My Theory is that Lewis betrayed and abandoned Alyx in the Ever After, he probably got fed up with her selfishness/cruelty, and he was the one who wrote the fairy tail “Girl who fell through the World” after making it home……

When I started Ruby I never thought I'd call Jaune the most tragic Ruby character. Man's has been through so much. Lost his lover, killed an ally against his nature, was mocked his entire life for being weak, now was forced to age so much and was betrayed for trying to do the right thing by the way of poison.

Something to keep in mind when it comes to the idea of Alyx and the tree is if Alyx didn't get out, where did the story come from? The way it's been made out is that after getting out of the Ever After, Alyx wrote it down in a book. That's how all the other characters knew about it. So I think she really did get out in some form or other, perhaps in a new shape yes, and it could be as Jaune put it, that she sacrificed her brother in order to leave.

Other theories I've read in the comments to other reactors (in no particular order): * Alyx did try to sacrifice Lewis to the tree, but the tree passed judgment on Alyx and made her the sacrifice instead, while returning Lewis to Remnant; then Lewis wrote the story in honor of his sister, while embellishing it a little and leaving himself out of it. * They both returned, but Lewis didn't want to be in the story, so he either wrote himself out of it or requested Alyx to not include him. * Neither returned, but since Lewis was another incarnation of Ozma, his soul got reborn in Remnant, then he wrote the story to honor his previous sister, while making her look not so bad, just like he did with Lionheart in the newspapers after the fall of Haven. * Little is actually Lewis being repurposed. * Jaune is missing important details and thus, overreacting and taking out his frustration on the wrong person, just like he did with Oscar in Volume 6. * The cat is now going to side with Neo. * Alyx and Lewis were part of the bunch of people that Cinder sent to the void when she started her attack, but since the Ever After seems to be sentient and has been making them fall in orders not corresponding to the order in which they fell, Lewis and Alyx fell when Jaune was fucking with the clock, and when they (whichever one of them actually made it back) returned to Remnant, it was way in the past.

Well, I guess we all know who to both blame and thank for Weiss's current thirst, who ironically has a strong aversion to water.

You know, I expect the punderstorm to make a return. In the opening, we see Ruby on a bridge like the one Yang and Blake are one, with a grinning Ruby on the other side. I expect maybe Ruby will get caught up in it and either will have to confront herself or Neo to work things out.

I believe that when Alyx and Lewis got to the tree, Alyx tricked Lewis into ascending so she could go back home. I think Alyx got home and Lewis is still out there in the ever after with another form or shape post ascension, and we'll hopefully get to see him

I don't think Alyx sacrificed herself. I agree that it was Lewis who got out instead of her, but I think it's because the tree deemed she was unworthy. Remember how the cat said "she certainly learned her lesson". It seems likely she was ascended, perhaps into the jabberwalker, as a way of expressing her resentment. Or the craziest theory is that she got ascended back to Remnant, and became Neo. The OP definitely seems to make some link between them.

Lewis is obviously *Lewis Caroll,* author of _Alice in Wonderland._ (What do they teach kids in school these days?!?) How it may have gone down: Lewis returns to Remnant. He is the kind one, so he writes the story to put his sister in a better light. He either traps or trades his sister to the Tree (or, wildly, _the Tree_ decides who to take), and she "Ascends." (Remember, the Cat said *"she learned her lesson,"* and he seemed pretty amused by it.) She was ugly inside--so what would she become? Other than *the Jabberwalker?*

Louis might of gotten back and HE wrote the story while His Selfish Sister was Punished He must of wrote the story without himself in the Book because the ending of the book mentioned Alyx having loneliness in her heart when she got back, but no if Alyx really is Cruel that wouldn't change anything about her even if she did Change in personality I think it might of Worsened when they met Herb and caused Alyx to have her soul darkened even more When they got to the Tree, Alyx is punished by the Tree while Louis is granted passage

I do love how most of our theories just get stomped into the ground mercilessly: 1.) Neo's redemption arc ❌️> Proceeds to commit mass murder on many, MANY innocents. 2.) Time in Ever After works diffrently ❌️ > Jaune's stupid ass picked up a time fruit. 3.) White knight ❌️> Now Weiss is the one simping but no matter how many fanfics you write, no matter how much fanart you draw, the fact remains that Jaune is just too old for Weiss at this point.

I still think Neo is/was Alyx. To get up to remnant she had to give up her voice (think little mermaid) and identity, with a cruel twist of being able to become anyone but herself (her semblance). The girl who fell through the world, who came back but wasn’t the same girl anymore. What a very ever-afterian fate to be dragged back down after thinking she got away.
