Yeah, that’s why country has the most covers, most cases it doesn’t matter about the words, the same words can tell two different stories, it’s magical.
That's what I always believed. However, when the song came out, I didn't see the video, so I figured it was open-ended so the listener could draw their own conclusions.
23 years ago my wife was pregnant with our first baby girl .she was having complications and the docs came in and said I may have to choose between my wife and my baby girl . broke my heart just thinking about what I may have to do .thank the good lord that I got to bring them both home with me . my daughters now 23 and me and my wife have been together 30 years . this is our song for that horrible time we went through .
Coming up on 28 yrs, (August) my son and I both almost died during delivery. We both made it through because of the good Lord above. I cry every time I hear this song.
Well, this song gets me. They lost my first son twice and almost lost me. He was delivered early by emergency C-section. Three years later, I got pregnant with my second son. At my 3 month mark they did the typical blood work . We went on vacation. And when we returned there was a call from my doctor. " Call me as soon as you get this!" Come to find out, most people don't know, that there are 28 different blood incapabilities. Most people think of the RH factor. It's the only one that they can treat. We were told that during ng my C-section, some of my 1st son's blood got mixed in with mine. Probably through the cord. I had to do an amniocentesis. It was a Large C little c blood incapability. A few months later I went for a check up, they couldn't find his heartbeat any more. So I was rushed to the hospital. They found it with special equipment. But, the blood issue caused a lot of worry. It can cause everything from a heart condition to birth defects. The were every month along with an ultrasound. Then every other week. Then every week. He was born months early as well. I had to be rushed to the OR because he was in destress. He was supposed to be a Vbac not a C-section. Well, they didn't even have time to cut him out. They literally ripped him out with forceps. He had the cord around his neck. He was in such bad shape. He went to the NICU.I couldn't even see him for the whole first night. They had to cut his heels with a razor every 15 minutes to check his blood. He was jaundiced. He had to have a blood transfusion. It was the worst time in my life. And I haven't had a good life growing up. My husband and I decided not to have any more kids. Which broke my heart. I always wanted to be surrounded by family. I didn't have that growing up. But now, my boys are grown men. And tower over little me. I'm 5ft 2. And they're 6ft and 6ft 3 1/2! As hard as their start was, neither of them have ever had a serious illness. Thank God! They are my everything! 💕🙏
I almost lost my youngest daughter during her own childbirth. It was a terrifying experience. I was praying the same thing the character in the song was praying. Take me God, not her. I just remember her husband was so scared he was shaking. I never thought I would see that big towering man so afraid. And then after it was all over, finding out she had died on the table and knowing the trouble they had trying to save her and hearing her tell her story, I just can't believe how close we came. I still hate to think of that moment even three years on. It hurts. I can't imagine what those who have lost their child or wife during child birth must go through. My heart breaks for them.
OMG! That is heartbreaking just reading your story. I'm so glad she made it. I can't imagine a day that is supposed to be nothing but wonderful turning so scary.
im right there with you, my ex wife when in labor began to seizure and i was 19 at the time, and just well i thought i was losing who i thought of the love of my life and my daughter. thankfully everything was okay with them just a bad epidural, but even to this day 15 years + later that last verse gets me right in the feels cant not cry
This was my wife and my favorite song. It takes on a different emotion now that she's gone. Can't hear it without crying because it hits so close to home.
If you haven't done Tim McGraw "Humble and Kind"...highly recommended. Worthy message and beautifully edited video. Not sad, but so beautiful it may bring a tear.
Perfect for Tasha's country journey. Great to see you both react to this. Also, if you pay attention to the video....the mom survived and is at the lake with the baby and dad.
My husband and I listen to a little bit of everything, one day we had it on country just randomly and this song came on. We listened enthralled and both of us basically burst into tears at the end. So beautifully moving. Still gets me over 25 years later.
That damn song. I cry like a little girl every time I hear it. It started playing at a co-workers desk hte other day. I had to nope right out of there.
Good evening, what a beautiful song, it really takes you by the heart and draws you into the song and story. Thank you for your reaction, stay safe and have a lovely day.
You two are able to articulate your feelings so well! I have always loved this song and country music. I’m so glad to see people who understand the reason music like this is made.
Country music is storytelling at its core the emotions you feel is extremely powerful and that’s how country music works a lot of people believe its just reneck music but its just life.
I first heard this song the night I got engaged to my ex-husband. Little did we know that the next year I'd be fighting for my life with our first child. He was born almost 3 months early and was given better survival odds than me. We both made it and he's a healthy young man today. My ex wouldn't listen to that song after that. It was too much.
@@pattyyoung2103 Tim Tritt? well apparently the actual video doesn't show up but found this! It is travis tritt! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xGzO40VaDjU.html

I highly recommend, "Seashores of Old Mexico" by George Strait. Really anything by George Strait. He's called the King of Country Music for many reasons.
I really enjoyed this honest reaction and can't wait to see more! It makes my heart happy to see this because even though I don't care for many country songs this was one that touched me too. Some things transcend any genre of music and I think anyone from any background or culture can see and feel that. God bless!
Everyone's first time listening to this song are shocked at the way things take a big turn. Most of the country songs, I think, that has been shared with you guys, are the good more heartfelt meaningful songs. But Country music has it's fair share of pointless songs too ;). just not as much as other genres.
Especially some of the newer country that really went down the pop road. I hate sounding like an old man saying, "back in my day!" but country really has became very pop heavy in recent times and less about the story telling.
Tasha - you have such a beautiful soul. Your words reveal this inner well of goodness, sensitivity, and kindness. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. Your analysis of country music also applies to you - just as some music offers much more value, heart, and human relatability... so do your words. In a world of so much empty blather, you speak in such a sincere, gentle, beautiful, and - quite frankly profound - manner... you reach people on a whole different level than most. Your words penetrate. This subscriber thanks you for that! This is a gift you share with us here that quite frankly is more enriching to us than any great musical talent alone ever could be.
Tim mcgraw has so manh touching songs with so much meaning behind them and theres slot of them i can relate too my favorite has always been my little girl i dedicated it to my daughter when she was born she will be 19 in a couple weeks
I love this song. It still catches me off guard to this day. I feel like the difference between country and rap, rock, blues etc., is that those geners are equally as much about the music as it is about the lyrics while country is almost entirely about the lyrics. The music in country is simply there to enhance the emotion of the vocals ad much as possible. This is why there aren't very many well known country guitarists, drumers, bassists, keyboard players etc. bc it's all about the singer. Great reaction.
They've actually studied why country music moves people to tears like no other genre. The bottom line is the song-writers make the stories specific, relatable and personal. Bobby Braddock was known as the sad song writer. Check out other songs by him. He Stopped Loving Her Today, Golden Ring, D-I-V-O-R-C-E.
This is one of my all time favorites. As someone that both fishes and collects watches I connect to it on many levels. You are 100 percent right about the feelings of little boys. But what really gets me is the watch. That was his grandaddy's watch, an heirloom and probably his greatest possession and he just willing to give it up. the watch end of itself has a special meaning to him and this represents how he must have felt about the girl. also everyone's gone through loss. life is fragile people leave and we can all identify with a family member who has passed. how much more can we identify with our greatest love passing?
I'm so glad y'all are discovering the value in country music. You are correct that these songs, although there are comedic and dance music songs as well, are about love and life and the qualities that make life good and valuable. Most of the lessons and tales told will not be heard in any other form in today's music although you may hear similar songs and stories from the great singers of the 1950s - 1980s.
This song gets me deep in my feels. I have goosebumps and my heart aches a little, ya know? I remember, vividly, the first time I heard this song. I remember the vehicle I was driving and as I pulled into my driveway, the song was ending, and I just cried like a baby!
welcome to Country Music (and we are glad to have you by the way!!!) country ballads are designed to tell stories that evoke emotions. this is one that takes you from laughter to tears others you will find are the opposite, and still others will take you up, down and back up again. the story is the message. i hope you enjoy the journey!
This song is a true example of heartfelt story telling that makes country music what it is. The emotions you showed pulled just as hard on my heart strings. Love you guys😁
My dad was in the army and when I was in high school, he was stationed in Seoul, Korea. Often, after school, I would go to the theater on base and watch whatever was showing. Before the movie would start, they always played music on the speakers. That is when I first heard this song, as well as Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks. These two songs are what got me into country music. They made me feel something. That's the same reason I love horror movies, and metal music. I want to experience the world, not only for myself, but through the eyes of others. When an artist shares their life with you in such a well thought out, beautiful way, it sticks with you. I strive to do this in the books I write, the movies I make, and the music I create as well.
This made me sub. I love watching people who are introducing themselves to country music as they realized the story telling involved in a lot of the music. It's my favorite aspect of country music. No genre tells stories about every day life with the twists and turns it can take as well as country music does.
Loved your reaction!! EVERY TIME I hear this song, it's impossible to stop the waterworks!! I definitely see a connection between the two of you that is genuine!! MUCH LOVE AND PEACE, TO THE BOTH OF YOU!!!!
Tasha, thank you for being so sincere and honest with your feelings. It's pure and it's raw...and it's what keeps me coming back to watch your reactions. Thank you both for keeping it real. Love and light always ❤️🙏😇
I have no idea RU-vid algorithm lol..but I firmly believe there's a reason you were suggested. I'm not a Country song regular lol..but it's OK. They always have meaning. Darn you I was sobbing. Heard this song a billion times. Anyways I'm glad I came across your channel. Love from Delaware
This is my favorite song ever. I get teary eyed everytime i hear it. I loved your geniune reaction to the video. Its a song that if you really sit down and listen, that really should hit home if you truely love your better half.
I found your channel about an hour ago, and you guys have had me crying for almost the whole time. I dunno whats wrong with me but I'm subbing lol. I love seeing your reaction to music I grew up loving. Thank you for exploring all kinds of music and letrting us experience it through you. I've never subbed to a reaction chanel before but you guys just seem so genuine.
Thank you both for actually letting this song play and for both of you to really pay attention to the lyrics the music the emotion everything. You both are the best at reaction videos I have ever seen and you’re genuine and nice. Y’all very cool.
I first heard this on the radio while driving to work and about had to pull over on the freeway. So sad. Great song and great story. Love your reactions.
This a very deep emotional song To me, it's by far one of the best country love songs. Tim McGraw sang this song perfectly. His voice can carry the emotion threw the whole song.
I like how the intentions behind the phrase 'don't take the girl' change as the song progresses, illustrating the evolution of perspective as a boy becomes a man. The same words are used but conveying a very differing meaning as time passes and perceptions shift. Much love to y'all from Alabama! Stay safe and keep rockin' 🤘
Tim McGraw was a creation of an one night stand....from Tug McGraw a long time Baseball pitcher......he played with the Mets in the 70’s....he also pitched with the Phillies....Ken
I was crying at the very first verse because this song is so emotional for me always has been. And at first I was like really excited to see the the walls of your guys's emotions going to the story knowing that you haven't listened to it. Soon as Tim McGraw opens with Johnny's Daddy, out of the tears started rolling down my face so it didn't even have to get there for me to feel what was to come
I wanted to comment this on another video but I enjoy seeing both of your emotional reactions and I really feel like you think deep on it and articulate it beautifully. Don’t be embarrassed to share it, you make me feel it more.
The first time hearing this song was eight days after getting married. My new bride was held up at gunpoint the night before. The radio alarm woke me up from a unsettled night's sleep to hearing this song. Needless to say it brought me to tears. Even today, it brings tears to my eyes. So Tasha, go ahead and cry over it.
Love watching you guy's alot of time's I come home from work I just got to tune in and see what's next. You to are some great people keep it coming please great job on the reaction.
I remember when this first came out and I was the same! I bawled my eyes out at the end! I love country music for the same reasons y’all said. I’m a native Texan and literally born and raised on our farm, let’s just leave it as a few decades ago 😂. Country takes me back to those days and I go down memory lane. I’d love to suggest Legend of Woolley Swamp by Charlie Daniels! It’s an awesome ghost story of a swamp legend. It’s pretty cool. And Charlie, hands down was the best fiddle player in country music! I just stumbled on yalls channel and I’m so glad I did!
When I clicked on this video, y'all's "likes" we at 666... I just couldn't let y'all stay that way lol My favorite song of Tim McGraw's is "Not a Moment Too Soon." Definitely worth a listen.
A little research says that she did live and you can see her running at the very end of the video. Note early in the song his dad said "some day you'll change your mind" so later the context of "don't take the girl" changed.
You and your wife have THE BEST reactions..and I can tell...you and your lovely wife..are good to each other..and I appreciate that these days...or..any days....thank you both..white 61 year old former marine from s.c..
