are actually different size hinge pin wedges that can easily be installed in the hinge that would be non visible and keep doors from hitting.
those hinges would also not allow for the doors to open all the way or vibrate loose. you can hardly see them on my 285 and the doors open all the way - have ever looked at a Forest River product?
What happened to the new PDI place that General RV has in Elkhart, IN? This is on Brinkley and it should be on General for not catching this straight from the manufacturer.
C4BO, Westlake = China bomb! I’ve been looking into one of those RVMP generators, what did you think of it? I’m a little amazed that Pierre found all those outside issues! NOT. GREAT VIDEO.
Gen looks different. Like I said, this burning smell hopefully came from stickers left behind....bur remember, they supposedly inspected this! How can this still create this burning smell? New product on RV application. Time will tell
Before you guys comment something negative about Brinkley, watch the entire video. He finds a few things, but "likes the consistency of what Brinkley is doing, and she found the interior to be excellent, no leaks, loves the sealant and how "beautifully it was sealed." She even gave it "two thumbs up."
Yes we already experienced, we own a Dutch Star (nice built, but not perfect) and bought a Flagstaff travel trailer to leave in S Texas. This trailer is a real piece of s..t, that's why we're way more picky for our next buy
@@Nopers3388 I never said I wanted them to stop, but I can tell that most people that have a negative comment haven’t watched the video because it isn’t a slam on Brinkley like several of the comments suggest. In fact, it’s more of a pro-Brinkley video. The Brinkley jealousy continues.
How are they exposing them? He even said the "consistency of what they do is good." She even said that she is "really impressed and excited" about the interior. Sure they found a few minor issues that can be quickly fixed on the exterior, but overall, it was actually a good review. And she gives Brinkley 2 thumbs up!!
This is quite comical TBH. I've owned many toy haulers and currently own a Brinkley 3950. No brand loyalty whatsoever. I'm also a custom home builder.. news flash, anything mechanical can and will eventually fail. The grinding of the bedroom slide mechanism, which is the same used in all the high end RVs, is simply gears pushing the track out. Would you expect something holding/pushing that amount of weight to be silent? The door/graphics/fuel station, literally everything he mentions as an issue, not the case on my rig.
But he wasn't expecting YOUR rig. He noted the issues in front of him as an advocate for the potential buyer. Nobody, myself included, ever wants to hear criticism regarding something they bought, but sometimes those who drink the Brinkley Kool-Aid are a little over the top. I especially liked a comment seen some time ago from a woman who was somewhat disappointed that nobody came running over to see her new Brinkley as she was setting up at a campground. Get over yourself lady!
Some people get real defensive when you point finger at their prized possessions 😉... We all like to think we've purchased the best brand right? Some people still don't understand the message of our channel 🙄.....making the industry aware so all of it could get better
Hey guys, nice inspection review, but didn't you forgot something (beside the very poor quality of the theater seating....if/when their is one) ? Where the the microwave exhaust system blows, hummmmm ? Nowhere, it's not connected and doesn't blow outside, ooooooops
Yes, my first car didn't had power steering and ac, it was perfect too ! Anyway, Brinkley saved $10 for an air duct outside ...... that's cheap, very cheap
@@BenoitBauwens personally i like the fact there is not another hole in the outside wall and a damn flapper that can break off of opens when traveling like my old forest river . I like the fact the water system is in storage bay eliminating more holes and the 120v plugs right there two inside out of the weather.
I’m glad I bought an Arctic Fox instead.I looked at their travel trailer but for the price the Arctic Fox is way better.I am comparing the Arctic Fox 32A.All the hype I was reading and videos I saw looked good. This was disappointing to see.
With all the hype Brinkley brings, after this inspection of the outside fit & finish I'd call it close to a nightmare. With all them gaps, rain water will make itself right at home.
I love the interior but there seems to be issues with the exterior (and possibly slide motors). For the price, I'd pass and use my money to buy another one.
Last Brinkley I inspected a few weeks ago had some issues. The hinge broke off on curbside cargo door. Trim separating on the outer slide wall. Making it possible Water could run straight into the floor... Leaking drain pipe behind wall in front storage. Only minor issues on the roof but the way they are doing the front cap seam is a leak waiting to happen. IMHO My client actually called me a few days ago and ask if I ran the slides. Of course I ran the slides.. lol Apparently the bedroom slide is now going out crooked and a fuse blew for the second time on the main curb slide. I called the bedroom slide out on the report because the slim rack rails were bent enough to touch the slide sidewall. ( One on each side ) Several window shades were broken. Wrong recommended tire pressure sticker. The sticker was recommending higher pressure than what was stamped on the tire sidewall. Flooring on the left side of the curb slide was sticking up enough to be a trip hazard. Overall less issues than I normally find on new units....
I typically "always" turned them down because we can't assess any belt trim, front or rear cap, visually confirming the presence of any sealant of some sort supposedly applied with this "double sided" automotive industry technique...In the automotive industry, they rely on a computer and a robot, confirming when they run out of tape...the human factor in Elkhart is left to a lot of doubt 🤔. Nobody can confirm QC in none of those areas. I have a consumer that was pissed when I told him I didn't inspect Brinkley. Or should I say frustrated to the highest level because I declined his inspection opportunity and explained why I typically don't do them. What can I say, some people still trust RV manufacturing and their ethics.
50' 50Amp black electric cord on black tarmac. Sorry, Pierre, that's an OSHA tripping violation. The cord should be hi-viz yellow or orange. Which would be cheaper than the violation I'm gonna cite someone with, or the ambulance ride when it gets tripped over.
Just because it is a "TOP Brand" doesn't mean it is 150% good to go, hence why you bring this team in to get a jump on things before you get clotheslined, that is unless, of course, you enjoy the Throat Punch, then buy blind and don't call in the experts.
Sorry Brinkley, but the outside construction, minus square windows, is no different than other brands. In some cases worse, but for alot more money! What happen to you get what you pay for?
