Is Rocky VII cancelled? 😥 Sylvester Stallone recently posted on Instagram and shared some of his ideas for Rocky 7. Sadly, he stated that it is extremely unlikely to happen, but he wanted to share his story ideas with fan!

We don't need another Rocky movie. It wouldn't make sense as they were writing him out of creed 1 or 2 by saying he had cancer , can't remember if Rocky told creed it was terminal or not or if he didn't want help to cure it , but it's pointless and the Rocky Movies saga Franchise is one of my favourite if not my favourite movies of all time, as it keeps me motivated and inspires me , but this is not necessary to make another Rocky movie and it would spoil all the other Rocky movies. FFS just let it be.

No point making another One. If remember correctlycabd I do recall Rocky telling creed he as cancer, can't remember if he said it was terminal or just didn't want help curing it or not, but if he had terminal cancer or didn't want help curing it then it would make no sense to make another Rocky movie if they wrote sly's Rocky character out of creed 2 or with cancer , it wouldn't make sense and only spoil the entire Rocky movie saga Franchise. Also the Rocky movie saga Franchise us my favourite or one of my top favourite movies saga's of all time as my uncle introduced me to it as a child growing up and i have watched them all countless times , over and over again and still do to this day in my mid 30's (actually 35 today) because they still motivates and inspires me, but ffs just let it go as its only going to spoil the whole Rocky movie saga Franchise. Just leave it alone now ffs , It's not necessary to make another Rocky movie. Drago lost to Rocky in Rocky 4 end of , no need to make another pointless Rocky movie where drago beats rocky, Rocky won for a reason for his friend Apollo and his legacy , also to get reven.revenge on drago for killing his Rocky's friend Apollo in the ring , end of.

TBH, Rocky Balboa was a great send-off. This just feels like it would likely be the same as Last Blood - a disappointing entry, when in hindsight the character should have been left alone at the end of Rambo IV. Sometimes it's better to just let it go - to be thankful for the movies we got, and mindful that all journeys have an end.

They should never stop making Rocky movies! Even when Sly, (god willing I can refer to him as) is retired or, god help us, is gone; a story and a legacy about America, what it can be, and mean for so many people. If god willing, Sly writes a story about his sone continuing the legacy some how, and keeping the continuity of the Rocky franchise, the sign me the “f” up. Rocky Balboa is a name and a story this country should revel in, and remember! It represents everything that anyone could ever want for themselves! Would definitely love to see a Rocky 7, that filmverse never gets old, and still think Rocky has so much depth. That’s what I think is missing with Creed. It comes out near my birthday so I am contemplating going to the cinema to watch it, but not sure that I would like it that much.

Stallone might not be rooting for the studio but he's still rooting for Michael B. Jordan. I'm looking forward to Creed III. I also think that the story of Rocky has run it's course. Rocky 6 was the end of that story. And it was very satisfying. I don't see a reason for a Rocky 7 to exist.

Although it's sad in a way, I think it's for the best. Anything they would do with Rocky now would be a rehash. Stallone should explore new characters now. Tulsa King is fantastic, fresh new territory, and I'm loving it. Hopefully he'll start doing more things like that.

At first I never liked the idea of the Creed movies but having Rocky as his mentor/coach it worked very well. They gave him a good send off in the second Creed movie. Rocky Balboa also has a good ending for the character and made up for Rocky 5 which was ok but not the best in the series. Personally I think the character has done all he can which is difficult to say as I love the Rocky movies. I do think Stallone could do another Rambo though

No way I'll ever watch Creed III. Stallone was the only reason I watched the first two Creeds. Adonis just isn't anywhere near as likable a character. I was one of them who said "I've had enough" because I was skeptical as to how the story would be handled, but after you told some of the premise for what Rocky 7 would look like if its greenlit, I say "why not?" Rocky is such an iconic character that has been handled very well for the past 6 films, including the spinoff aka Creed, that I wouldn't mind seeing him back on the big screen, implementing all the lessons he learned from Mick almost 50 years ago when he faced Apolo Creed and went the distance with him. I'm not sure I'd say there is more interest in Rocky 7 than Creed 3, when 63% said they had enough with the Rocky franchise and we don't know how many of those 63% are into the Creed franchise.

This sort of thing is predictable in the realm of endless sequels, reboots, etc. It can go way beyond Creed 3, Rocky 7, or Stallone's presence or cosigning of a 4th Creed Film. We've already seen what franchise that becomes a Legacy IP with no end looks like. Here it could easily mean new Rocky movies without Stallone's involvement and Rocky being played by someone else. And if you're one of those Fans that feels compelled to follow every iteration regardless of quality - Buckle Up.

Didnt get to see the post. But if it's the storyline where he starts training a Mexican immigrant. I think it's a weak premise. I'd still watch it just because, but there could be a much better storyline. Love to see something regarding gazzo s character. Rocky's only true friend when he had nothing in the beginning. Sadly the actor who played gazzo has passed, but still something with that would be cool

Gazzo was part of the 'Rocky Prequel' idea that Stallone shared a while ago where it was revealed that he was Rocky's stepbrother-hence the close relationship.

I felt 'Rocky Balboa' was a great finale to the Rocky films while Creed+Creed 2 were fine 'passing the torch' films with Rocky taking a back seat so I found the idea of a 'Rocky 7' unnecessary. While it's great to hear what the plans were, I don't feel we missed anything by it not happening.

@@robd1329 I much prefer creed one over 2. Creed 2 should of been epic as it was Creed vs Drago the legacy. But what we got was a pretty depressing and slow movie with some cringe moments. You can't just rely on the final fight. You need the audience to be entertained all the way through like in the first movie. Creed 1 was a great movie and a great addition to the Rocky franchise. Creed 2 to just failed to be entertaining.

I think Rocky had 2 great endings. 1st: Rocky leaving Adrian's grave after saying "We did it" & waving goodbye to the headstone as well as the audience before walking away. Would have been the perfect sendoff & end of the franchise. But he did get another great sendoff. 2nd: he tells Adonis his time is now, & leaves. He ends up in Vancouver & meets his grandson Logan as well as reunites with Robert. Nice little capstone. I say leave it at that epilogue. Even if it's good, Creed III should be the end of the franchise. It doesn't need to continue on like the MCU (though it had a great ending to the Infinity Saga which felt like a franchise ender in Endgame) or upcoming DCU film slate. Stallone shouldn't fall into the trap of great endings only to resuscitate the character. Look what happened with Last Blood. Rambo had the perfect ending for his character. He returns to Arizona. Should have stopped there. Last Blood was unnecessary & maybe he died or maybe he didn't. All I know is it was unnecessary.

Sly sold the rights to Irwin and Chartoff, so they have the right to own it. If the Rocky franchise bombed and cost the owners millions of dollars, it would not be Sly's job to pay them back. That is the risk you take as the investor. But at the same time, when the franchise is a success and the risk paid off, you can't come back later and complain about a business decision you made. I think a fair compromise would be a discussion between Irwin and Stallone where they discuss a way for Stallone to purchase equity in the franchise that he can leave for his family.

Creed 3 was amazing. Idk why there is so much hate from some people. Creed 3 won't fail. Stallone said he was done after 2 so what's the problem? Go see 3...the story is very good but that's my opinion.

Really am not interested in Rocky taking a political route with immigration etc. I really do not want to hear about Rocky 4 comparisons either. I’m only interested in a Rocky film centred around Rocky. The stories are going way off topic into other territory which would be bettered suited to other movies. Not a Rocky movie.

Warners and Canon were planning a sequel in the 80's but it fell though [probably as Canon went out of business]. There was talk of a tv series [maybe a sequel but probably a reboot] in the late 2010's but nothing materialised.
