Kind of funny, but I wasn't used to having a baby in the car, and totally forgot he was in the back seat until he made a little noise and it scared me SO bad, because I forgot he was there!
Oh I totally get this!! I remember being so scared I would forget my baby in the car too. I started leaving my purse or my phone in the back of the car by my baby. The brain fog being a new mom is REAL!
I'm lucky to live only like 4 blocks from the hospital, but I did sit in the back to make sure he was ok. I was really worried his airways would get blocked. I think I sat in the back for the first week or two
I'm Swedish but I live in Japan. In Sweden, you can go to the fire department (I think the police too, but I'm not sure) and they will check that your car seat is installed safely and correctly. Well, I'm now in the final weeks of pregnancy with my first and I've been badgering my husband nonstop that not only do we need to install the seat (or at the very least the thing that the car seat attaches to in the car) but we need to go and have it checked to make sure that bub is safe when she finally decides to make her appearance. Needless to say that my husband is a lot less concerned about this than I am and have done nothing to even check where we can get the seat checked out in the first place.. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if baby-girl makes an appearance before the seat has even made it out of the box..🙄
oh wow!! My cousin lives in Sweden and Japan is top of our list to travel to next! Toys R Us was holding "Car Seat Clinics" that we went to before. It's helpful to know the base is bolstered in correctly and tightly enough and then then you can just "drop and click" the seat in! Exciting to have a baby girl on the way soon! 💞
My baby cried for a long time and then it stopped and he just fell asleep. I was sitting next to him because it scared me too much. Can't believe that was more than 3 years ago... time sure flies... I'm pretty sure my son will be 12 tomorrow as well 😢
We live 3 miles from the hospital so it was pretty easy. God was it uncomfortable to sit in the car though! We also didn’t have the straps adjusted correctly. I didn’t realize you could move the height of the shoulder straps until a few weeks later 😅
