The Bass Strait Maritime Centre is an excellent museum with interactive exhibits about the history and maritime heritage of the Devonport region.
Along the foreshore, you will see the Spirit of the Sea Sculpture, and you may also see the Spirit of Tasmania arriving or departing.
Tasmanian Arboretum
The Tasmanian Arboretum is a wonderful collection of trees in a beautiful and peaceful landscape. There are several walking trails, and you can wander along the lakes. If you look carefully, you may see the elusive platypus. There are also bird hides and a wonderful selection of plants to admire.
Preston Falls
Preston Falls is a lovely waterfall formed when Preston Creek plunges 25 metres into a deep gorge. The enclosed viewing platform is situated on top of the cliff and provides excellent views of the gorge below and the waterfall.
Leven Canyon
Leven Canyon can be seen from two lookouts along the track. From both lookouts, you can look down into the stunning canyon and see the wonderful Leven River flowing through the steep forest.
Castra Circuit
Along the Castra Circuit, you will see three Wonderful Waterfalls: Silver Falls, Castra Falls and Step Falls. The bush track is a 6.5-kilometre circuit and will take about two and a half hours to complete. Some parts of the track are quite steep and can be muddy.
