​@@Unravenan I believe Alyx is the craftwoman/tree now. Alyx stayed "to fix what she broke" and in this episode you can see her "working/fixing" a mouse shaped skull. I believe that is Little she is ascending! But instead of Little they're gonna be Big! It makes sense, Neo stomped on poor Little but now that can't happen, cause Little ks now big.

@@seraph7934 I believe we saw her dagger when ruby first met the blacksmith, the fact that the dagger fall when alyx died proves that's it's still her. The chains would also symoblise that she is jailed here, purging her "sentence" through working. The mask would also serve a shiding her real identity, the one of a killer.

I feel like when the Cat killed Alyx, she ascended and she came back as Juniper the rabbit and saved Jaune. It's particularly telling that the cat mentioned Alyx wanting to save Jaune before he killed her and Juniper apparently came out of nowhere and brought him to the people pleasers.

​@@stevenkurtz2730 She WAS a bad person, she just had a change of heart after a nice chat with the Blacksmith and decided to fix the bad thing she did. Unfortunately for her, karma was fast on her track and didn't miss a chance to strike when she finally flinched.

I'm pretty sure she became the blacksmith that's helping the others now. Looking at her now, when she was speaking to Ruby, you can see her design and colors match Alex's.

@@compareandcontrast9833 Also possible. We did see in the cat's flashback that Alyx dropped the dagger Ruby saw earlier in the season. Maybe she created a Afteran with the sole purpose of saving/helping Jaune. Either could happen.

I do hope still that she is able to reconcile with jaune and her team. Would seem kinda less worthwhile if her entire being is written off as a character death or identity death and thus there is no real reconciliation going on.

I feel like they will all reconcile at the end, but also these experiences will carry over into volume 10 as well

I’m definitely concerned with the direction of rwby. Hopefully it’ll resolve itself, but rwby is too popular of a show to be this inconsistent. The DC x RWBY stuff definitely took away from what this volume could’ve been

that's what I've realized, the tree really is a place of rebirth, and also healing hopefully, so when Ruby has made her choice, she'll hatch out of that wooden stature of herself, with a new and improved outfit, wielding her mom's axe, and praying hoping, with her memories intact.

And when Jaune fell there was a plume of smoke, just like the smoke the Herbalist used. Jaune might have fallen into the leaves and the fire burned them

@@ozlight1607 The headband the blacksmith wears is Alyx’s bow. She has dreadlocks the same color as Alyx’s skirt. She has the tree branch growing on her back and most importantly, she likes to fix what’s broken. Just like Alyx.

I'm wondering if the reveal about Alix regretting and wanting to fix her bad choices foreshadows Neo making a similar decision in the near future.

@@SailorRemnant That’s an interesting take, but I feel like it’s too late for a Neo redemption. Knowing CRWBY, it’ll be rushed the way Emerald’s was. And if that doesn’t happen and it’s written well, Neo could aid in taking down Salem before eventually leaving to figure out who she is. Her becoming a full hero? Not so much. Just a chance for Neo to discover herself and learn to find joy outside of Roman.

@@l0ki_lux947 Well, that was only how it was supposed to be. But the Spring maiden was also not someone in Haven anymore but was transferred to Raven.

Actually Summer Rose just like Raven has made big contributions to the girls' lives. Yang in the beginning spent all her time looking for Raven so she could get answers and Ruby looked up to Summer Rose and Qrow. Ruby probably inspired to be like her mother which is why this volume wraps so much around Ruby and Summer.

I mean we see her still herself in the intro with the others on the tree when they are escaping so she is still herself and that's good.

Which means this whole volume was for nothing if Ruby isn't going to lose something permanently. What a waste.

honesty id agree but id hate the idea of ruby forgetting yang, maybe if they had a worse relationship where both dislike each other then sure, then yang is like "i never wanted this" and thats why she leans on blake that would be better in my opinon.
