If the supreme court hands the case back to Chutkan to have her put the trial on the calendar. Then you will see Canon set a trial date before Chutkan so she can run blocker for Trump. Of course that trial date she sets is a date that she doesn't intend on sticking to it. I can guarantee that if the supreme court returns the case for remand so that after the fact finding by the judge is returned to the supreme court they won't even start considering it till October at the earliest. because that is when their next session begins.

Exactly. And Trump waited until Dec. 15 to claim 'absolute immunity,' the very last day he could file. He was indicted early last summer. All filings should've been due by Aug. 31. Everyone knew he was going to claim immunity; yet giving him until Dec. 15, meant another 4 month delay.

Exactly what rule of law states that the President does not have immunity? Since there is no tangible and specific concrete law that covers the subject then that is what the SCOTUS is trying to decide/interpret on what type of immunity that a President has.

No they are deciding a single motion on Presidential immunity. They should not have even taken up the motion because it was already decided by two lower courts and this is not a murder trial. They are just delaying for trump. Most likely outcome they will remand this to the trial court to Judge Chutkan who must explain why the charges do not deserve any type of immunity. By the way Presidential immunity does not exist in the Constitution or in law. It is an OLC policy not to criminally charge any sitting President of a crime

I am confident they won't make a ruling until after the transition of power to Trump. That is when they would rule he has immunity and will claim their ticket to be in his sphere of power when he rises as the dictator of the USA. If Biden wins then they will likely throw Trump under the bus because A. He wouldn't have a real chance of winning 2028 and B.
