Question to Howard 🥹 is Kate always smiling and happy 100% all the time? She projects such great positive energies. Love your ME series and can’t get enough of your travels. You both should be on the Travel Channel or CNN late Anthony Bourdain time slot “Living like a local”

The views were absolutely breathtaking. Definitely not attempting that I. The dark. Thanks for taking one for the team. Silverton seemed like a cool place to explore. Hot Springs all day. Great meeting you and your very cute fur babies!

We pulled our 24’ trailer up that Gawd-Awful road in the daylight! Never again! My wife was in tears and my heart will never be the same! We had no idea how scary it was otherwise we would have totally rearranged our trip.

we drove the Million Dollar Highway last year in May, late evening with rain/snow/sleet from Durango to Ouray. It is pretty crazy!

wow, they paved the street in silverton, I think I visited sometime around 1985, when the rio grande owned the line to silverton.

Wow! Can’t believe you drove that road! I would have been terrified. I love taking jeep tours. They are so cool.

Yes! The Jeep tours, particularly up in Ouray, are incredible. Thanks for watching and being a member of the Navigators, Shannon! ♥️

We so wish our Jeep was able to tow. That drive in Ouray is gorgeous but we don’t have the guts yet to take the trailer up the passes! Can’t wait to see your video on telluride as we haven’t been there yet. Emma & Jack

I remember when we stayed in Ouray for the week almost 20 years ago on our way to Durango for a motorcycle rally (we installed LED lighting systems at the time) our boss had a dually and a giant 5th wheel and had to take such a different path. I'm so glad that we just had our car and a small trailer and were tent camping that year. Loved that area and we got a week pass to the hot springs pool and went every day. 💞 That jeep tour looked like something that I would not have survived being super afraid of heights. 😲 We did the box canyon trail and I can't remember how far I made it but this area is definitely on the list when we get back on the road. Thanks so much for sharing. -Troy & Aimee

I have many stories of that road. In the winter we called it a butt-clencher. Lived in the area, worked in Ouray/Ridgeway for about a decade...miss it greatly.

Ouray and Telluride are Jeep heaven! Trageically a Jeep Gladiator tour vehicle on a section of Imogene pass with 2 occupants and the driver were killed this week . I am fine driving these shelf roads myself in my jeep but being the passenger freaks me out!

We took a back road from Purgatory to Telluride one summer and I thought we'd never make it the drive was so scary in spots. We also went to Animas Forks Ghost Town after touring the One Hundred Gold Mine. That route was tough , too. Colorado has some gorgeous spots,, but getting there is scary at times.

Ummm Howard you are the man! I'm not sure I'd like to drive the Million Dollar Highway in the daytime, much less night time. I mean the views are awesome but not for the faint of heart. Glad you made it unscathed. Would love to visit Silverton and Ouray some day. Safe travels.

Man that looks stressful. I’ve driven a few hairy roads in getting to Yellowstone and Glacier, but Colorado had some of the worst. Those roads where it is straight down with no barrier is gross

Great video, enjoyed it alot. Guys, do not come to New Zealand 50% of our roads have no railings and our elevations change all the time.

Poor Howard... He looked either SUPER Tired, or hung over in the intro after driving the $1M Hwy at night! Hope he got something special for the effort.

I thought regular driving at night was bad enough. I would have been wiped out in the morning as well.

You might look into two-way radios. We have some by Midland and they have good range. Could be very helpful for scouting. And the mud is no joke! I'm worried for next week! RVers get stuck relatively often in CO, UT, AZ, NM. We also have an Inreach device which pairs with phones and could enable messaging. Radios are cheaper though!

Such a beautiful, scenic area. Glad everyone made it safe, it's nerve wracking in a car let alone a big RV.

Yeah all that is on my list. Looks like a great area. I use to work with the police chief of Ouray. Can’t wait to see the next episode, love free camping 👍🏼

Wow! the views there are incredible. The train to Silveton from Durango was a splurge for us, but nice to take in the views for Dave since he's the driver of our rig. I'm thinking the road may be worth towing up or down to boondocks in that area. As always, great video!!

I know this highway. You must be insane to do it at night. I think you may owe your husband a total honey evening. 😊❤❤
